staff were very friendly and polite and very helpful. provided excellent service
external upkeep of hotel lets it down. paintwork is very weathered and poorly maintained. one colour at the front and another at the rear. The phrase 'first appearances' spings to mind and the first appearance at the front of the hotel is not good.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Food and service excellent.
Room needed updating and decor well worn. Plumbing also needed updating as did bathroom. Very noisy when flushing the toilet.

Quiet hotel, close to bike hirer and walks. lovely grounds and settings. Fantasic evening meals, but a bit pricey.
Enjoyed our stay, pitty it wasn't a bit cheaper as we would have stayed longer.

Central location, 5 min walk from Brockenhurst shops/restaurants. Fantastic walking tracks across plains right from front door. Riding stables next door. Quiet, warm rooms. Excellent location for exploring the New Forest.
Room in need of re-decorating, wallpaper peeling off walls, stains on carpet & bathroom shower head full of scale and not spraying at all well. Heated pool full of green algae. Restaurant food quality poor, very greasy breakfast & the 'deal' dinner does not include many of the more desirable dishes - that said many really good restaurants within 5 min walk.

The staff were lovely and very helpful indeed. The breakfast was surprisingly good. The facilities in the room were excellent, as was the cleanliness of the hotel.
The room was quite hot, but fortunately you could open the windows.

Food good. Ideal location for walking with lots of open forest area to front. Leave the car in the spacious car park and put on your boots! Was an ideal base for a weekend relaxing and walking the dog - yes another dog friendly hotel for our list. We had a ground floor room and last thing at night enjoyed looking out to the garden to see a small group of Deer exploring the grounds within feet of our window.
Not really "bad" points - just the hotel would benefit from some redecoration due to wear & tear plus looks tired and in need of refreshing.

nice warm room.lovely breakfast.everything was smooth and efficient
our first evening the meal was not quite as nice.there was alarge party in for dinner and we were asked to go a little later which we didn't mind at all.but tne potatoes and veg tasted as if it had been kept warm. all our other meals were very nice.

The room was very comfortable especially the bed. The staff are a credit to the hotel and were very very helpful even when we had to book out early due to unforseen circumstances there was no hasssle from the staff. Not quite as I expected. The pictures and description a little misleading. Did not expect the hotel to be right on the main road. The hotel appears a little jaded and although the room was ok it was not overwhelmingly luxurious

Cheap bed - uncomfortable. Dim lighting - coupled with dark walls this gave the whole hotel a gloomy feel Duvet etc. too small No marmalade at breakfast

location. the hotel was very tired decor wise and although we were in a room that had been upgraded the bathroom hadn't been and this spoilt the effect. the bed was dreadful.
see above and parking was a nightmare as you had to go up a private road to the overflow carpark despite the road saying it was private no turning and to the obvious disaproval of the house owners.

Hotel needed to be redecorated, wallpaper was coming away from the walls in various places. Leaking tap and chipped tiles in bathroom.

The position of the hotel is excellent for touring The New Forest but at the same time very quiet.
The room was too hot and the temperature of the water in the shower uncontrollable!

Forest Park Hotel, Brockenhurst - Reviews & Ratings"On arrival at your hotel-I asked if it was possible to get a late check out for the following day-I was told this was not possible-although the member of staff did not check with the manager and it clearly stated that it was at the discretian of the manager in your hotel guide. Breakfast the following morning was fair and I was not offered tea or coffee in fact nobody acknowledged that I had arrived for Breakfast at all. On checking out I was asked to pay my bill which included the cost of the room and drinks at the bar-when I asked for the bar bill-the member of staff could not find the receipt for this-I found this unacceptable as I had not actually given my room no. at the bar and the drinks were supposed to be on the bill of another room." The staff were lovely... couldn't have wanted more. The public areas were very comfortable and welcoming. We spent a great afternoon in the garden. The woodland setting and the pool area are very attractive. The garden service was very good. You have to meet Basil! He's a real local character and is very interesting. The restaurant is very nice. The food was first class... Fresh and very tasty. We had a great meal followed by drinks in the comfortable lounge. Our bedrooms were clean and the beds vey comfortable
Nothing really.... You have to accept that the Hotel is not a new building and that there is bound to be some damage to wallpaper here or there, but it's all in keeping with the feel of the forest generally. The bathrooms in the older rooms were dated, but that adds to the character of the place. The newer rooms we had (we had 5 altogether) we more up to date.

Accommodation was fine but the windows in the room were not easy to open and, in my view, require replacing as the one top window was packed with newspaper to stop it rattling. Shame as the hotel was good

Forest Park Hotel, Brockenhurst - Reviews & Ratings"Of all the hotels around the world I have stayed in, I thought this was the worst value for money. A lovely but expensive dinner - not ONCE were we asked if everything was alright with our meal. If I was to be pedantic, receptionists shouldnt have flaked nail varnish, they should be at reception to welcome guests and not sitting in a back office eating. checkin was 2pm, we were there 5 minutes early, but the receptionist had to find out if our room was ready. The mirror on the dresser in the room was broken, and there was little hot water for a shower in the morning." (97375152)
