Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was good value and the secure car park was a plus. As a stop over it is ideal but the location is quite a bit out of town. The resturant was closed when we were there and there were little options available to you to eat nearby within walking distance. The rooms were quite small but comfortable. Rooms at the back of the hotel could be quite noisy from the traffic from a nearby main road. If you can I would get a room at the front." (99832587)
Price and secure car park
Location was a long way out of town on an industrial estate.

This was a holiday with my teenage son. There were two great pieces of help: first, telephone staff happily adjusted by booking from a single to a double with (with two single beds) - and this was done in a very friendly way. Second, the lady at reception was always very pleasant.

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"The lady in reception was very helpful even though my French is poor. She managed to understand me and I had no difficulty with understanding her instructions. I was impressed with the consideration to security, with the Hotel gate closing at a sensible time at night. The information on this aspect was well presented. All in my party thought the waitress serving dinner was overworked. She dealt with all customers on her own, and there were few empty tables, plus a large family group in the annex dining room. We all think she, I noticed her name is Fanny, deserves recognition for her professionalism and excellent service. It also says a lot for the Chef and kitchen staff that all food came out together and was hot. None of us had to wait, and none of us received the wrong food. Overall this was a good hotel for the purpose we used it for, a night stop during a weekend touring the area. However, I do not believe it would have made a good base for more than two nights, because the room, although perfectly serviceable, was rather 'compact' for a longer stay." (3304178328)
Room was clean and functional for an overnight stay. Bathroom was very clean and fresh in appearance. Hygene was very good.
No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Bed was on the hard side of comfortable, and there was only one small pillow each.

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was adequate for our requirements. It was less roomy and more basic than similar accommodation we use in UK. We stayed there only to use it as a place to sleep as we were out all day visiting the Somme Valley and the memorials etc for the Great War. We ate out in local restaurants in the evenings." (3304185649)
It was pretty much what we expected. We had a family room so we could all be together
The room was quite small, very little space to move around. There was not a constant supply of hot water and there were times we were unable to shower because the water was cold.

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"This is a resonable hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly. However the rooms are very small and the facilities are quite basic, the fixtures and fittings are a bit 'tired'. The value is fair." (2800100)
restaurent: evening meals are good quality and a reasonable price. breakfast is very basic (even for a French hotel) and are therefore only fair as an assessement

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"Basic hotel that was good enough for a few nights but not recommended for a long stay. Located in a retail park which was not the ideal location." (2049209)
There were no tea or coffee making facilities and nowhere to purchase them.

Value for money and convenience
We had to leave early before breakfast - would be good if some means of having coffee and perhaps a croissant was available.

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"We have stayed in the Balladin in Calais and Amien, France and know exactly what to expect which is why it is our travel hotel of choice. It was east to book on-line and we were able to phone ahead when we knew we were going to be late due to the ferry from Dover being delayed. The staff were very helpful." (2557574)
It is exactly fit for our purposes when travelling in France. Cheap, comfortable and a very good breakfast before travelling on our way.

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"The accomodation and food was fair for the price. The staff were courteous and helpful. Facilities in the rom were adequate if a little shabby. The buffet offered a good choice and enabled our picky eleven year old to find something he liked. Breakfast was very good and must have suited all tastes." (2367362)
The secure car park as we had a lot of luggage and a bike on the back of the car.
Three people should have three towels etc. Although they were provided when we asked, it was tiresome to have to do so after a long day's travelling.

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"Convenient for our needs and easy to find, but needs some TLC in some of the rooms. One out of four rooms booked was considered good, the others adequate, but in need of some attention." (2548652)
Handy for autoroute and pleasant reception.
A bit short on TLC, tired looking rooms, some beadspreads had holes in.

(2247368)
food was very good and staff helpful
the hotel rooms could do with redecoration and perhaps upgrading of room facilities

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"In the states and in other parts of Europe this room would have cost much less. I was not expecting something grand, but was expecting something cleaner and less like a truck stop. I have stayed in cleaner Motel 6's. Also, there is not a 24 hour desk service. We changed plans after we arrived and actually woke up the service person when we left at 6am. That was very uncomfortable. More importantly, it would be great if the directions told you to look for the exit to Longueau and not Amiens. Even once we found the correct exit the directions were not specific as to which way to turn. We were lost for over an hour looking for this place." (1971059)
Very poor directions (took us over an hour to find), plastic mattress pad, duck taped shower door, smoke filled room, and the double was two singles pushed together.

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"I think that the pre-view of the hotel was Ok and - apart from the rather startling orange bathroom furniture - just as expected. We were comfortable and the stay met all of our basic requirements: Good value, no frills accommodation. We will probably use Balladin-type hotels again. Thank you." (1316749)
I liked the very friendly and helpful staff: I especially mention the Lady Manager who was excellent.
Bed making was poor. No meats or cheese at breakfast

Hôtel Balladins Amiens/Longueau, Longueau - Reviews & Ratings"This was a last minute booking when the self-catering accommodation planned for four nights in France was not forthcoming. It was very reasonable with excellent cuisine. Will not hesitate to use that particular hotel again and tell friends and family about it. We were en route from Dieppe to Calais and Amiens was a wonderful city and surrounding countryside to explore. We have taken the brochure and intend to visit other hotels in the group in France possibly in the future." (1350919)
Excellent evening meal enjoyed very much. Friendliness of staff especially as Mrs Lisney is disabled.

"Would not stay again. Other hotels such as the Campanile are nearby and offer much better service / cleanliness." (97116898)
It was cheap and fairly clean. Staff were reasonably friendly.
We were going to leave as initial rooms smelt so badly of smoke, we couldn't clear the air, despite windows open for more than 1 hr.Breakfast and general surroundings poor.
