close to town centre and local pubs and shops
the hotel inspector would contemn the place (burned out shower in next room ,no locks in shared toilet and bathroom ,i could go on)

Clean rooms, with standard ensuite facilities. Room cleaned every day Ownerand staff friendly advised of local facilities such as take-aways and pub which he used himself. Secure carpark at back.
Only one key per room. A bigger TV would have been nice.

Bedding very clean and good breakfast. Were able to bring takeaway food to bedroom as there was no restaurant.
Hotel smelt of somebody smoking, especially in reception area.

cheapish
annoyingly small tv on a wall socket the other side of the room. The tv had a sky channel that was constantly changed by whoever was on duty, couldn't even watch one full program. The bed was missing a slant board which meant my head was lower than my feet. Issues with the heating.

The hallways and room were clean and comfortable and there is a car park at the rear with a locking gate.
The exterior is shabby and the shower in my room did not work.

Vale Hotel, Kingston upon Hull - Reviews & Ratings"Some of their doors shut with a loud bang, meaning that your neighbours can (and will) keep you up all night with their coming and going. Also, the house is not good quality and the walls are too thin, meaning more noise. We had a really hard time trying to sleep -which is what we actually paid for. They should also dry the walls in the downstairs rooms -they are getting fungus infected and smelly. The rooms were luminous and warm although a bit over priced those without en-suite toilette. It's not a bad place but I have paid less for better places (have I been unlucky this time or very lucky the others?). Some small lights next to each bed would be good and also a small fridge in each room (my friends' room had fridge and microwave, mine didn't have anything)." (97783320)
The parking looked safe and the hotel was conveniently located for the city centre as well as easy to find. The hot water worked well.
The walls are too thin and the doors closed very noisy what made difficult to sleep (at the end of the day, it is what you have paid for)

Staff where extremely helpful and friendly though not intrusive. Rooms are basic but well laid out with all the little extras to make ones stay more restful, tea/coffee facilities in the room, television and wifi internet access. The rooms are extremely clean and cleaned on a daily basis which too is a bonus when staying long term anywhere. Secure parking is an added bonus." (97503356)
Extremely clean and very tidy. Rooms where pleasant and warm, Shower room was superb and staff where extremely helpful. Secure Parking was an added bonus : )
personally I would have liked an extra pillow but as I didnt go and ask for one that was my fault not the hotels.

very helpful friendly staff,although the decor was grubby it was about to be updated and the beds and bedding although white were imaculate and all equipment was in good working order.
radiator didnt heat up for a couple of hours when switched on and one evening didnt work at all.coffee wasnt replaced and the bin was only emptied once

wow, where to start: - everything looks shabby, from the stairway to the room - shared bathroom has no lock - television has just one programm - no mirror or basin in the room - I could hardly stand upright (at 6 ft 4)

The bathroom was clean
The Guest House was being furbished. Lots of banging and wet paint on the doors handles. There was some glue on the bedcloths.

hotel staff was friendly.satellite tv and free parkin,enuite bathroom,only suitable if travelling in group of friends (maybe)
filthy appearance ,cold room with heater turned on only in nights for few hours ,no hot water in shower ,and overall not dirty but filthy appearance
