"I liked the Grange very much, the owner and staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast supplied in the room was varied and generous. The setting is really love, quiet, with beautiful views. I thought it offered excellent value for money and I would definitely stay there again if in the area." (97086856)

The accommodation was very comfortable, well maintained and attractive. The room was light and pleasantly decorated with lovely french windows onto the balcony with a charming view across fields.

The room was too hot and I couldn't turn the radiators off or even down. I slept with the french windows open which was fine as it was lovely weather (yes even in November) but it would have been very uncomfortable had it been wet or windy.

Quiet, nice location and friendly welcome.

The corners around the bathroom floor had build up cloggy dust with hair. Overheated room - radiator couldn't be turned off. Excessively soft beds.

"The above comments seem a bit picky, but in such a near perfect stay attention to these details would have made it a truly perfect experience." (97113738)

We loved the kitchenette facilities. The breakfast provided was more than adequate.

The only thing missing was a tea-towel in the kitchen area. The shower was just a trickle, the shower head needed replacing or descaling.

Lovely building & setting; charming owners; reasonably sized room; (mostly) good facilities (eg fridge, shower, TV etc); very clean; quiet location

wash basin was awkwardly placed (set back, on a plinth) and quite difficult to use.

"Clean, functional and bareable for one night if you do not require any lounge facility. When booking I did not notice that the breakfast was continental, i.e. cold out of the fridge, or that I would have to partake of it stuck on a high stool. Nowhere to socialise with the other couple we were travelling with." (97022527)

    Quaint,Clean,functional

Rooms like servants quarters. In addition, no point in being in this house and not having access to a decent sitting room or to the garden.

"Excellent accommodadation, we were also offered a room on the ground floor for a senior person who could not walk far. Everything seemed to be covered even an iron and ironing board in the room plus a hairdryer. I would certainly recommend this hotel." (99898000)

The overall cleanliness of the rooms plus the breakfast set up area. It was good to be able to help yourself to breakfast at any time in your own room. Having a fridge and microwave was an added bonus.

Only one fault the butter for the toast was missing in our room.

"A very pleasant house set in attractive countryside, but there is potential to improve the self catering menu and add pleasure to the stay." (99298677)

The hotel was attractively and comfortably furnished

The self catering breakfast featured croissants which had to be cooked in the microwave oven. This does not produce a memorable meal. The food in the self catering fridge was a variety of 'budget' items from local supermarkets; long life orange juice, cheap jam, cheap yoghurt. This was a disappointment and contrasted poorly with the attractive 'period' decor of the house.

"This was our second stay at The Grange and in the meantime they have stopped serving breakfast routinely. Instead you now have the supplies for a continental breakfast to prepare in your room. There is a kitchenette if you wish to be more gastronomically adventurous. The Grange is well situated, convenient and yet with views over the large gardens to the rolling countryside beyond. Soft furnishings of good quality abound. It was nice to have TWO armchairs in a double room!" (3304716270)

The Grange has character and is well situated - out of town but easy to find. Appointment is very good. The idea of a kitchenette in the room rather than breakfast has its good points - more flexible.

"The 4-Poster room is en-suite with a small dining area and kitchen with a well-stocked fridge. There were more than enough supplies for breakfast. Double doors led from the room onto a balcony where you could sit and admire the glorious grounds and Leicestershire countryside. Our hosts could not have been friendlier or more helpful. There was only one minor downside, and that was the lack of shower facilities over the bath which made hair-washing a little more tricky than normal, but this did not in any way spoil a most pleasant stay." (3304692006)

No shower facility over the bath

"Accomodation is more like a small self-contained flat than a hotel room, which was ideal for me as I was working nearby for the night and needed the ability to come and go as required, even at anti-social hours. The room itself was very comfortable and the breakfast options were varied." (3304534962)

The self-contained nature of the room (even as far as having it's own frontdoor) was ideal for my requirements. The kitchen facility was very useful, and the range of breakfast items was extensive.

The description of the hotel having a courtyard for parking was a bit misleading and I nearly drove past as a result!
