evening meal was excellent and very good value for money
did not find out that a live singing act would be on until we checked in. we were advised that it would finish at 11.30 and it did promptly. If i had read that in the hotel informaion before booking i would not have chosen this hotel. This was due to the fact we had been on the road from an early hour and travelled over 250 miles and had to make the same journey back so we were looking forward to an early night.

Nice meals Quiet Clean, and pleasant service. Located within walking distance of Tesco and a Carvery.
No chair in the room. Curtains could be darker/heavier. Doors could open/shut a bit quieter.

The room was comfortable, but very cold and there was no extra bedding provided or any heating provided. We felt that we were intruding and that the owners had more loyalty to their pub customers than their paying B&B guests." (107601856)
The room was very comfortable and clean with a lovely bed, there was also a nice clean bathroom with soap and shower provided with crisp clean towels.
Unfortunately we were not informed that the hotel was a pub with rooms above and on Friday night we were kept awake by noisy customers in the bar below. However Saturday night was horrendous as they had a band which started at 9pm and went on until 11.45, it was so loud we could hear every word and could not hear the TV above it. The door to the bar was also being opened constantly which caused a loud bang every time. We wanted a relaxing weekend away as my husband has just returned from working away for a long time, but we got hardly any sleep due to this noise and felt we should have been warned about this. When we checked out there was no one to ask us about our stay or to take our keys, the service itself including restaurant service was very cold and almost felt like we were an inconvenience. We would not recommend this hotel to any of our friends.

Very clean and tidy throughout; bed comfortable; bathroom facilities good; easy access to rooms via side entrance.
Slightly limited choice of breakfast options beyond full English and toast. No fruit juice or cereals on offer, for example.

Excellent and friendly staff, and food! BBQ chicken was superb!!! Hotel easy to find, good parking, room very clean and comfortable.
Shower not very hot. Other than that..no bad points at all!

Had to call the hotel from my mobile for someone to unlock the door - no bell system. Who refunds the cost of call?? Can't understand - have I paid twice for the room? Once on the internet and again when I was checking in/out? Unclear in booking procedure

Well run pub with clean, well presented accommodation and friendly service.
Shower a bit odd to organise; no heating in the tiny shower room Breakfast - basic cereals; poor quality cooked breakfast; no egg-cups so no possibility of a boiled egg. Saturday night entertainer - very nice but very loud immediately below our room no. 11). Fortunately stopped around midnight.

Room clean & Tidy and handy location for the event we were attending
Had to stand out in the cold & ring to gain access to the hotel, not good if you dont have a mobile phone. Booking confirmation stated that the price included Full English Breakfast. On arrival told that Breakfast would not be available. Very disappointing and no reduction in rate to compensate either. Also on hotel website it says hairdryer in every room there was no hairdryer. good job my wife took her own

It was close to the company I was visiting
The bed made me itch all night - no breakfast was available early enough the next day - didn't start until 8.30 am which I think is ridiculous!

Very friendly reception. Excellent value for money; good, comfortable accommodation for price.
