I was impressed by all the staff but having a glass of wine delivered from where I had dinner - The Golf Club - to me on my return to the hotel was lovely.
I did not know the bar was reserved the night I stayed and that hte restaurant was fully booked in the hotel that night but on a positive note the hotel staff told me the food in the Golf Club was really good and they were right. I was also supplied with a brolly which badly needed.

it was a shock to see lots of poorly washed and therefore dirty but supposedly "clean" dishes, cups and milk jugs in the breakfast area so this was not what I expected to find in such a smart hotel; online booking showed two rooms but hotel computer only showed one on arrival; flickering loose electrical connection to one of bathroom lights above the basin; missing were two button covers from the tap controls in the bath / shower so that a wire was exposed to view in the temperature control while showering so it seemed unsafe electrically;

Excellent staff and hotels grounds and buildings were imacculate.
room was average at best, would expect better linen and electrical equipment from a De Vere, but were satisfactory. Just feel your standards were not as high as Carden Park and St. Davids Park

Good points....the place is lovely and is quite good value for money.
The staff is not friendly at all, when we first arrived they did not make us feel comfortable at all, the lady that did the check-in, did nothing to impress us, and did not explain nothing about the hotel services. We did not look our best, granted...but we've been traveling all day and we were very tired... My husband and I travel a lot, we just arrived from a trip to South America and the customer service there was amazing. The other thing is that I booked 2 double rooms online, but when we arrived there there was only 1 booked, luckily there was enough rooms available for us to stay there, but it is a bit annoying when you believe what the computer is telling you and end up been a lie...

The hotel is modern and well organised. It is set in spacious grounds and equally well located for access to Crewe and te motorway. Staff were friendly and helpful. food was good and well presented. Breakfask buffet was very satisfactory.
The on-line booking with Active Hotels was easy enough and I had confirmation by return that the two rooms I had requested were booked. However, on arrival, Reception told us they only had one room booked in my name. Luckily they were not full and found a room for my female collegue. unfortunately the room had to be hurridly prepared and was not as satisfactory as mine. The hotel caters for golfing guests and unfortunately a party of LADY golfers were particularly noisy when other guests - particularly those on business - were trying to sleep.

It was a lovely hotel for a wedding reception, very clean.
I foud some of the staff rude, i wasn't told when i checked in to use the room card to activate the electricity in the room, so spent 20 mins trying to figure that out and then had to ring reception. Also after we had finished the receptionin the club house we went back to the hotel and were told that the bar wouldn't stay open for us even though you have a residence lisence and there were approx 9 of us. I was very disappointed with this especially when you consider the price of the hotel room, whichis not cheap.

General standard good.Restaurant staff helpful but lack experience.Food stndard excellent.
Poor organization we had two meals and drinks with guests and nearly didn't get charged for any.Initial check in was officious,not welcoming,as if we weren't paying.We did make the point to dutyn manager and general attitude improved.

This was not the case at the Wychwood. Room doors make a very loud noise when they are closed and the beds were rock hard causing my partner very bad back ache. This is a shame because the hotel has done lots of other things right apart from signage. The grounds are extensive and in some places, it is unclear where to turn. Where there are signs, the writing is so small that you can easily miss them. We got lost three times after entering the hotel grounds. Qhotels have the comfiest beds. Replace the mattresses and put silencers on the doors and the hotel would be excellent. Why can't hotels get the basics right? Shame." (97042032)

Quiet surrroundings, quick checkin/checkout
I had a groundfloor room with someone noisy above. The cooked breakfast was poor - cooked too early and left under lamps, even though the chef was around (intermittently). TV remote control was faulty in the room.

It was extremely good value. The full English breakfast was excellent and worth the £50 fee in its self. I would certainly consider staying in your hotels again if it remains of this price and quality.
We asked for a non-smoking room but someone had clearly been smoking in the room previously. having checked-in in the afternoon and deposited out bags we did not return to our room until after midnight. This is when we noticed that the room smelt of cigarette smoke.

The hotel is situated with easy access and would be easy to find but appropriate directions and map is needed. I would recommend this hotel generally for a rewarding stay." (97503362)
The hotel was secluded and in it's own private grounds, controled by friendly security to enter the estate.
Things were fine generally but the plates for all courses at breakfast were not fully clean but the receptionist was friendly and couteous acting immediately to report this to put it right. The hotel was otherwise very clean

Spacious hotel, generally very quiet, and simple, clean accommodation. Free coffee and tea on tap in the communal areas 24x7 is a nice touch.

The staff were very professional throughout my stay, in particular the lady who managed the dining room in the early part of the day. A credit to the De Vere name." (99045572)
The hotel accommodation was of an excellent standard, the en-suite shower was of a very high quality and the room layout made it a very pleasurable experience.
Although UPVC double glazing was evident, it was not fitted very well and there was noy only an awful draft, the wind was high on the particular night I stayed and it whistled through the gaps. This disturbed my sleep on a number of occasions.

It served its purpose as an overnight stay
One hand towel and one bath towel is not appropriate for two people.Room 116 was clean but a bit tired.At breakfast the plates were cold and did very little for the cooked food.Oh and the coffee was only luke warm.
