The staff was excellent and held some items that were excess to our travels on motorcycle. The historical setting is a plus for my interests.

The bar is too noisy for my tastes and limited the amount of time that I could stay comfortably.

    "Poor value for money" (107265765)

Hotel was further away from the Wedding venue than we were led to believe at time of booking

"Hotel room comfortable and clean. " (107298037)

Breakfast was cooked well, Staff pleasant.

The standard of the dinner was disappointing. It is a pity that the breakfast room could not have been used for the evening meal instead of the bar - this would have been appreciated from the point of view of a single female traveller.

"Enjoyed my stay, would use again." (107126411)

Good location. Nice clean bedroom and comfortable bed. Portable ventilation fan was switced on prior to my arrival which was much appreciated.

Poor ventilation due to very small louvre windows, room got very hot. Some outside noise from early morning deliveries.

"Had to buy fish and chips for supper and made do with a breakfast bar purchased from the 7/11 co-op shop next door for breakfast." (97216799)

Clean tidy and facilities all in working order.

No breakfast available to early starters and no food after 9pm.

"When booking it appears to be a pub, but is in fact more of a restaurant than a local. Pleasant location by marina, but not much else to do for entertainment close by. Unusual process when booking, that all card details are taken but you haven't paid ! The discussion on arrival is that people always think this. You then pay on arrival ! Staff were friendly and helpful." (97603486)

Room was clean and functional. Very comfortable and everything worked !

Not much to do in direct vicinity.

"Excellent accomodation, Restaraunt was not open the night I stayed but Bar food was good. Real ales on tap a big plus. Staff were efficient and friendly. Overall a pleasant stay and good value. I would definately stay in future when in Rochester" (97526644)

Interesting individual premises with an appropriate Nautical theme.

I forgot to mention when I checked out that the Television in the room was not watchable, but it didn't really bother me.

"not a lot wrong with this pub - not a lot of frills but good solid value for money with the staff on hand and helpfull. Good size rooms not suitable for handicaped (internal stairs)" (97553428)

easy going, near to good shopping mall

building site next door had tower cranes which made TV useless

"Great location, good car parking. Near excellent entertainment including Dickens World (great for kids and adults); an Odeon Multi Cinema complex, many films on offer all within walking distance, although there was adequate parking if you did not want the walk. Modern factory outlet complex with famous names.Chatham Historic Docks only a few minutes away, where you could spend the day, even the ladies would enjoy it. The main problem was the lack of watchable TV (due to ghosting). Why do they not have cable or Sky TV?" (97167947)

Great location, great staff. Fantastic views over marina. Quiet location ie no noise from the bar. Fresh crisp bedding.

They were having problems with TV (terrestrial) due to large block of luxury flats being built near by, which meant ghosting made the TV unwatchable; BUT staff stated it had only recently happened and their head office had been informed. Why do they not have cable or Sky TV?

"Access can be gained via the ground level public bar or by a separate swipe key protected external door, the reception area is at one end of the public bar. The accommodation is at first floor level, accessible by a single flight of stairs or lift. The rooms lead off a central corridor, half of which over look the car park and converted dock-land complex and the other half the yacht bason. My room was of good size, clean and seemed to have all the amenities that you would expect. I didn't dine in the hotel but I believe food is served in the public bar and hotel restaurant. A full English or continental style breakfast is served. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly, deviating slightly from the set breakfast menu was not a problem for example. I would recommend this hotel especially for the business traveler which was the purpose behind my stay." (97929187)

I had a twin room that I found to be clean and comfortable. The on suite bathroom was in good order and clean.

From the car park it wasn't clear where the entrance to the hotel was. The portable TV remote didn't work, I suspect the batteries were flat, a common problem in many hotels. The single bed duvet was a little narrow, just over lapping the sides of the bed. Broadband internet access is via cable link and not wireless.... internet access isn't free to residents as most Hotels are beginning to offer.

"Location of the hotel is ideal for a visit to the dockyard. Evening meal was great value for the money, although the bar was quite noisy. Some rooms are over the entrance to the co-op and chip shop which can make it noisy and smelly if you have the windows open." (99074871)

clean, nice layout, plenty of space

smell from the chip shop and deliveries to the co-op at 4 am!

Unusual building, comfortable room, good food, good value

The noise at 6 am of a delivery to the Co-Op next door!

"your online booking system does not work, although i had the e-mailed confirmation in my hand, they had no record of me making the booking. I lost the rooms i thought i had and had to settle for twin rooms! NOT GOOD ENOUGH! The hotel on the otherhand was great, just need to sort the front end out, IE...YOU!" (3305264488)

"Overall it was very disappointing. The literature forgets to mention that the accommodation is attached to the CO-OP and a fish and chip shop. The pub food ranged from the excellent to average. Whilst the staff were very friendly and pleasant there were many small niggles e.g. not being told a part of the pub was reserved for residents to eat in." (99029905)

rooms very clean, staff very friendly

they had got our booking wrong - and did not offer to sort it out straight away. The restaurant was closed and there was no indication of this in the literature.

"Overall, the stay was quite good as the room was generally fresh and comfortable and the breakfast was great. We would have liked to know a little more about the area and the restaurant facility at the pub, as it is rather basic. We would recommend an overnight stay here as we feel there is little to select from in Chatham and the pub is very convenient for the dockyard and factory outlet." (99898025)

Generally clean and had all the 'bits and pieces' required. Breakfast was very good.

The blinds would not close and we were unable to sleep once it became light. We did mention this when checking out and were told the blinds will be replaced by curtains. This will help other travellers, sadly not us! Please ensure all light bulbs work, one of ours didn't. Try dusting the lamps too! A TV remote would have been nice.

"The hotel was as we expected, although the picture on the website in no way does justice to the hotel itself. The rooms are clean and well fitted. The staff are very friendly, and the pub sells Shepherd Neame on draft! We were told that the pub (not the hotel rooms as they are all fairly newly decorated) is due a re-fit later this year to make it a more personal atmosphere, which will add to the quality of the hotel. The hotel also has historic connections, in that it used to be an Apprentice Workshop when the Maritime Quarter was a Naval Dockyard. It is within walking distance of the Historic Dockyard and Retail Outlet." (3305126209)

Friendly staff, clean rooms, lovely breakfast
