Holiday Inn Solihull, Solihull - Reviews & Ratings"Hotel was easy to find and right in the middle of the town,with it's own onsite parking facilities, making it ideal if you're planning a weekend break. The public areas of this hotel were nicely decorated and laid out but sadly the staff were inattentive. The hot breakfast buffet had obviously been out since 6.30 and was dried up and virtually inedible, by the time we reached it an hour later. This is really not good enough given the charge of £14 per head for breakfast. Overall a well located hotel and an ok experience but a bit pricey for what you get both in terms of quality of accommodation and service." (97477458)
Bedroom was clean & functional. Room Service menu was excellent value for money and was food delivered promptly
Bedroom was a sparcely decorated and felt more like a Travel Lodge which was disapointing given that this accommodation cost 4 times as much.

the decor of the hotel was excelelnt and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was very good.

Quality of hotel overall
The hotel goes a long way to try and differentiate. However, I found the room doors when closing to be noisy - kept me awake. The hotel should investigate a means of dampening down the slamming effect.

shower curtain was ill fitting and it was close to impossible to precent the bathroom looking like a water park by the time the shower was over

We particularly appreciated the delicious late supper we had in the bar. The staff were charming and spared no trouble, even though it was late in the evening. We were also most impressed with Solihull and the excellent shopping centre, conveniently situated within easy walking distance of the hotel. A very pleasant stay with convenient car parking facilities inside the grounds. Full marks!" (97901179)
We loved the pillow menu and ordered two down pillows each and slept very well!

Location is very good and the surround areas are convenient for shopping etc.
That there are no computers available for guests. Not everybody wants to log a computer with them all the time. This is a must if you want to be a classy hotel in 2007

It has a fantastic location and I have used this as a shopping weekend for the last three years. It has excellent restaurants close by and I will definatley return next year. The room was all one could ask for and the breakfasts are great.
Being charged for the car park !!

Good location, good parking, nice pool and decent rooms
No computers available for guests, not everybody are dragging around with their personal computer. 15 channels TV, no international channels--come on its 2006. I am aware of CNN in the bar. The rmotecontrol in the room was so worn that the description on the buttons were worn off.

Hotel clean and bedroom was spacious
The room was next to the lift shaft which disturbed our sleep virtually all through the night.We had to wait an hour for our meal in the restaurant with no communication from the staff, and for what we had it was very overpriced.

My room was fresh and sparkly clean.
My room was in the roof space and the windows were high and small giving a feeling of being very enclosed. The restaurant food was not good value for the cost a little disappointing.

The leisure facilities in the hotel (jacuzzi etc) were an added extra which made our stay even more relaxing! The location of the hotel in relation to the shops and nightlife was superb!
I did not dislike anything but air conditioning would have made the room even better!

It was terrible and there is a taxi rank outside the front of the hotal so that the people leaving the nightclubs, mostly inebriated, were whistling, shreiking and generally I suppose having a good time, but not for us. It has been refurbished very tastefully, the rooms are big and comfortable with very nice bathrooms ensuite
No toilet roll holders (yet) I am sure there will be one next time we go. Also very noisy because of weddings and the nightclubs opposite the front of the hotel. Nightclubs were definitely open until 3.00 a.m. when I finally managed to get to sleep (that was on the Saturday night. Children running all round hotel and not being supervised - this spoilt things a little for us, but we would stay there again. Non operational air conditioning meant we h ad to have windows open and this made things even noisier.
