  Really lovely meal in the restaurant with good service and very good value for money

  Didn't like blankets on the beds (one of my children has a dust allergy, so really not at all suitable) felt beds were not as clean as they should be. TV dissapointing, really expect at least freeview these days.

  "Thought we were staying in an authentically old building, but found it was modernised.Some old features were still intact.Food and beer/wine was charged at over the odds prices as there is no where else within walking distance." (107673487)

  Room was clean. Staff were polite.

  Exhausted the menu after two nights.Staff were polite but not overly friendly. One choice of fruit juice with B/fast unless you paid for another juice.

  Every member of staff was helpful, polite and friendly. Food was fantastic (I can be quite critical where food is concerned!!lol). Timing for breakfast was very civilised. Accomodation was very cosy, spacious and the bed very comfortable-slept like a log. I would recommend this hotel for complete relaxtion if that's what you need. I would also recommend room 1 especially if staying for a number of nights. It was also good value for money.

  "This hotel is excellent. We had the four poster room, which was fine and lovely shower. Unfortunately you cannot see television on right hand side of bed, because of the drapes. All the staff were very courteous, and nothing too much trouble. It rained most of the weekend, but I would think it would be really lovely with better weather to sit ouside, over looking the countryside. Excellent choice of food, and well presented. Well priced considering the standard of the food. Breakfast really good, with nicely cooked full English breakfast. " (97505047)

  Excellent service apart from what mentioned in bad points

  First mornings breakfast took ages. And other people seated before us were served before us even though they had similar breakfasts. No orange juice and had to wait till that was topped up. Waiter was well mannered and apologetic, but just seemed very disorganised. On arrival room very hot, turned down radiator control, but that didnt work - immediatley informed reception, told it would be sorted. At dinner mentioned to staff about it or could we have some pliers to fix it, again said it would be sorted. After dinner mentioned to lady who informed us her husband looked after DIY and she would ring him and it would be sorted. Then followed very unpleasant night, with both windows open. At breakfast we complained and staff on duty said something about timeswitch and he would turn it off. And it WOULD be sorted whilst we were out that day. On our return at 4pm room the same. Gave up - had mentioned to 4 members of staff, no result. So followed another hot night.

  "Staff friendly, courteous, helpful. They tried for WiFi for me, management denied access. Good local knowledge of walks etc. Food of good quality." (97481365)

  Recently refurbed room, good facilities. Typical Cotswold pub with rooms.

  Should switch to duvets. No WiFi facilities - this is now an essential and should be free and from within the room, or main building acceptable. There was WiFi in the main building but no access allowed, would not release security key. This should not have been a problem, reasons given were spurious unless they had very slow broadband. So no Web or Email access during stay.

  "The Inn was comfortable, clean and friendly. The staff was attentive, helpful and professional. As a single traveller I felt relaxed and not at all awkward. The food was very good. I think some effort had been made to source local produce. My room, although small being a single, was warm and the bed comfortable. Being on the main road it was quite noisy. I felt that my shower needed upgradeing. I would stay here again, but ask for a room facing away from the main road." (97758897)

  The Staff were friendly, helpful and most accommodating. The bed was comfortable.

  My en suite shower was not very powerful, and the curtain dividing the en suite from the bedroom was a suprise, however I realise that a door would probably have been intrusive in a small area.

  "This was a good place to stay and we would recommend it. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly at all times. It was an unusual combination of hotel and pub which gave it a unique feeling. Lounge chairs added to the level of comfort while waiting for a meal or just taking 'time-out'. The only minor drawback was the lack of smoking facilities for those staying in the rooms. As non-smokers we experienced smoking guests 'congregating' in the forcourt area just outside our room after midnight and they seemed to forget that others were trying to sleep." (97742536)

  We had Room 1 in the hotel which was ideal for our purpose. There was a small lounge on the ground floor, with bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Very comfortable and somewhere nice to relax other than the hotel lounge.

  The spiral staircase could cause a problem if one had a walking disability and the low beams on the bedroom could give an unexpected headache if you didn't duck in time.
