The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"I would like to have seen a pictue of the room I was staying in, if I had have known, i would have booked somewhere else. Having previously stayed at the Pennine Manor and The Old Golf House I have certain expectations when staying away from home, The Huddersfield hotel did not meet them standards." (99423821)
The convenience of it being in a town centre
The shower didn't work, the room smelt, the enterior decor was shabby and old. The Housekeeper did not see to our room.

The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"Disappointing because of other unruly and disruptive guests" (107409944)
Rooms were warm and adquately furnished - easily accissible from railway station Good breakfast with good waitress
Severely disturbed by noise from other residents at 5 am which went on for 3 hours - other guests disruptive and smoking in the public areas (staff did their best to sort out probems) Don't think that we would like to stay there again, certainly on a weekend)

I'm sorry ,but the room just looked a bittired and dirty. The chef needs to reevaluate the freshness of the mushrooms-they tasted of deep fried mould.

As I was looking for a quality city centre hotel the options in Huddersfield are limited but I was highly satisfied and will not hesitate to stay there again when the opportunity arises. I would most certainly recommend to friends and business acquaintances." (3305276723)

Position in town. Staff were all excellent and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Good value for money.
Lack of aircon, also our bedroom was noisy and a little dated.

Nice, central hotel with friendly staff and good food.

Carpet stained.Room so small no chair to sit on. People on pavement outside could see me siting on bed or coming out of shower room. Hardboard doors. Dining area uninviting. Table cloths and menus stained. Tables unstable. No real menu offered until I complained.Adjoining restaurant not open. Told ran out of wine until the next day! But receptionist found some. Given knife and fork to eat Lasagne, but really needed a straw." (3304711768)

Possibly more staff during the breakfast service. Car parking, although this is typical for a town centre hotel.

The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"Staff were very helpful and direct when I booked in. Staff were also very informal in the morning which helped the atmosphere. The quality ofstaff and clientele is the most important feature of any hotel and I found this to be excellent. One thing I would say is that there was a radio playing loudly in the kitchen first thing andone had no choice but extol the virtues of the local radio station blaring out over a wonderful cooked breakfast! All in all, a very good stay and one to be recommended, especially as I have stayed there before and there was no change in the high quality of its service." (3304324703)

The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"The decor of my room was somewhat outdated and the wallpaper was a strange orange colour and not in the best condition. I am told by my business colleague in huddersfield that the hotel has a bad local reputation due to it including a somewhat sketchy nightclub on its premises. I was somewhat worried when I realised that the next door church was going to strike its bell on every quarter hour into the night, but in fact when I fully closed all the windows this did not disturb me. It might have been more of a problem if I had been staying there during the summer." (2943348)
The room was a reasonable size and the bed was too.
Decor of rooms; general up-dating.

The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"we were very comfortable at the huddersfield hotel, if there was one main thing to know about before going, it would be its location being directly opposite a night club, and between a couple of bars... to most people(including ourselves)this was not such a bad thing nor was it a problem... the hotel has taken consideration to this and has sliding secondary double glazing fitted." (2882417)
The huddersfield hotel was comfortable and reasonably priced for our overnight stay, with the reassurance of secure car parking and very easy to find.
improvements.... decor is probably the only main improvement i can bring to mind, tho' at present it does have certain character the way it is.

The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"This hotel is showing signs of its age.I would only class it as mediocre and feel it is pushing it to justify the overnight accomodation charge.Noise from guests walking down the corridors outside my room was particularly loud and if you have difficulty sleeping this is not the hotel for you.Noise from the outside street(bars and clubs) on a Saturday night is particularly intrusive. On a positive note the breakfast in the morning and service is good. The front desk staff rather informal and laid back in their approach. This is essentially a budget hotel that does not charge budget prices." (2717739)
The breakfast was good.Breakfast staff friendly and attentive.
The decor has seen better days.Noise from the surrounding clubs and bars on a Saturday night might be considered a problem by some.

The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome, they were very informative about the area. Although we did not have a problem with parking, the car park did not look very big, so it may not have accommodated all vistors" (2475047)

The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"I would have liked to have been informed that bed and breakfast could be obtained at a cheaper rate. When I looked at a brochure in the room the bed and breakfast rate was cheaper than the internet price. As I couldn't obtain the phone number, on the internet booking system, before I booked the room I had no way of checking alternative prices. I am not paying the bill, but my school is. We always have to obtain the best value for money, as money is very tight. I would certainly have to check the prices by phone before I firmly booked in future." (2494834)

The Huddersfield Hotel, Huddersfield - Reviews & Ratings"We stayed for two nights and on the Sat morning I got a call saying that I should have checked out half an hour ago, when infact I had another night left. I had booking confirmation for 2 nights but the hotel hadn't booked it in for two. They did apologise however and everything was fine. Parking at the hotel is very difficult as they don't have many spaces and some are awkward to get out of." (1989796)
The room was ok, it was clean and the facilities all worked.
The hotel itself seemed a but grubby and I didn't think the staff were very professional.

All hotel staff are very friendly. The food in the restaurant is of a high standard and served on hot plates. The room accommodation is of a fair standard. I have stayed at this hotel before and the service has always been of a high standard.
At this stay sound travelled through the room walls - this has not happened to me before so may be it was the specific room or a customer with a very loud voice.
