Your computer system failed to book me in although I had printed confirmation. I was extremely lucky to find an alternative on a bank holiday weekend. I will not be risking any travel arrangements in the future with such an unreliable system.

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"Could be a great little hotel if more attention paid to cleanliness of rooms, if cooked breakfast available and general management improved. Wouldn't like to stay there on disco night! Wouldn't stay again because of dirt, and local relatives won't be recommending it either. No bad enough to ruin our stay, but improvements needed." (97873672)
Bed comfortable, general decor quirky and unusual, close to relatives and facilities, bar friendly and comfortable. Staff friendly but thin on the ground.
Bathroom not very clean; pubic hairs in bath. Dust and dirt behind dressing table, carpet very stained and filthy, downstairs bar still smells strongly of cigarette smoke and stale carpets, no cooked breakfast available.

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"the hotel was value for money. I only needed the hotel as somewhere to sleep so it was ideal for me. the area didnt feel particularly safe at night with gangs of people and clubbbers so it wouldnt suit someone looking for a relaxing break. " (97848242)
the room itself was clean and recently decorated. the room was comfortable and the hotel was ideally located opposite the train station
dated ensuite shower room and with no airconditioning, the room did get rather warm. Although plenty of parking near by there were a lot of youths hanging around drunk and running around the carpark late at night. The reception for the hotel was locked so we had to go into the bar to book in, with suitcases and a full pub it wasnt ideal. the hotel was also attached to a night club which played loud music at night.

Close proximity to station and business location. Ideal if not travelling by car as no parking facilities. Comfortably equipped in rooms but no telephones & no mobile signal in the rooms at the back of the hotel. Bar meals are of excellent quality and value for money.
Some female travellers may find it intimidating to have to walk into a public bar in order to check into the hotel. Breakfast has to be ordered and paid for in advance the night before required, so unable to decide on the morning what you want. Monday nights not recommended as Kareoke held in the bar and the night club is open 'til 2.00am

Room was comfortable and clean.
The check-in was a bit slap dash. We had to go into the bar to register and were given the key but not told where the room was. Never saw anyone at the hotel reception the whole time we were there.

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"Surprisingly close to train station although this was not a problem, no allocated parking, carparks nearby but at a cost & insecure in our opinion, having said that our car survived unscathed for 4 nights. Would recommend hotel provided customers are made aware of noise from both nightclub & racing cars." (3305397697)
Victorian style, recently decorated hotel, convenience of a pub downstairs, close to seafront, town centre, public transport.
Noise from nightclub, particularly fri & sat nights at closing time, also 'boy racers' using outside road as a racecourse!

It was a clean and tidy room.
Where do I start! The live band playing till 11.30pm. The noise from the streets, trying to get into the locked part of the hotel reception and it being part of a hotel and never seeing one hotel staff member.

The location - ideal with it being opposite the railway station. Close enough to hospital - where I worked. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff
the noise - I did not realise it was above a pub, karaoke and nightclub. This was my error as it is stated on internet. If I had been working the next morning (rather than the afternoon) I would have had to move.

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"A very idiosyncratic hotel! Suited us but may not suit everyone! Be prepared for odd events! We'd stay here again but that was largely due to the friendly and helpful staff and the fact that they took responsibility for things which should have been sorted out by the manager!" (107940801)
room: very quiet, clean, well equipped. staff: charming and very friendly
Manager seemed to be on another planet.. couldn't be bothered to come down as we booked in. Double booking (but a member of staff went to a lot of trouble to get us in...)

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"I didn't know breakfast wasn't included & it had to be ordered at the bar & paid for the afternoon before which is not helpful when you are trying to get to a wedding( ordering & paying for 8 adults + 3 children) & you have no time spare. So we didn't get breakfast on Sunday. The lack of designated reception staff meaning booking in is done at the bar with smokers & drinkers is not presenting a good image to the hotel guests. Also we needed a cot for my 1 year old grandaughter but the only one in the hotel given to us was broken so she had to sleep with her parents on a very hot night." (3304737832)
The room was nicely furnished & fittings good. The staff were helpful but not very quick with booking us in, we were very limited on time as had to get to a wedding.
The environment- loud music from bar & night club, traffic noise & people leaving night club shouting out to each other.

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"I was disappointed with my stay generally but the worst aspect was the obvious lack of care in preparing the room. The carpet had not been vaccuumed and was in poor condition, the bed cover appeared unclean and I had no confidence in the cleanliness of the ensuite or towels. There was a general air of age about the whole room." (3304897974)
The Big Screen in the bar area to watch the football
1.Dirty/untidy room, 2.old/cracked wash basin/toilet, 3.unvacuumed carpet, 4.broken front on small portable TV, 5.no remote control for TV, 6.no sign of any receptionist either when I arrived, at 18:40, or when I left at 08:30. 7.Earliest breakfast was at 08:30 (when I had to leave)

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"The general look of the hotel was nice and the staff were polite and friendly although we did come across the following problems... The radiator was on in the bathroom with a 30 degree heat outside. Mentioned it to staff and was told the heating was off!!!(although they did say they'd check it for us). We ordered a continental breakfast the night before which was fine, until we realised in the morning we had no cutlery to eat cereal with or spread butter/jam! As the bar was shut we were unable to find any staff to assist us. Nearly cut finger trying to adjust the windows and there were no curtains/blinds in bathroom so had to hang suit bag up to stop people outside seeing us on the toilet/in the shower (had small frosted area of glass but only covered you if you are under 4 foot tall). Although the staff were nice enough, we probably wouldn't book at this particular hotel again." (3304735802)
It had beds and a tv.
Where do we start??? See general view!

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"This hotel is ideal for a budget stay in Worthing or for weekends visiting Brighton. The rooms are very recently refurbished to a high standard (with plasma TVs etc), and the staff are genuinely excellent. It is very conveniantly located right next to Worthing station, and about 20mins drive from Brighton town centre. The food was also outstanding. The 'Mega Burgers' we had for lunch on the Saturday were freshly made, and pretty much the best burgers we'd ever eaten! Top Marks" (99691995)
The staff were absolutely exceptional before and during our stay. They arranged special circumstances to accommodate our party, and were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms were of a very high standard and very spacious, especially considering the reasonable pricing.
The showers were quite low-powered

The room was bigger than expected everything in place although the lighting could have been better, an extra light would make getting ready a lot easier, breakfast was not included this was extra.

Grand Victorian Hotel, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings"On arrival and checking in I was extremely aprehensive there was no one on reception and we had to go into the bar to check in and along with the fact that they wrote down your card details even though you used chip & pin to pay which concerns us still. On admission to the hotel and indeed the room was very pleasantly surprised, the room was excellent, everything new and great decor even a plasma tv on our wall. Due to the refurbishment it was clear there are a few 'snagging' jobs to be dealt with but overall great. We ate an evening meal in the pub and I have to say this is not for the faint hearted! Portions were huge! But very nice recommend the sausage & Mash. Staff very obliging the place is relaxed and friendly, directly opposite the train station and handy for taxi's. Although there is a nite club next door so unless your up for clubbing maybe Fri/Sat night are not for you. Would reccomend otherwise all in all great value for money." (99957970)
Room was fantastic had been refurbished decor and facilities were excellent. Staff were very helpful
Checking in process also even though you paid in advance for the room with your card and PIN they also took your card number including security number which was very worrying indeed

The bar should stay open a little longer though!! The rooms were fine - though one apparently didnt have wide screen when the others all did!! The lad who checked us in was helpful as we had a slightly less able lady with us so he made sure she didnt have loads of stairs to struggle up." (99470293)
Friendly staff, catered to all our needs. Clean rooms, fairly spacious.
