"In general the hotel met most standards but I would suggest the following could improve the impression given: 1) Make sure that it is possible to open and shut the windows. 2) Look into the possibility of double/triple glazing those rooms immediately above the night club - or at least provide earplugs. 3) There were a few places e.g. the non-working lifts and cleaners cupboards where the contents were visible through the glass, these detract from the overall impression, concealing this better would provide a cheap improvement to the overall look and feel. PS: Whilst I would be willing to use the hotel again myself - I could not recommend it due to the high levels of noise from the night club." (97698736)

Most importantly the accommodation was clean, spacious and had all the expected facilities.

The major let down was the noise until late of the club downstairs, this linked to the single glazed windows that were impossible to shut made for a very noisy first part of the night.

"Not as good a service as last time and would not recommend the Burlington Hotel. I had told people to book there because it was good and felt extremely embarrassed as we came down the night before my sons wedding. Our party consisted of 4 couples and my mother in law , some of whom booked themselves in after my recommendation. The shower water was extremely hot and after attempting to regulate it before getting into the shower it changed back to boiling and I ended up burning my feet, having to quickly get out to turn it off and starting again. The television did not work in all the rooms All breakfasts took half an hour after ordering to arrive and my husbands english breakfast had been left to harden under the grill whilst ours was being cooked." Staff very friendly and helpful, good location for Worthing

Sash windows had no lock, rattled within their frames, room and hotel way too hot, tap/shower only supplied scalding water, beds too small for adults, bathroom only had a shower

"I was somewhat annoyed by the flippant attitude of the staff when we returned to the hotel after a meal out. All doors were locked, in spite of notices on the main door directing us round the corner to the bar. When we were let in, the young man on duty thought things very amusing _ That's how we make our money On booking in we noticed that there was a wedding reception on in the hotel, but were assured that this was confined to a particular area and would not affect residents in the main bar. This proved not to be the case." (99545183)

The room was small, but adequate.

There were none of the usual items, such as soap, showere gel, etc., in the room. This was obviously an oversight, as my colleague's room did have some items.

"The noise from the hotel nightclub is unacceptable and led to me having sleepless nights. Although the rest of the hotel experience was OK, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to the noise at night." (107214608)

The hotel is located close to the beach and town centre.

There is a nightclub at the hotel which is very noisy, and can be clearly heard in the bedrooms until at least 2am in the morning. This kept me awake each night. There is no car parking available hence you need to find a space outside on the street and pay for parking tickets over and above the cost of the hotel room.

There is no excuse for very shody and lightweight furnishings along with a mattress so old cleaning instructions were in Latin. Well dont get me started on the shower If you are not going to provide a bath for god's sake make the shower cubicle big enough for a grown up" (3305346528)

"Staff very helpful indeed, food good, we had room service food one night (roast beef/horseradish baguette & bottle wine) - was excellent. Bar area and sitting room area lovely. Could not fault. Whilst our room was airy, sunny, bright and spacious, and felt very private, its furnishings were rather spartan and basic. Would have preferred something a little cosier. Couldn't see TV from bed (TV too low down, style of bed prevented clear view). Bathroom awfully basic, bare minimum of smellies, rather grim lino floor. Overall, we had a lovely time, but felt two nights enough and moved on elsewhere. Felt it a little bit basic for the cost (£95 per night)." (3304224724)

Room bright, sunny, airy, super views, spacious, private (felt quite separate from rest of hotel)

found facilities in room a little basic for £95/night. A bit bare minimum, possibly a little spartan/not cosy feel to the room

Clean room,. Checking out time was late (11am) and staff seemed relaxed about staying beyond this time. Breakfast was good and available until 10am which is nice if you've been out the night before and fancy a lie-in.

Lack of free parking. Being charged

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Room was clean and the extra bed had been made and installed prior to arrival.

Only negative point is that we were on the top floor and the lift was out of order.

"Apart from the breakfast fiasco I thought the hotel was fine, it suited us for just one overnight stay." (97448979)

    Position of hotel

No car parking vouchers as advertised, had to park the car about 10 min walk away but was told that this was due to Worthing Council not supplying the vouchers. Breakfast service was dire, requested fresh fruit salad and it took 45 minutes to arrive, my partner had finished his cooked breakfast and I was still waiting. Twice we were told it wouldn't be long and then was told that the chef was busy cooking the English breakfasts. Waitresses cleared everything away so although I was still waiting, I then couldn't have more juice etc. Second coffee wasn't offered. Another table that waited for cooked breakfasts (which were wrong when they arrived) asked for more toast and were told chef had finished. The man politely suggested that maybe she could put some bread in the toaster.

All the staff which we came into contact with where kind and courtious and knew what they where doing, we would love to come back agqain soon, The only problem we had was the campbed put in the room which collapsed on my friend it was very funny tho and we where not charged for it. in all it was a fantastic stay, the breakfast was great and the staff where lovely and we will be going again" (97539511)

However another room was made available, as this was possible! could have been an issue if full. The receptionist was very helpful in explaining and sorting the problem. we are not sure how it happened - as we clearly stated it was for a family of 4! Otherwise a stress free and enjoyable stay." "We would have liked to have been told it contained a bar and club and that it was likely to be noisy on New Year's Eve until well into the morning. Instead we were told that it would be quiet as we were well away from the nightclub on the pier. The lift obviously hadn't been working for some time and we could easily have been told about this as we spoke to them over the telephone after booking. Apart from that, everything was brilliantly done." (99790822)

"When arriving back to the hotel at about 1pm, the main hotel reception was closed and guests are asked by notice, to enter through the main entrance of Tides Night Club which is situated in the hotel. As we were entering the club, the main club doors were violently kicked open toward me by someone being thrown out of the club by a bouncer. The club doors had long, ornate, head hight door handles. If I had been a few inches closer the door handles would have almost certainly caused serious head injuries. I accept that people are thrown out of clubs, this is not my issue. My issue is that there is no way of knowing who is on the other side of the door from inside the club and suggest doors are replaced with ones that have toughened glass. I'd hate to think someone in the future is less fortunate than me. Thank you for the opportunity to express my concern and provide feedback." (3304751999)

"We arrived back late on Saturday evening and were not allowed back into our hotel and were told to enter through the nightclub next door. They would still not let us in as they did not believe we were guests at the hotel, staff were rude and abrupt. Eventually we were allowed in and were told we could not be served any drinks in the lounge (as residents) until the nightclub has closed at 2:30am! Nightime staff/management were very rude and abusive towards us and as paying guests we would certainly not return to this hotel again." (3304280549)

The bedding was insufficient for the cold February weather! The double duvet barely reached from one side of the bed to the other and was not of a high enough tog. However when requested a second duvet was delivered to the room.

The Burlington Hotel - Guest House, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings

"We were staying on Saturday and Sunday nights. We requested a quiet room when booking, but were disappointed this was not addressed, and we were placed on the second floor over the night-club area. We are a mature couple, and were unable to get to sleep on the Saturday night until 3.00 a.m. Although the night club was supposed to be closed on the Sunday night there was private function, and again no sleep until 2.00 a.m. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful break over a week-end period and would not stay there again." Accommodation clean and comfortable

The Burlington Hotel - Guest House, Worthing - Reviews & Ratings

"Booked this hotel 'blind' over the internet needing somewhere to accommodate my husband and I and my son and three friends. We were travelling to Worthing for a particular event and the hotel was well located for our purpose - with the added bonus of being on the seafront. The receptionist was very helpful and after checking us in booked us taxis. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The night porter was great when we got in after 10pm when the door is locked, and was friendly to the lads after they went out again. They are all under 21 and too young to go in the hotel bar or nightclub but were treated well by the porter and the other lads working the late shift, who chatted to them and made them feel welcome. The rooms were excellent and two of our three rooms were upgraded to family rooms without us asking which was a bonus. The rooms were well equipped, modern and very clean. We had a lovely breakfast - nice mix of self service for your cereal/fruit/juices etc and waitress service for the rest of your meal. Lovely light (and sunny) dining room and relaxed and informal - just what you need on a casual break. Shame we weren't there a bit longer as we'd have liked to sample the food in the resturant at night - but maybe next time. All in all a great place to stay, shame it was such a short break." Nice view of the ocean through a side window. Room well equipped and very clean.

None as far as we can see but only there a short time so didn't really do much except sleep and have breakfast.
