The bedding was not satisfactory, i.e. smelly. The landing area dark, carpet badly worn on stairs and an old mattress standing against the wall.

It is difficult to tell whether it is clean or not, because all the decor and carpets are in various tartans which do not match, and which makes the whole place quite dark and dingy. The rooms should really have air conditioning, as it was very hot necessitating keeping the windows open, and this made it very noisy and not easy to sleep. The bed was not comfortable, and the whole experience was not terribly enjoyable." (3304966804)
The proprietor was very friendly and also the other member of staff. Parking was easy and free between 7pm and 9am.
The room was shabby and in need of an overhaul, as was the bathroom. It was hot and noisy because it was on a busy road, and opposite a main station.

The hosts of the Hotel are real characters made us feel very welcome and could not have been more helpful, they really made us laugh and made sure we had a good time. Parking is a problem as only on-street parking is available and is payable. We were fortunate that the payment machine was broken and would not accept any money!!!! Perfectly adequate facilities. Good comfortable bed. Good double glazing deletes road noise.

This did not happen. Apparently a fuse went so the water took nearly 2 hours to come through. Towels in the bathroom were old. The rooms were not as described on web site. There was no mini bar in room. The private garden was overgrown and I would describe as more of a jungle - how you could walk through it I don't know! There was no light along the corridor to our room and we had to feel along the walls to get there. The key kept getting stuck in the lock." (2422715)

Hotel needs a repaint. Some drawers would be usefule in the bedroom as there were non. No mirror in bedroom either.

As we did not spend a great deal of time at the hotel, we were visiting the area to follow the Tour de France, is was sufficient. However, if I had booked a more leisurely break I don't think the standard would have been acceptable. I would recommend the hotel if you just want a base to explore the area and are not intending to base your holiday around the hotel." (2381003)
The staff were friendly and the hotel in general was clean.
The rooms were very basic and could do with re-decorating.

Atmosphere extremely good, everyone was courteous, friendly, helpful, efficient. Breakfast very good, evening meals superb.
No real bad points, just one suggestion - tea/coffee making facilities would be appreciated.

Staff however (particularly owner)gave us good welcome - best that we encountered in France so far! Wish I'd known how good the food was so that we could have dined there at night. Children were disappointed with the overgrown garden which they had looked forward to running about in after long car journey. HOtel had air of faded grandeur which, though charming, perhaps could do with some updating and sprucing up. We managed to find car parking space outside, and the gare over the road did not prove noisy as feared." (930297)
Excellent breakfast by very accommodating owner who welcomed us with a Welsh flag! Excellent coffee and very attentive to our children.
Decor of room possible needed updating and there was no usable garden and play area although it was mentioned on the website.

"Very nice hotel and I would recommend staying here. Unfortunatley the chef was on holiday so was unable to sample the food, however the owner was hepful in finding a restaurant nearby where we could eat. There was a loose manhole cover outside which was banging all night. Opposite the main railway line, but there was no noise from it at all. English spoken for those who need it" (97594680)

No shower curtain so unable to use the shower.
