Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"Overall it was good." (107126256)
Friendly staff (esp in restaurant)
Cold tap on sink was turned off so hard I couldn't use it (and I am not feeble). It would have helped if we'd been told how the door key worked ....we messed about for ages looking for a slot!

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"Overall it was a pleasant 'short' day to enable our teenage daughter to attend Southampton Solent University - if she gets a place I could be a regular visitor at the right price." (107626984)
having left some personal belongings in the room, staff were quick to locate them and keep them at reception in order for someone to collect them for me.
cleanliness of the room's could be improved, along with hot buffet breakfast - I really missed my fried bread!!

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"Overall satisfactory for the one night i required. However, would not reccommend for longer or in the hotter months due to no air conditioning. " (97076982)
Close to cruise terminal, location right in city centre.
Room too hot, I was literally cooking, no air conditioning only a fan in the room which was just circulating hot air. Room could do with updating and modernising.

Parking should be included overnight, ordered some food but when it arrived the fish was just warm. Meal was quite expensive. Shower head was not loose. Bed light was notworking, probably needed a new bulb but I feel this should be check by cleaning staff.

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"I'd be happy to stay there again. The "Days out UK" membership was useful - used a voucher to get cheaper entrance in Portsmouth." (107291071)
Friendly Staff, central location - pleasant walk through a couple of parks to the city centre. Happy for us to drop off luggage at 10:30am but not actually come back to check-in until 6:30pm (after a trip to Portsmouth). Good choice at breakfast, and decent evening meal.
No hotel car park, and the drop-off area had a crane parked in it (the hotel has building works ongoing). Some bits look a bit "tired" - but they are doing work on the building so this should change..

Location. Receptionist remembering room number when we came back down and asked for a spare key card, and also remembering our breakfast order the second morning. Breakfast!
The general state of maintenance at the hotel needs attention. They seem to have problems with leaking water. Big water damage in wardrobe.

very good cooked breakfast food, tasty and fresh. quick pleasant service.
the shower did not work in my ensuite bathroom. If you were having a lie in, I would imagine it would be disturbing to be woken by scaffolders working outside your window on a Saturday morning.

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"Generally my stay was a good one, the staff were helpful and friendly. The bar was comfortable. The room was clean and warm and the bed was comfy. My only disappointment was the 'restaurant' it actually reminded me of a junior school dining room, a bit too 'twee' and 'pine' for my liking. But saying this the breakfast was filling and tasty, but I did not go in for an evening meal." (97535471)
Location
Was quite noisey, other guests and the traffic on the roads outside.

the hotel was in a good location
the room was overlooking the roof which was full of rubbish the room was very dark and far too hot. The window was very tiny so not much light came in and i actually paid more online than through the hotel itself

staff were friendly and food was very good.
shower had no pressure and the water was leaking out from the tap seal. Extractor fan was full of dust and was half hanging off the ceiling. Floor in the room didn't look very clean - had stains. Mould on ceiling near window in room. I could only get a few channels on the TV.

The staff were lovely on reception - particularly the night porter whose honesty was fantastic as he was able to return my wallet to me on Tuesday morning after I had very carelessly left in the bar at about 1am. Thank you all very much.
the bedroom looking out over a brick wall wasn't exactly thrilling, but I guess unavoidable.

Carpet in bathroom, shower not working well, movable bed, no iron in room, needed to pay upfront for stay, so additional charges would have been separate on bill, hence I did not charge anything else.

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"Overall I had a nice stay and able to use gym facilities. The decor could do with a spruce up and the hair dryer should be replaced as the switch has been taped. It tended to cut out. I think guests should be able to have an early breakfast without being charged more. I would have been happy to have it downstairs." (97632583)
Clean and comfortable, as it was very hot the fan was a big plus.
Quite small room overlooking car park. Breakfast cost me extra because I needed to travel to Cosham early, yet I had less choice.

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"room was adequate but some of the furniture was marked. there was no iron or board in the room, but housekeeping staff directed me to a chained iron and board situated on the corridor of one of the floors! shower leaked onto bathroom floor, soaking bathmat! We specifically booked this hotel because of its pool and leisure facilities, however, sadly we were too busy during our stay to make use of them. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - it was clean, comfortable and friendly." (97932510)
all staff were approachable and helpful breakfast was enjoyable beds were on the soft side but comfortable
shower leaked from somewhere under the bath onto the bathroom floor everytime it was used.

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"Good clean accommodation. Shower in room was a bit tempramental, but I never said anything at the time as I used the swimming pool facilities as often as I could. (Excellent shower there) Daily room cleaning and change of towels if required. Usual tea/coffee making facilities in room, replaced daily. Lovely cooked and continental breakfast included. Open as restaurant in the evening. Basic menu, but good value for money. Daily newspapers available in reception. Excellent swimming pool (warm) sauna, steam room and spa. (This greatly influenced my choice of hotel) Hotel very centrally located. Walking distance from/to train station, which connects to Southampton airport. Friendly, helpful staff. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you." (97895106)

Nothing. I didn't like having to pay before I had even seen my room or the hotel facilities. However, when I asked, the receptionist had absolutely no problem with me checking in, viewing my room and wandering around the hotel before I did pay.

Shower in room no pressure (had to use shower in gym for more than a 'quick rinse'), needs re-decorating in general, lifts not working when checking out (on 3rd floor),

Southampton Park Hotel, Southampton - Reviews & Ratings"The main problem was the constant banging of doors - probably because they don't have a traditonal handle. The alarm clock had been left set to wake up far too early - I expect a hotel to check that these are set to the off position. There was someone's sock on the floor so the room couldn't have been cleaned properly. The cistern didn't fill properly either so difficult to flush toilet properly. Breakfast on a Sunday really ought to be served to a more humane time 10.30 or 11.00am minimum." (97670665)
The online booking and check-in was very smooth.

Central location. Friendly and no problems checking in and out. Water boiler with tea/coffee and cookie. Balcony.
Too much noise between rooms. At one point I asked for directions to two remote streets, but didn't really get any help at the reception - I found the large map on the wall by myself.

Very clean and efficient. Pleasant "common" areas, ie: reception, bar, lounge.
Some areas (ie; staircases to rooms) very poor condition. Bedroom efficient but very small with poor view.
