Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"Very pleasent stay. Owners were friendly and helpful. Did not eat breakfast, but dinner was very good. Rooms were good size. Free parking across street. Close to train station for those traveling by train." (99563377)

Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"An interesting wisteria-clad hotel, where the limestone cliff actually forms the back wall of the building on the upper floors! Typical French decor, we had rather a lovely rosewood desk in our room. Located across from the railway crossing and on a sporadically busy road, so there was some traffic/train noise, but not over-bearingly so. French continental breakfast was good, and there was plenty of it." (99412469)

Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"This was a good hotel , well run and organised. The accommodation was good and the restaurant food excellent. Both Madame and Monsieur (the chef) made our stay very enjoyable. There was parking opposite. The only minus point was that the hotel sits on a busy road near a railway line. There was a pool which unfortunately we did not get to use." (3305085929)
spacious clean, good firm bed and well equipped
some noise from traffic and rail opposite

Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"The Hotel Cro Magnon is located at one edge of the small town of Les Eyzies less than 100m from the small railway station on the line from Perigeaux and by the main road through town so easy access however you arrive. The Besse family and their staff were most welcoming as was their small fluffy dog. There were plenty of very pleasant public rooms and outdoor spaces and the menu, reflecting the specialities of the Perigord, was excellent. Close to the hotel are some of the great sites of prehistoric interest. Lascaux is a short drive away, but there are other great sites and the National Museum of Prehistory within walking distance of the hotel which is itself the site where the remains of Cro Magnon man were found. The Vezere valley also contains beautiful chateaux, fascinating geology and glorious scenery. A place to stay more than a few days." (3304953082)
Friendly management and staff. That they spoke good English helped our enjoyment also. The room was a good size including the bathroom. The pool was used each afternoon of our stay.
Having to leave, although we moved on to more of our tour.

The hotel is very charming.
Breakast was a big disappointment. After eating an excellent dinner at the hotel the night before, the paltry buffet breakfast was a let down, so we walked into town and had breakfast elsewhere.

Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"We used this hotel for an overnight stop, after a long day's drive - ideal. No fuss. Crisp service, good meal, sound night's sleep. It had a very pleasant, family run feel to it. We will use again - will certainly recommend to friends doing the same run." (3304840131)

Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was very near the railway which could have proved noisy. It was on the edge of the village which didn't worry us as we had a very nice dinner in the hotel. It was a very attractive building with lots of character in a very beautiful part of the country. The parking was very convenient which is always a useful situation." (3304419119)
The room was very nicely furnished and comfortable beds. The bathroom was very clean and large
The shower was not in a separate cubicle

Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel is a nice walk to the caves. The Vezere River is just a stone throw away. There is enough space throughout the hotel to sit and relax. Every one was patient with my French and encougaged my son to speak in French. English is spoken for those who are new to France. The hotel has been there since 1865 and has all the modern conveniences of a modern hotel." (3304300683)
Everything was wonderful and the staff went out of their way to be accomodating.
That I couldn't stay longer

Hôtel Le Cro-Magnon, Les Eyzies - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel is near to, but not disturbed by, the railway station and at the end of the town's main street. It is easy to visit many regional towns by rail and leave the car behind. It is a great location to visit nearby grottos and the excellent Lascaux II. As we visited in February, some of the local shops in the town and some of the local visits were still closed for their winter break. However, there was certainly enough of them open to make our stay varied, relaxing and interesting. The up side of visiting at this time of year is that the roads are very quiet, driving is easy and the sites are well sign-posted. We definitely plan to visit and stay in this hotel again." Large, bright room. Excellent food. Warm greeting and excellent service from the friendly owners.
Nothing - a great place to stay and great value for money! The menu represents a wonderful, local, yet modern style, with an emphasis on duck in some of the starters and main courses. We stayed for 6 nights, so we also appreciated the occasional off menu recommendations including an excellently prepared beef main course and a salmon salad starter.

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The lady who ran the hotel was extremely helpfull and very friendly. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed a fine meal. We stayed two nights, and arrived a day earlier than our original booking, which meant we had to change rooms. Both rooms were fine, in fact the cheaper room had a nice balcony." (97108425)
The friendly staff, the cleanliness and size of rooms. The breakfast was of good standard also. Overall it was good value.
The only complaint was the noisy floorboards. We could hear other guests quite clearly walking in the corridor.
