"Let down by quality of food. This more worrying as dur to location little option." (107503955)

Facilities, especially the pool were good

We had an evening meal and the food quality was just that of mainstream pub. This made worse as we had to send back my wife's main course as the middle remained almost frozen.

"There good have been a little more attention to detail in respect to cleanliness. The room could do with a bit of a makeover, tatty net curtains and a couple of small bits of wallpaper peeling away. Staff were really nice and the food was excellent.Great breakfast." (99127230)

Comfy bed with a good view

Room a tiny bit tatty in places

    Staff attentive and cheerful.

Looks drab and unkempt. Needs decorating and updating.

It was within walking distance of Leeds Castle

Not room to swing a kitten..let alone a cat! Poor value for money

"Hotel and staff were both excellent. Facilities both indoor and outdoor were again excellent and gave a good point to relaxation from a busy couple of days." (107698542)

At 6 foot 5 inches tall I found both the bed and shower were excellent. All facilities and restaurant were excellent.

Sauna was out of order and the Jacuzzi water temperature was low.

"I think you get what you pay for......... but next time I would probably pay the extra and go somewhere else. " (107480195)

    booking on line was easy

language barrier with reception staff, tap hanging out of the bathroom wall, coleslaw was off when we ordered room service, room cleaning staff woke us up the following morning yelling down the corridor at each other.

"The hotel was in a pleasant setting, staff were welcoming but the points I've just mentioned let the hotel down. In addition, the varied spelling of questionnaire gives a bad impression of the hotel." (107282303)

Staff generally were friendly and helpful.

There seemed to be inefficiency in the restaurant. Some of the staff appeared to need more training. Plates were not cleared away. Drinks were taken to the wrong tables. Food was adequate but not spectacular. Steam from bathrooms activated the fire alarms, why not put more efficient fans in the bathrooms. To avoid accidents when using the shower, why not put hand rails in the bathrooms.

"i feel the overall experience was very satisfactory and the hotel itself as well as the room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. the only point i might like changed would be the room service and hotel restaurant prices being reduced slightly. I had the breakfast in the morning and although it was enjoyable enough, i felt it was a high price for what i got. i did not order any room service as the prices put me off but would certainly have been tempted had the prices been 20% lower. However, for a 4 star hotel I suppose this should have been expected." (99837229)

"This hotel proved very good value for money, with superb facilities for sport or just relaxing, friendly and professional staff and excellent food. It has the bonus of being located in huge open grounds down in the beautiful Garden of England, with the stunning Leeds Castle on its doorstep and the County town of Kent, Maidstone, only 4 miles away. Even the weather was great!" (108039212)

"Comfortable stay. A sign in the car park to Reception would have been helpful! Breakfast very good. Restaurant staff night and morning excellent but evening meal was a disappointment. We also heard someone else complain. We had to wait far too long for a simple cold starter and then our main courses arrived as the first was taken away. It had clearly been ready for some time and had been re-heated. The sauce had a skin on it." (97083459)

It was a perfectly good standard room such as you would find in many hotels.

"Restaurant food was great (better than expected, given that the menu is prob the same wherever you stay!)and we were particularly impressed with the (head?) waiter's concern over our teenage boys' peanut allergy. We weren't very impressed with the bar entertainment, a female vocalist, and beat a hasty retreat once we'd eaten!! She was much too loud for such a small bar area ( and we could still hear her from our room on the first floor....) We enjoyed being able to use the pool. We wouldn't hesitate to return for an overnight stay ( we were there for a go-kart meeting in Sittingbourne on Saturday)" (99411102)

"The hotel is easy to find and is set in beautiful grounds. Staff are all very helpful and very informative. Its only a quick 5-10 minute drive into the town centre of Maidstone by car and there is plenty of parking around town however if you do not want to drive into town the bus service only runs every 2 hours (on Saturdays). It is only a 5 minute walk to one of the entrances to Leeds Castle. It is the perfect location for a weekend away." (3305484240)

Nice room, good view, very quiet. Good leisure/relaxing faclities.

Couldn't book a massage as the one beauty therapist had gone home. Room service took over an hour to come and only ordered soup and a sandwich, but bread was stale and the crips were stale too. Couldn't be bothered to complain as it took over an over to get it!

"The reason we stayed here was because it is so close to Leeds castle. I think the room was a let down in that the lights were not working and that it was very tight between the end of the bed and the fitted furniture, the gap was not really big enough to walk around the bed comfortably." (3305122527)

    The breakfast was excellent

The room was not set out very well.

The restaurant had a smashing menu and again, the staff were impeccable - also , as we were there on a Saturday, there was entertainment and it was really professional without being intrusive on our meal. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for all age groups, and I would imagine it would be great for family functions such as birthdays or weddings." (3305069993)

"The hotel is an excellent place to stay if you are attending one of the open air concerts at Leeds Castle. The entrance to the castle grounds is only a couple of minutes walk but there is quite a long trek to the concert venue from the entrance." (3304906555)

The room was clean and presentable and all the domestic staff were friendly and helpful.

Our main gripe was the quality of the breakfast. There was an excellent range of juices, cereals, fruit etc but the cooked breakfast was awful. The mushrooms were soggy and bitter tasting and the scrambled egg was inedible.

"We travelled from manchester to see james blunt in concert a leeds castle.when we returned from the concert it was about 10 .15 and the bar area was packed-there were no seats left and people were not allowed to sit anywhere else. After waiting at the bar to be served for 45 minutes my husband and i got rather fed up as we were tired and hungry.we decided to go to our room and order room service and then we realised that the ONLY person serving on the bar was the person answering calls for room service.we cannot understand that when there IS a large event going on at leeds there was no provision made for the people staying at the hotel. We did bring this problem to the attention of reception along with other guests but were told there were no more staff available to use on the bar...." (3304326164)

The room itself was clean and well equiped.

The room was very small and to get to it you had to walk through corridors that smelt very musty.I would not have like to have spent qnother night here.

"Although the fixture and fittings are a little dated, for a one night stay I feel that this hotel is generall of a good standard although you do need to read the small print re breakfast not being included. Its location next door to Leeds Castle makes it great for the summer events as you can walk to the event. Taking the dated facilities into account, I do not think this would stop me staying at the hotel again but it was not to the usual standard I expect of a Ramada Hotel." (3304364002)

The hotel is set in a lovely location right next door to Leeds Castle. The room was a good size with everything we needed - especially the biscuits after our long journey. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in.

The hotel did not include breakfast within the tariff which was an additional expensive

The hotel is ideally situated for Leeds Castle, food very good, breakfast excellent, good service.

The room was adequate but far too hot - we needed to keep the windows open all night. The bathroom was adequate but dated. Overall there was nothing specific to complain about but I expected better for the money.

"Not bad, I've stayed before because the hotel is easy to get to and gives access to where I need to get to. The hotel does not seem to want single people staying at weekends (I booked a double room in the end) which makes this an expensive stay. I've taken to sleeping with earplugs when staying because of the noise." (3304820749)
