Excellent overnight accomodation with easy access to the centre of Lisieux. The restaurant provided good food at a sensible price.
As an English speaking guest,it would have been nice to have had access to English language television channels. Also, is the room numbering system logical? It seemed to me a bit confusing.( we were a party of nine occupying five rooms and it didn't seem obvious where each room was situated)

It was clean and tiday and beds were large
We requested a NO smoking room, but we were put in a smoking room and the smell was not pleasant, and with young children was not pleasant at all.

Easy to find,room and facilities very good,restaurant staff and food very good.
We booked 2 rooms,both of which were on the ground floor of a 3 storey building and we were at either end of the block,in one room the occupants were next door and came in at turned 2am,turned the TV on and quite noisy with general conversation and laughing with no thought for anyone else.In the other room,the occupants above appeared to have been there purely for a romantic encounter as when all the noise was over,again after 2am,the female showered and left the building !!!We had a very disturbed night and had a 12 hour journey the following day !

Next morning we had a fulfilling breakfast and were soon on our way to the channel ports. The hotel was clean and comfortable for the price and I had the best shower for a fortnight." (3304789002)
It was exactly what we required for the last night of a three wee tour.
For some reason, it did take a long time to locate.

Campanile Lisieux, Lisieux - Reviews & Ratings"After a very long journey 24hrs on arrival at the hotel we were told that the booking had been cancelled and they had allocated our room to someone else. The hotel being fully booked we were sent to a less than adequate alternative in the town. I was not impressed at all and will be writing a formal complaint about this in due course. This was one of 3 hotels booked with active hotels for this journey the othes | am happy to say were very pleasing. I believe the problem lay with the hotel and not the booking process." (2663401)

"Nice hotel, let down badly by constant noise throughout the night. Definitely NOT a place to stay if you need a good night's sleep! I stay regularly at hotels (business and leisure) and this place has my record for the worst night's sleep." (97338317)
Usual Campanile quality, style, value and helpfulness
Hotel has an automated check-in system, which meant that guests were arriving right through the night. Woken at 01:15 with loud bangs and then suffered a constant arrival of people through to 03:30, the rattle of each diesel engine and flurry of slammed doors heralding yet another arrival. Not pleasant. This is a larger (3-storey) building and it's a terrible sound box, easily transmitting noises between rooms. If you want to hear people coming and (quite literally!) going all night, then stay here and enjoy the experience! Never again will we use this hotel, and we will avoid others that have an automated 24-hours check-in system (look for the green kiosk that looks like a cashpoint, next to the main entrance). This is a shame, as the rest of the hotel was good and the staff very helpful.
