"very nice area to visit" (107480520)

very poor bathroom/toilet facilities ie very small

The exterior of the hotel and the grounds are attractive

Plumbing was very noisy and most of the hotels piping seem to reverberate from our bathroom walls. Breakfast coffee looked and tasted as if it had merely had the coffee grounds waved at it. Glad to leave.

"The hotel made a great stopover on our trip from mid-France to Calais. It's only a 5 minute walk from the shops/restaurants/beach/D-Day museum. A trip by car to Bayeux (nice town, as well as being home to the tapestry) takes only 10 minutes by car." (108453768)

Great location, easy to find, friendly staff, nice breakfast.

"We enjoyed Arromanches as we always do but the small room spoiled it for us." (107335420)

Location was excellent - convenient for the town of Arromanches and within easy walking distance. Good private car parking. Nice grounds. Very attractive, typical Normandy buildings. Good, adequate breakfast. Pleasant staff. Clean room.

Very, very small room!!! It really was not big enough in any way for a double bed. We had to move a small upright chair behind the door to enable us to get in! No coat hangers in the wardrobe.

Well placed hotel in nice grounds.

The Breakfast was very expensive and the coffee was grey, tasteless and made with UHT milk. Not what one excpects of a French Breakfast! Also there was no plug in the basin in our bedroom.

"Enjoyed the area had a lovely break only down side was additional cost." (107620939)

Nice clean room with clean on-suite. Conveniantly located for the area we wanted to visit.

Additional costs that were unexpected. Having booked online I expected the costs to remain the same not increase on paying the bill that could be explained as I do not speak french.

    "I highly recommend it." (97469030)

The Inn was a beautiful 18th century home and the picture you have on your site is actually a little guest house in the back. The picture of the inn is more beautiful than the guest house. I would suggest you go on line to his facility and get his picture of the house. The Innkeeper was magnificent and was so warm and hospitable. We arrived during the activities of the D-Day invasion and he offered us an additional room at no charge since we had 2 grown children (18 & 20). His wine was excellent ( a Local vin du pay) and he was charming. The cafe au lait is magnificent and the breakfast was fresh croissants and apricot marmalade (all local). I highly recommend this establishment and we are planning a return next year to stay with Msr. Mesple.

It wasn't a bad point but it wasn't what Americans are used to. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are too though this is typically European. It was however, clean and comfortable. If you must have everything match, you will be disappointed, but this place is charming and wonderful.

"Expected something better for the price. " (97718369)

The building had character and looked very nice from the outside. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Manager was pleasant.

The bedroom's furnishings were very old and shabby. We spent as little time as possible in the room as it had a dingy feel about it.

Friendly and helpful staff, easy to find, easy to park. Nice environment.

Extremely thin walls. You could hear other peoples every movement inside and outside the house from our room.

Location was good for town and Caen ferry

    Tired surroundings very basic.

nice view, very nice location, good welcome of the owner

dirtiness, broken plugs, small room, very old looking, no entrance, arrival by the kitchen, obligation to pay immediately at arrival, price too high for such poor offer,

"I would like to call it a hotel with character good for a nights rest and close to most museums" (99514150)

The site, the building, quiet (outside)

We could hear the neighbours talk (literally)and snore and I saw the room just was not cleaned good enough

"Arromanches is a very interesting village, with a great d-day history, with the pre-fabricated war port still in evidence. The local museum is good but the 360deg cinema is a fantastic experience not to be missed. The hotel is situated in an area central to all the historic WW2 sites and although we stayed for 2 nights this was no way long enough. The village centre has some lovely restaurants and bistro's and the numerous colourful flags flying from the lamposts made for a nice atmosphere. We found the local people friendly and helpful." (99479148)

Whilst our family room was a bit dated and the decoration was tired. you could not fault the cleanliness. The hospitable, friendly helpful host, helped to make our stay enjoyable.

Dated and tired family room decoration.

"We were in a room in a seperate newer property across the road from the main hotel. This was not a problem to us but had it been wet then it may have been inconvenient. Our friends were also in a room in a seperate block from the main hotel building but on-site and relatively close. The rooms were generally clean as were the en-suite shower-rooms. Breakfast was adequate for the price paid. Overall the accommodation was what you might expect for the price." (99417683)

It is in a very quiet location but access to the main areas and facilities of Arromanches is an easy walk.

"The hotel was not full and we were surprised to be offered the tiny room described above. An alternative in the annexe was then provided which was satisfactory for one night. However, no soap provided and towels were the size of flannels!!" (99113256)

Parking and subsequent room offered was adequate.

The first room offered was a small attic double room with the bed pushed against a wall. Dull, dated, sad and pokey!

However the overall surroundings and ambience of the hotel was excellent, an excellent base for seeing Arromanche, Bayeaux and the surrounding area." (99902382)

Friendly staff, good service, location, general ambience

    Very small cramped room

We booked a quadruple room, for 4 adults. In fact the room was really the siez of a small double room with 2 beds added. It was impossible to move in the room and definetly far too small for 2 adults and 2 children ( let alone 4 adults).
