Comfortable and close to the City. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Some of the furnishings were rather shabby, private WC very stained.

We were welcomed by the proprietor.
The general standards of decor were not great. It was very expensive for what it offered.

Alpha Milton Guest House, Cambridge - Reviews & Ratings"This is a B&B style place, not a hotel. The street presence is un-impressive, but, it is quaint and homey and the owner was helpful. The room was a reasonable size with an en-suite bathroom. There was no air-conditioning, but with door and window open, there was cross ventilation. Our room overlooked the back garden which was a nice view and very quiet. There was free wifi in the entry area. The included breakfast was HUGE -- choice of continental or full English. It was only about a 10 minute walk to the river and possible punting, but it was a full 20-25 minute walk to the center of town. However, part of the walk was across a park, so it was pleasant. It is not close to the train station and if you try to make that journey during rush hour, it will take some time and the taxi will cost a bit." (99989333)
It was quiet and homey.
Just a bit longer a walk to town than is quite comfortable, but for the price........

Location is near enough to the city center for easy walking, but not too busy. I had a perfectly acceptable room, clean with adequate facilities, pleasant view of garden in back, etc. Breakfast was good.
Beds were a bit worn but plumbing, paint, carpets, linens all in great shape. "En suite" toilet/shower room was a bit small but functional. I think the rooms are all up at least one flight of stairs, so take that into account.

There is an attractive well kept garden at back of the building which our room overlooked. This more than made up for the fact that the hotel is on main road which can sometimes be busy. All in all a pleasant experience and one that I would be happy to repeat." (99747069)
Very friendly owner and staff who made us feel very welcome.
We stayed in a top floor room and the plumbing proved to be very noisy with lots of hissing and banging everytime it was used but we got used to it in the end and found it mildly amusing.

Breakfast well cooked although everything came ON toast.
Poor bed. Flimsy curtains. No plug in sink. Very small room although that seems typical of modest priced accommodation in Cambridge.

comfey homey relaxed. The owner Tony was very accomadating and helpful, from ice to taxis. Great breakfast' killer coffee. Lovely back yard to smoke those nasty cigs. Great shower. Walking distance to city center.
Could have had a better mattress, my sisters room had a nice one on the twins bad on the single. anyway I didn't come all that way to sleep!

Breakfast is very good value for money and your room - like the place as a whole - is very tidy. You get abundant free supply of tea and coffee and biscuits on your room every day. The owner of that place is a very polite, amiable, witty, and caring person. To him service means more than just doing business.

I like the homey feel of the Alpha Milton. The breakfasts were excellent and it is within walking distance of the Cambridge city center.
The heating in the third floor rooms in December could be improved. We experienced a large group of very noisy guests starting a party about 1 o'clock one evening until 6am when they went to bed.

Alpha Milton Guest House, Cambridge - Reviews & Ratings"WAS ACCOMMODATED IN AN ENSUITE ROOM THOUGH I HAD BOOKED A BASIC ROOM. Room was very silent at night though Milton Road is a rather busy road. Breakfast was swiftly served, excellent and abundant. A footwalk of about 10 minutes takes you to the city centre across the River Cam and through a lovely park. Very good value for money." (2703815)
