The hotel had some interesting and original rooms. Our room was a loft bedroom and the bed was in the window alcove. The bathroom was well appointed and the shower was excellent. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and even though they had a large function on we received excellent service and very good quality food.
It was very warm in the hotel when we arrived. One of the rooms we booked was quite small.

Even though the hotel was quiet on the sunday, we were charged a further £20 for a later check-out (and initially told we'd have to pay for a full second night). I thought there could have been more flexibility around this.

Decor and cleanliness excellent. Very responsive to phone messages booking an extra room.
Manner of staff slightly 'off'. Nothing specific but just less than friendly. Often not manning reception. Coffee in short supply at breakfast. Parking was a problem at times.

Excellent food, good service from staff, roomy room.
The window blind was a joke. It didn't actually cover the window and was in a bad state of repair. Thus instead of a good night's sleep it was so light that it was a problem.

The location of the hotel is in a good part of Leamington Spa. The breakfast was cooked well.The room was nice. The bed comfortable. The staff friendly.
Our room was next to the conference suite and staff were moving furniture around at 11.30pm, and didn't even close the conference suite doors, which allowed the noise to be clearly heard in our room. Also the door leading to the hallway was jammed open allowing the noise from the bar and restaurant to be heard in our room late in the night. All this kept us awake. This all began again early the following morning. We ordered a bar meal one evening and the steak was fatty and grissly. I ordered soup and had to request a bread roll because none came with the soup. This caused us to look elsewhere for our meals.

Big comfortable bed
Fixtures and fittings in the room reminded me of a hotel I stayed in in Moscow in 1980, but I appreciate that upgrading is taking place. Only 5 TV channels in the room, despite the multiple buttons on the remote. I assume that this will be fixed in the upgrade, so none of this will deter me from staying there again.

Dimensions of rooms, retention of authentic period style
Bathroom needed a facelift and had a bit of a smell. No tissues, only 1 drinking glass, which was not augmented despite request.

Slow service for dinner, and two breakfasts which were very slow, one unacceptably so, taking an hour to be served. The hotel did apologise and blamed staff for not turning up on time. good location, nice hotel, probably best dinner this year - even better than some good eateries in Paris & Madrid.
ground floor room next to car park so no privacy unless curtains always pulled.

Great location.Lovely decor of rooms and hotel in general.Very helpful staff, even cooked special dinner on request.It was delicious.
No hairdryer in room,need to ask reception.Shower design allows overflow into bathroom.

Bathroom was nice and large, twice as big as expected for a hotel bathroom, but nowhere to put anything. There was plenty of floor space for some free standing racks or shelves for toiletries. Mine had to stay in their bag on the floor. Very much looking forward to a bath, but when the time came found that there was no bath plug so had to have a shower. Reported to recepionist, but nothing could be done immediately. She offered me the key to an empty room, but not convenient to take everything needed (could not wander around hotel in dressing gown). Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant, all home cooked food. Staff very attentive. Bed very comfortable. Slept well, all nice & quiet. Good choice at breakfast. All in all, enjoyed our stay very much. A success." (97899228)

the size of the bed, the patio area, the resturant was suitable

The downstairs area of the hotel i.e bar/ dining room/ entrance area were modern and stylish.
The room itself was not in keeping with the rest of the hotel- it was traditionally decorated- and at minimal expense. It would have been really cool if some effort had been put into making the rooms stylish as with the downstairs communal areas of the hotel.

The hotel staff were very good
The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was poor. There was a lot of thick dust on the pelmet on the curtains and the bathroom needed updating.
