"Suited our purposes perfectly as visiting family in the area. We had stayed before when hotel under different ownership so knew it but as mentioned above decor doesn't appear much altered over the years" (97707810)

Room very clean. Staff pleasant & helpful. Breakfast good - we didn't have any other meals. Excellent location

Fabric of building is very tired. In need of redecoration and refitted bathrooms

"The hotel has a generally shabby appearance and interior was not much better, The staff that I came into contact with were very helpful and friendly but overall the hotel is not good value for money. " (107347092)

Bathroom in first room was well refurbished but bed was very uncomfortable and creaked loudly (I slept alone)so much so that I requested to be moved to another room.

Bed noisey and uncomfortable, TV remote did not work,Trouser press did not work in either room.

    Very good breakfast

Extremely suspect light fittings in the bedroom (three lights did not work) and I had to request light bulbs from reception. However, the fittings were very loose and dangerous.

"Very small points did not detract, and I will probably stay with you if I d a leisure trip to your area." (107625645)

Spotlessly clean with all the facilities I required, free internet access, comfortable lounge, excellent vista.

No real ale in the bar, a quirky room, but that wasn't bad just quirky. Just one available socket sor sundries, so If I wanted the table lamp on I had to unplug the computer, and then if I wanted a cup of tea, I had to unplug the lamp to boil the kettle.

"The buffet breakfast was excellent - like everything else in this hotel, it was value for money. A few more British hotels could learn from the Stade Court's example!" (107234313)

    Fantastic sea view!

"Not much more to add. This hotel could be very good indeed, given its position, and given the quality of its staff. But it needs an injection of money in order to remove what I can only call its 'seedy' aura. The bathroom was particularly bad. The window sills outside the dining room are frankly beyond a simple painting job - they need replacing completely. In high season I imagine the parking would be difficult - the hotel car park was full each evening even in March, but I guess nothing can be done about that, and there is free parking along the sea front nearby. Putting the seediness aside, everything was very clean, and we had no complaints whatsoever. If we need to stay in that area again, we would undoubtedly be happy to return to the Stade Court - but would hope that the place would have been refurbished by then!" (97840101)

Hotel very conveniently sited. Good view from room. Comfortable beds. Good food at breakfast and dinner, reasonable price. Excellent service, very friendly and competent staff.

Room - more especially the bathroom - in need of refurbishment.

"This hotel has lots of potential but requires updating. At present, it is a long long way below the standard we would expect from a "Best Western" hotel. " (107180983)

    Sea view and convenient location.

Big cobweb across skylight in bathroom indicating poor cleaning standards. Dangerous floor tiles in bathroom - uneven and slippery even when dry. Water leak in corner of bathroom - source could not be identified. Inadequate car parking for a hotel of this size. Sky TV unwatchable on set in room. Loose sky vent rattled all night long in the wind.

"We were made very welcome on arrival at the hotel. Having checked in I parked our car in the private car park (free) at the rear of the hotel. Our room was excellent - well furnished, clean and with a sea view. The facilities were plentiful - tea, coffee and biscuits; trouser press, notepaper, pen; hotel guide and local information. The bathroom was spotless and well equippped. After our evening out we enjoyed returning to the hotel bar for coffee and drinks. The barman was a delight and other guests were enjoying themselves. In the morning we enjoyed our full English breakfast. All the staff here were extremely friendly and we will definiteley stay here again." (97566583)

The friendliness of all the staff at all times. The facilities (bar etc, lounge and in-room facilities (tea, coffee, biscuits and also bathroom sundries. The room was very comfortable and well furnished - with a sea view as well! Our breakfast was very good.

The bed linen was clean and the staff were cheerful and plesant.

The hotel was grubby dusty and claustraphobic. Windows were dirty and did not open enough. Outside a dirty torn England flag set the tone of the hotel.

Vertical blinds instead of curtains might be better in some of the bedrooms might help when the sun is REALLY bright!

"I booked 3 rooms for the weekend, therefore was able to compare standards between the 3. The room I occupied, unlike the other 2 in my party, had no remote for the television, only had a shower and no bath unlike the other two, had no trouser press unlike the other two and we had no duvet but some rather tired looking blankets. The ceiling had water stains on it and the room was generally in need of refreshing. The particular room we were in, on the first floor, was unfortunately stuated with its window right next to the steps out of the function room, which meant we had people talking on the steps outside our window on and off til the early hours. We had to wait for staff to book in, and on both mornings of our stay had to actively seek out staff at breakfast for such basics as plates, coffee and toast - there simply wasn't anyone around, I had to ask at reception, where I had to wait for the receptionist to deal with phone calls etc before getting attention. We have had better experiences at other Best Western hotels, which is why this weekend was disappointing." (3304801471)

The checking in was straight forward, the room was great with views over the sea, It was the first time we had stayed in a room where we had to go up stairs withinthe room to access the en-suite, and a supprise a louge area with the views over the sea, Great.

The whole of the hotel requires maintenance, re-decoration , Toilet seats replacing, Heating system serviced as the rads where cold at the top (need air to be bleed from them) The electrical equipment within the room was over 3 years passed it PAT test due date.

The room and bathroom were very dated, the bath mat was dirty on arrival, the sink was not cleaned by the chambermaid, no hand towels. The upstairs chairs were stained and disgusting, the lampshade was so badly damaged it needed throwing away, and the bedspread had holes in it.

"The Hotel is beautifully situated, parking is easy, restaurant is light and comfortable. Rooms are comfortable if shabby. Restaurant staff are very pleasant and food is good. Receptionists could be helped with more training in dealing with difficult situations. Double entrance doors and lift difficult to manage with luggage. Top floor rooms have bathrooms up narrow stairs - would definitely NOT be suitable for older guests or those with young children. We enjoyed our stay and would return, definitely asking for a top-floor room with sea view!" (99233183)

Situation was perfect for us, room arrangement pleasant, staff mainly helpful and nice, food well served and good.

Peeling paintwork, damp patches on ceiling, one bed leg missing, windows very draughty, holes in units. Bathroom shabby and cold. Basically the place needs a good tidy up! Entrance doors and lift difficult to manage with luggage.

The hotel was warm and the room was clean. It was an interesting room with an upper floor with great coastal views. The shower was good.

The ceiling could have done with a new coat of paint which was peeling. The kitchen closed at 14:00, we arrived at 14:20. However, the staff did manage to russel up a sandwich after 14:00 as a special request.
