Service and readiness of the staff to adress problems. Excellent view on the lake from the hotel.
One of the elevators was not accessible by wheelchair. Therefore also some of the hotel's facilities could not be used (e.g. the restaurant).

Could not eat in dining room on second night of stay which was a shame.

quiet, friendly, private rooms. lake views. breakfast muesli delicious.
the table at breakfast next to window was unstable becuase the floor wasn't flat. pool out of order due to flood but this was well explained. need more of the blue gismos to let people in car park. residents need to hand them back quicker.

Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa, Windermere - Reviews & Ratings"The Hotel was fantastic. Staff where pleasant and helpful. Bar has a great terrace which looks out over the Lake. Breakfast at the hotel was v.nice, buffet continental plus a full cooked menu all included in the price. We never booked for an evening meal in the restaurant ourselves but it always seemed full. Bedroom was big, clean, v.comfortable and serviced every day. Tea/coffee & bottled water In the room. The only thing to mention was the bed, we had two singles pushed together, I don" (3304867699)

Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa, Windermere - Reviews & Ratings"The curtains should have remained closed to keep the room cooler. We were aware of the heat wave during our stay but the room should not have been let under such conditions. A Fan was provided which was of little use. We have stayed at the OLD England many times over 40 years. The food however was at it's usual high standard." (3305058265)

A lovely terrace overlooking the lake. The room had two lakeview windows with a very comfortable seating area, flat screen tv. Very tastefully decorated and clean. Breakfast was very good with a good choice of continental & traditional food. Service very friendly and not intrusive.
