Hotel Porto Mare, Funchal (Madeira) - Reviews & Ratings"Lovely hotel, great situation and excellent value booked through Active Hotels. Funchal is an easy though lengthy walk but the local buses are great value and easy to use. Lots of good restaurants in Funchal and the local area, but excellent restaurants in the hotel too. Hotel spa good, very welcome. All in all, an ideal February break." (97691855)

Very nice relaxed hotel, good breakfast, lovely gardens
Hotel being constructed next door, minimal impact no shuttle bus to town in the evening

Great Hotel, Fantastic pool and the breakfast was brilliant.
Only complaint is not much to do in the town so if sight seeing for you or nightlife don't go here. It's definitely a place for a week of doing nothing, that it's perfect.

We could not stay at the hotel we booked - we were transfered to another hotel because of overbooking

"This hotel is great, especially for young families. There is a great little playroom and a kindergarten, both with lovely facilities. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and personable. We were travelling with our 17 month old son and the staff were very accommodating to his mess - especially at meal times. Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing time at this great hotel. The buffet evening meals were excellent." (97370890)
very large spacious room. The hotel is very well laid out with beautiful grounds. The leisure facilities, especially the pools were fantastic.
