Room was beautifully decorated, plasma tv and very comfortable clean beds.
Restaurant food was very disappointing, lamb tasted "processed" and was not fresh, strawberries for desert were still frozen and ice cream was poor quality. We were only customers at evening meal and this made us feel a little awkward. Also booked resataurant online to recieve

Good location in centre of town, spacious room.
Reception staff a bit vague, initially could not find booking on arrival. On checking out no one was on duty. Had to find a member of staff in restaurant to assist. Receptionist had gone out to buy newspapers. Account was incorrect.

THE ONLY MINUS POINT WAS THAT THE LIFT ONLY WENT TO THE FIRST FLLOR, BUT WE WERE ASKED IF WE WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE ROOMS TO IF STAIRS WERE TOO MUCH. wOODHALL SPA WAS THE HOME TO THE DAMBUSTERS IN THE WAR, SO VERY INTERESTING." Very good position, central for everything but at the same time quiet. Excellent parking spaces.
Only that it was updated to a very modern interior, whereas the exterior is old-fashioned. Ont the whole though excellent hotel.

The only complaint being the very noisy inconsiderate locals in the bar.I understand other complaints were also received." (99666987)
The hotel has been tastefully renovated whilst retaining some of the character of the lovely old building.The meals were excellent but maybe alittle more choice especially fish would be good.
we were on the top floor and had no telephone. A dressing table mirror with light would have been an advantage.

Staff very friendly we arrived before the check-in time and they gave us a bedroom to change and freshen up in and then moved our bags to our room while we went out. Big plasma TVs in the bedroom if you like that sort of thing. Breakfast very good. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone." (99712695)

All was clean and in working order and adapted for disabled guests (not needed in our case) - but strangley there were no shelves or anywhere similar to put toiletries - both around the basin and in the shower encosure." We chose this hotel for this stay after having a look round on our last visit to Woodhall Spa, before the refurbishment was complete. Attention to detail and staff were friendly. The spacious, newly refurbished room. Light and airy with modern fixtures, including of course the 42 Television !
I had a bit of trouble getting the shower to the right temperature.

Woodhall Spa Hotel, Lincoln - Reviews & Ratings"Although you are newley refurbished, and some work is unfinished, i base my thoughts on that which I saw. The building is lovely and original features retained wherever- well done. Sadly, the interior decorators are not working in sympathy with it at all. The carpet is basically terracotta, stone and buttermilk - so why pick the darkest shade for the walls of the dining room? On the rainy days it was pitch dark in there and the lighting was, once again, awful - wall lights with a pale orange glow and then a bunch of Ikea-type steel spots stuck on the ceiling! make up your minds - are you going to be contemporary or period? your current attempt to blend the two is not just unsuccessful, it actually makes the guest uncomfortable. Bedrooms should have hairdryers as standard and also irons and boards - i was amazed at the lack of both. The food was excellent- my dinner was good value and the staff were most attentive. Breakfast was a little disapointing- arriving after nine meant dried up fried eggs and burned mushrooms - nonetheless, I am sure you will improve as time passes and your building works are completed." It was very clean. The bed was new and comfortable. the bedlinen was very good quality. there were sufficient pillows and towels. the bath towels were a good size.
The lighting was awful- not enough light by the bed or over the dressing table. No mirror over the dressing table/desk. i don't watch TV. so your flat screen monster did nothing for me. I felt the room was poorly arranged. The window blinds were infuriating -slow to descend, prone to tangling. in the bathroom, which was spacious but open to the view of all in the garden, one had to lower four blinds before being able to perch atop the lavatory. Although there was a lovely window cill, there was nowhere near the basin to put flannel, toothpaste etc. plastic cups are so naff, even cello-wrapped. and if you stand your toothbrush and paste in them they fall over.

Woodhall Spa Hotel, Lincoln - Reviews & Ratings"Overall a pleasant stay - staff very helpful and accommodating. Disappointed with the room as although freshly refurbished, was cramped. It was also noisy and stuffy due to being over the kitchens (generator constantly running which was very intrusive) and had we been aware of its position when we booked,would have asked for a different room. However, a fan was provided to us on request and we were informed that the noisy generator would be turned off when the kitchen closed at 10.30pm but this did not happen." (3305159089)

Privacy from blinds at the windows left a lot to be desired and it does seem that with a little more thought about decore ie; pictures in the room our stay although brief would have encouraged us to have extended the stay. Still a little work going on. They were finishing off the terrace at the back of the hotel when I was there, but not at all intrusive. Food really good and staff very friendly." (3305039522)

Woodhall Spa Hotel, Lincoln - Reviews & Ratings"Upon arrival no-one was on reception, an off duty employee in shorts and T shirt came over to check us in as we had been waiting so long. We arrived at 2pm after a 5 hour journey and at 2.30pm tried to order sandwiches for lunch, only to be told they had stopped serving food. We had to go to another local hotel (The Golf) for lunch. The hotel was unfinished and a JCB was driving around the garden. At breakfast the following morning we all ordered 2 x full english and 2 x smoked haddock. The full english's arrived and then we were told they had run out of haddock! We ordered 2 more full english breakfasts and had to wait another half an hour. When they arrived we were told they had run out of bacon! Breakfast took 1 1/2 hours for our party to eat! It was obvious that the staff were still being trained - it took 20 mins to check out! We would liked to have know how 'raw' this hotel was before booking 2 double rooms, which was supposed to be a treat!" (3304869675)
We booked two rooms. The one we were given was an attic room with no window in bathroom and no fan. We overlooked the food preparation areas and the noise and smells were loud and strong. No fire instructions in our room. No shower screens, no hot water and the room was so unbearably hot we could not sleep.
