Garden was nice being very peaceful and tranquil and very good breakfast. The value was good and the proprietor very hospitable. We intend to revisit.
Handle fell off door to w.c. in bedroom. No lift but was fine for us but would be difficult for elderly people.

Delightful setting / old house and grounds. Staff very friendly and helpful. We occupied a cute upper-story room with dormer windows and a pleasing outlook over the garden. Food good, well presented, and good value.
The toilet and bathroom en suite were, however, substandard, with loose fittings and limited space. We mentioned this to the management. The area of the hotel in which we were accommodated could have done with a coat of paint, as there were chip and scrape marks around the walls, doors and skirtings.

Manoir Des Portes, Lamballe - Reviews & Ratings"You will need to take hair dryers and irons etc as they are not provided unless asked for at reception. The room we stayed in was ripe for a refurbishment. It was a duplex with a children's bedroom upstairs. Knowing British children I believe they will find it a little spooky and not what they are used to in the lack of amenities. The food and the staff were excellent, no complaints there. Overall excellent value for money and I would go back again simply for the food. If you are not a French speaker take a dictionary." (99526313)
It was a charming old Manor house and the staff were very friendly. The garden was lovely and had the weather been good perfect for eating or just relaxing in.
It was slightly run down and could do with a little more attention to detail.The light fitting in the bathroom was a little eratic.

The surroundings lovely and the atmosphere peaceful but friendly. Balcony to one of the bedrooms a plus. On site restaurant very good.

Very nice hotel with a good price relation versus quality / The posibillity to have diner in the garden is perfect on a warm summer evening.
This is just an opservation and not even an remarq, just to add a little extra is that the personnel didn't have a dress code.

It was a charming hotel set in beautiful un spoilt grounds,the hotel is old and rural and this adds to the experience. The owner was friendly and verry helpful with a good knowledge of the loca area and beaches .

The hotel appeared not to be ready to receive guests, although a prior booking had been made, the reception/bar appeared disheveled and unkempt with a programme on a tv flat screen appearing to be more interesting to the proprietor than his guest/s. Dinner in the evening was good although there was no a la carte due to a bank holiday. A little disappointing and slightly overpriced." (3304438012)

Manoir Des Portes, Lamballe - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel is situated in a very peaceful part of Brittany but within easy reach of St Malo. The garden is excellent for a relaxing session on one of the many sunbeds with a cool beer and a good book. The very close proximity of riding stables and easy riding country may appeal to some. The proprietor guards the peace - not hesitating to request that a distant neighbour turn off the strimmer that was in danger of disturbing the early evening peace. Perhaps not well set up for very young children (but I noticed toys were available) nevertheless perhaps this is not altogether a bad thing if your looking for a little peace and quiet!!" (2573455)
Friendly, courteous staff, spacious and very clean rooms, peace and quiet, easy access to forests and coast, enjoyable evening meals.

The garden was a lovely place to relax and had very comfortable furniture and the dining out in the summer would be a good marketing point. There is an equestrian centre next door which might put some people off staying at the hotel as there were a lot of flies around. The setting is beautiful, the hotel comfortable and the staff were extremely welcoming (bearing in mind we did not arrive until 1am in the morning)." (2415309)
We had two large spaces which easily accommodated the three of us. The rooms were clean and airy and comfortable.
For young children we have found it quite useful to be able to view a video to help quieten down at the end of the day.

The building is full of character and the rooms overlook the garden. The room was good value and the dinner was first class. The personal service and the welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the dining was excellent
I cannot think of anything at all. The check out was a little slow but this was getting the credit card authorised. Clearly not the fault of the hotel.

The room was basic but clean with a good view of the garden. The entrance to the hotel was not in character with the rest of the building and did not form a good initial reaction.
The bar seemed to be occupied by family and friends most of the time and one could feel that you were intruding on a family gathering.
