The staff were polite and very friendly. The hotel has a great rustic charm.
The decor of the room and amenities were not exceptional. The amenities listed on the website were not provided by the hotel but available within the city.

Lovely lighting and lamps in room. Pretty furniture. Very good restaurant with good service and reasonably priced which you didn't have to prebook for. Loads of charm with lots of funny sheep about the place. Lovely outside terrace and well maintained garden.
The room was a bit small for 2 people. No hairdryer. Nice pieces of occassional furniture but nowhere to put clothes i.e. chest of drawers. No milk jugs on table at breakfast although I kept asking, this was more annoying than you would think as I had to keep hopping up and down to get milk everytime I poured myself some tea.

Instead of staying in identikit rooms on industrial estates on edges of cities, we are now discovering small towns and charming hotels in France and it is frequently a delightful experience. You do have to attempt to speak French, but do not be put off - the staff at La Bergerie were very helpful and the set menus offer a great way to try local foods. " (108092259)
Good location, easy to find, close to auto route but peaceful. Lovely ambience and decor, superb restaurant. Ample parking.

The food and catering service at this hotel were a highlight. It is unfortunate that we were unable to stay in the main wing of the building which looked to be better appointed than the building at the back.
The room where we stayed was small and there was no proper shower.

The web site shows it is a 'chic' place but, in reality it is more like a motel with lots of rooms attached to an older house. The evening meal was very good, as was the breakfast. Would we stay again? Yes, but with the proviso we are in the main hotel, not the barrack room annex. Parking facilities excellent." (99655778)
Ambiance was very good. Breakfast was very good in a themed and quirky dining room.
The room was beginning to look a little shabby and will need decorating. It was obvious it had been well used.

The restaurant attached to the hotel was superb.

Noticed a number of single business travelers were also staying and eating there. I consider this a positive sign. We were in a motel-like wing and though the room itself was fine the view was of the parking lot. Ask for a room in the main building or facing the garden if available." (2540527)
Good stop between Paris and Strasbourg being close to main road yet in a quiet, charming setting.
The initial reception was standard French reserve. Could be a little warmer to arriving guests.

Very friendly and welcoming hotel. The courtyard is beautiful. The restaurant had fantastic food and, despite the lack of english spoken and our limited french, catered for our vegitarian daughter.
An english translation of the menu - or a phrase book in the room since I forgot mine!

Hotel Restaurant La Bergerie, Woippy - Reviews & Ratings"We got lost trying to find the hotel using the on-line directions but luckily a local boy,we had asked for directions, phoned the hotel for us and got directions. The village of Rugy is quite modern and not very impressive but the la Bergerie is quite grand and approached through gates onto a gravelled courtyard. First impressions were good as the first cars seen were a Ferrari, a Lamborghini and a Porche which were possibly the owners as they didn't move in the 3 days we were there. The rooms are small but adequate with nice views of an orchard. Set dinner was approx 30 euros and was good in a nouveau cuisine style. Breakfast was adequate with another UK guest remarking that all the early business men had obviously got there first and had the best. We had bicycles with us and had a very pleasant cycle around the local villages. There are many cycle tracks around and we cycled to a lovely restaurant in a nearby village for dinner one night. The weather was perfect otherwise we may have struggled for things to do." (2346736)
Beautiful converted old house and outbuildings. Lovely French feel. Very relaxing with nice gardens and restaurant.
