  The location is spectacular. The views of the sea and the harbor are the best you will get in the UK. Not only is the hotel very close to these, but the views from the resturant are excellent. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful.

  At the time we stayed there were works going on at the front of the building. It is a 2 star hotel and as such - it is what it is. The walls seemed a bit thin so that we could hear noise from other rooms. Car parking was a bit of a pain in February and so I guess could be a nightmare in the Summer.

  "A wonderful hotel with freindly staff, great location and food to die for. We were just unlucky with the rooms location. At the price we paid I would have expected a better view." (97520348)

  The staff were excellent and the food was very good. The room was very clean and well kept.

  The room had a very small window and looked out over the ventilation shaft from the kitchen. This ventilation shaft was also very noisey and smelly which made sleep a challenge.

  "Was a pleasant hotel and a pleasant location, although I was not aware that a village regatta was taking place when I attended so a lot of people and difficult to park" (97844869)

  very clean rooms with good facilities. Friendly staff

  quite expensive for what it was and the location (I pay similar in London) and the cost of food seemed high for where it was, the bar appeared small with little space to eat food (hence we went somewhere else)

  "I feel for what The Pier House charge per room that the service in the hotel was very poor. The bar staff & restaurant staff however were excellent and in some way made up for this. The hotel staff give the impression of being under staffed and harrased & did not apologise for our room not being ready past the alloted check in time." (97564784)

  The staff in the bar and restaurant were excellent, and the food in the Bistro was very good.

  Our room was not ready for us to check into even though we were almost an hour past the alloted time. We were woken by staff at seven o'clock both mornings talking loudly outside our room and the bar staff emptying the bottles into the bottle bank. When we checked out we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay which I feel is basic customer service & courtesy.

  The location was relaxing after a hard days work, The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I will be staying there again.

  "We enjoyed our stay, and the hospitality, and would be pleased to recommend it to friends, if they wished to stay in the locality." (97363942)

  The staff were most welcoming, and the standard of food was excellent

  The rooms were somewhat cramped - there was little room in the bathroom, for instance - and the layout of the hotel indicated that it had been the amalgamation of two or three properties.

  "Very enjoyable." (107178643)

  The staff were lovely. They couldn't do enough. The food was excellent.

  The single room was very creaky and small. But was still comfortable.

  "We enjoyed our short stay and liked the location, the room was just a little disappointing." (107284524)

  Hotel staff were very friendly and excellent service. Harbour location very pleasent and quiet. The hotel restraurant was very good.

  The room was fairly small and the bed was uncomfortable,needs to be improved. To be fair we know that the hotel is currently under going refurbishment.

  "Overall a very relaxing week in pleasant surroundings." (97201801)

  Staff friendly and helpful. Nice location.

  Booking form requested any dietary needs. We asked for gluten free but on booking in nothing was mentioned and when gluten free bread was requested at breakfast we were told it wasn't available.
