the hotel is located in a very attractive place, overlooking the river. The dining room is a very pleasant room in which to eat and the outside terrace is truly glorious on a warm sunny day.
1:we were not notified of the parking charge for cars. 2: bulb missing on table lamp in room. 3: there is a very unpleasant mouldy smell in the bathroom of room 341 which needs attending. 4: That room has a balcony but needs to be cleaned and cobwebs removed before warm weather sets in. 5: the wait staff for the terrace on Bank Holiday Monday did not seem to be under any general overall supervision; service seemed hit and miss.

Very good location for the centre of Cambridge. Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff - a warm choc chip cookie on check-in was most appreciated!
Lack of full curtains in the bedroom made it very light first thing in the morning!

No paper as promised confusion over whether I had pre-paid for room Americans next to us at breakfast. They tend to speak loudly so you hear their conversations No sky sport on TV

we were there on an overnight stay whilst attending my inlaws diamond wedding anniversay party, which was excellent with delicious food and very friendly super attentive staff which made for a great party and a memorable night!
None ,other than the fact that I had made a complaint originally about not being able to book the room in the hotel itself and then the website said it was full and I didnt know there were rooms available on other sites, and I needed more info regarding children, and I found it frustrating as I couldnt speak to a real person! But our treatment while we were there more than made up for that!

Efficient, friendly, well run hotel.
Cold cooked breakfasts that as a result were horrid. Disappointing on 24 December to be told in the main bar there was no draught beer because they were cleaning the pipes. What a time! If I had not been honest and I would not have had to pay for lager out of total inefficiency of the staff. I will bring your bill over they said. They did not.

Staff were approachable and friendly. Hotel rooms were cleaned to a high standard.
Parking prices on top of hotel room rate were excessive. I compare this to other hotels i stay in around the district.

Beautiful position in Cambridge High standard of furnishings and fittings. Excellent breakfast choice.
Difficult to find around the one way Cambridge system. Take a good map with you and arrive in daylight if possible! Perhaps a little on the pricey side but Cambridge hotels seem to charge above average rates.

Excellent view from balcony of Cambridge Backs and Mill Pond. Would stay again and recommend it to others.
On Bank Holiday Monday, leisure facilities were not open at advertised time, and when question put to reception staff - they stated that facilities had been open!

Crown River View room has a pleasant outlook and was well stocked with tea/coffee etc which was replenished in the evening when chocolates were also left. The room was comfortably furnished and seemed reasonable value at the late availability price, full price is a little steep.
A blown bedside light bulb and sharp brackets in the bathroom, where I believe a shelf had broken at one end of the bath were disappointing. Humourless reception staff at checkout had to correct an inflated bill.

A very pleasant room with comfortable bed. The standard of cleanliness was very good and the service was very good.
We do not like self service breakfast (buffet style)In a hotel of this style we expected to be served a freshly cooked breakfast and not have to keep getting up and down to collect all items required for breakfast

Excellent service by concierge
Stairway from reception to 2nd floor was messy on arrival and not "hoovered" until mid next morning. Also would have liked to be able to order ala carte breakfast rather than expensive full english breakfast

THe only disappointment was the catering, the hot breakfast served from the buffet was only lukewarm, and the meal in the restaurant on our first evening was not as good as we had expected." I liked the design of the bedroom with good facilities for storing clothes etc. I liked the bathroom design and the tea/coffee making facility.

It is acceptable that buisness and conference people should pay after all they are not paying from their own pockets. But, please consider quests who are staying for the weekend. We had two cars at £12 per day very expensive." (97126933)
very relaxing hotel, the bar area was relaxing, the bar manager offered excellent and was friendly, superb location for the city.

The only thing that let the hotel down was that on occasions there was a lack of service from the staff. We asked to order a drink from the bar and was told to sit and someone would b with us, but 0 minutes later we were still waiting. A similar thing happened at breakfast, but apart from this the hotel was excellent and I would definately go back...

Right on the river with good views. We were impressed with the friendliness of the staff and, although we didn't use it, the lounge bar looked lovely (there was live piano music on the Friday night we stayed). The room was very comfortable, although a slight gripe was the lack of decent curtains (they didn't cover the window, so in the summer the room would get light very early indeed).Breakfast was adequate, but perhaps not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. curtains didn't cover windows (they were decorative, but not wide enough for the window) - sounds daft but in the summer the room would be light as soon as the sun came up - 5am wouldn't be funny! Breakfast wasn't great value.

the hotel is very stylish and elegant. it is located in a lovely garden close to the river Cam. The room had nice views and was nicely decorated, clean and provided many facilities.
The staff at reception were not particularly friendly or helpful. First we walked a long way to our room only to find that the keys did not work so we had to walk back to ask for new ones. No apology or anything was given - just new keys. Second, when we checked out we were overcharged for breakfast. The amount was adjusted when we pointed out the error, but again, no apology for their mistake.

Rooms and public spaces have recently been refurbished and have a contemporary but comfortable feel.
Pillows were foam, hard and uncomfortable, an alternative should be offered.

Staff were very friendly and helpful as I had requested an early check in which was accomodated despite the hotel being obviously busy. This enabled me to change in time for a wedding I was attending. The room was very comfortable and I loved the cookie on arrival which I enjoyed on the lovely balcony overlooking the river. It felt like a treat to stay with here than just another hotel. Ver y central and handy for exploring the city.
