"Excellent and would stay again but potentially would not eat in hotel" (107177962)

Room was gorgeous and the bed was amazingly comfortable! Loved the decor and such a clean and spacious space

No dressing gown and food was nothing special

The hotel was beautiful, stined glass windows no **large swedish company** furniture anywhere (apart from the breakfast room). The bedroom was lovely and well equiped. Having a balcony was nice(although the view not so great). Good location for the city centre too.

Breakfast started at 8am and we arrived at 8:30 then waited over 20 minutes in the breakfast room for someone to take our order before we gave up and went elsewhere(no staff!).

The whole experience was excellent from on line booking onwards. The staff were attentive and courteous. The room was extremely nice, particularly having classical music playing as we got into the room. Couldn't fault it!

"We enjoyed our weekend and are considering other hotels in the collection for future breaks." (97184463)

The interior of the hotel was beautiful and had been sympathetically restored to retain some stunning period features, such as the beautiful stained glass windows.

For a five star hotel some aspects of the room were quite disappointing: flaking paint on the doorframe in the bathroom; non-functioning plug in the sink; stained surfaces on the bedside tables.

"an amazing hotel that we will definately be visistng again." (97194746)

The room was much more than we expected for the money we had paid. Myself and my partner were extremely pleased with everything about the hotel.

the phone did not work for room service and the breakfasts were slightly over priced for the amount you got.

    Location

Passkeys never worked. No restaurant and poor quality room service. Staff constantly being trained, ergo inexperienced. Front room too noisy. TV too limited. Internet service should be free or WiFi.

"Staff morale seems low; hotel seems desperately understaffed. Many errors were made, and I witnessed other guests with similar problems. There seems to be new management here, and they are turning a first rate hotel into a mediocre one. Desk staff were particularly inattentive and inconsiderate. System is very disorganised. Hotel desk did not answer incoming calls, all evening, on two consecutive evenings." (97692457)

phone did not work, services were poor.

"It should have been made clear that the hotel has no dining room. It is customary to dine alone in an hotel whilst engaged on business travel. It is quite unusual to go to an external restaurant. For those staying in, the hotel room service menu is very limited. In fcat the hotel could not even provide the advertised green salad on the night of my stay. I would also say that it was poor that the hotel could not provide me with an external line during my stay." (99711691)

it was spacious, comfortable and quiet and very convenient for Leeds railway station.

There is a very poor selection of channels on the TV which itself is rather old-fashioned to the image which the hotel projects.

The suite was very pleasant - particularly the decor and furnishings which were of a good standard and the bed was blissfully comfortable.

We were hoping for an evening of NOT dining out, as we do it a lot and had booked a suite at Quebecs specifically so that we could enjoy good room service food and just relax for the evening. In the end, problems with the kitchens meant that we had to go out, which was really disappointing.

"Excellent quiet location in central Leeds. Being directly over Sous le Nez is a real advantage. The lack of a near by car park is a real disadvantage and the concession rate at the Q car park is minimal. Very difficult to do any thing about the parking situation, I know, but you should try.I will be back again in Leeds next month but I will not be staying with you as I need a car to visit Huddersfield. This is a pity because I liked your hotel and would stay again if I did not need a car. Your staff are excellent." (99257786)

"it was a lovely weekend, roses on bed and champagne both nights, as had romatic package, very impressed. The only downfall i believe was we got a wake up call saturday morning which we didn't ask for, after a late night you can appreciate we didn't enjoy receiving, and also they forgot our breakfast the sunday morning, which should have been in bed. However, this did not ruin the weekend in any way because the hotel was beautiful, and on receiving the last breakfast, it was double the size. Overall, an excellent hotel, which i would definately recommend, especially if you are the romantic type!!!" (3305079902)

there were nice touches, the reception was beautiful and the staff were really helpful.

our room was obviously used as a meeting room at other times as the were cupboards filled with chairs and tables. The bed was tiny and very high, quite scarey! The wet room didn't drain away well and was very wet everywhere

    Welcoming and very comfortable.

A dimmer switch in the bathroom would be handy. There was too much leakage of light from the corridor (even when I put a towel down to cover the gap). When we checked in the recptionist pointed out that we were on the romantic break package and asked what time we'd like the chmapagne and chocolates served. As this was a suprise for my girlfriend it's a shame that I couldn't have been asked by email or a little more subtly.

"Took my girlfriend here for the weekend. We live nearby but I'd just got my bonus so wanted to have a bit of a blast and booked the Romantic Weekend package. I've been past Quebecs hundreds times and not even realised it was a hotel. Staff were really professional and so discreet. The package includes a bottle of champagne, strawberries and chocolates, but when we checked in the girl on reception just asked what time I would like the extras delivering to my room? My girlfriend was intrigued and this added to the whole surprise element of the weekend. The room was a decent size contrary to some of the reports on this site and was covered with rose petals which is something that I didn't know about and definitely made me feel that the hotel makes an effort for its guests. The bath was a good size and was supplied with Molton Brown bubble bath. By the time my girlfriend had had a bath and the champers had arrived she was in seventh heaven. Reception organised a taxi for us to go to the restaurant I'd booked (Brasserie 44 - top notch) so that we could avoid the wintry weather outside and by the time we returned at about 1am we were happy to go the Oak Room for a night cap. I've never come across an Honesty Bar before but it is a very civilised concept - working on the concept that most people aren't thieves and will write down what they drank and allow it to be charged to their room. Breakfast was excellent - they serve until 11am on Sundays - and by the time we checked out we both felt refreshed (if a little hungover). Even then the discretion continued with the girl pointing to the screen to let me know how much I was being charged rather than letting everyone know how much it had been which - for less than " (3304487907)

I found the facilities of the hotel excellent - the room was billed as a single room, so I knew it would be small. It was, but the amenities in the room were excellent - fabulous sheets, towels and quality of furnishings. The toiletries were of a high quality and the bathroom fittings excellent - a great shower. I loved it. Breakfast was good in a very pleasant room, and the guest lounge with the honest bar is quiet and relaxing.

Could have been told at check in about the lounge and breakfast area. As I said, the room was small, and should not be recommended for two people, but fine for one.

"There needs to be some retraining of your check in staff. I was not made to feel welcome on arrival. The receptionist was efficient but it would have been nice to have had a smile or an acknowledgement that I was welcome. Even a grand hotel should acknowledge that guests are human, possible tired and at the end of a journey grateful for a smile and a welcome! ..especially for a single female guest. Otherwise apart from the stain on the undersheet everything was delightful. The room service member of staff asked if I was OK and said he'd turn up the heating if I was cold. We had to chase up the breakfast server in the morning but that was better than being fussed over. I suspect they were running out of raspberries by the time I left." (3304189008)

I chose this hotel principally because of the building and its history. The public rooms were a delight. I liked the honesty system and the fact that room service operated 24h. I was upgraded on arrival which was jolly good.

I was embarassed by the presence of a black stain on the under sheet of the bed clearly visible on the right hand side of the bed. I did not complain because I did not want to spoil the overall pleasant atmosphere.
