The decor and lighting of the corridor, and the room, and the sixth-floor breakfast room/bar. The helpfulness of the desk staff and the restaurant staff (who let my children have one breakfast between them), the parking facilities, the location.
The pillows (too hard) and the fact that I rang to ask if there were parking spaces, to which the girl said yes no problem, yet when I arrived 30 mins later, the check-in girl led me to believe it was full, which caused me panic. (And there was room, so it was unnecessary). Would have liked a bath but the shower was beautiful and efficient as showers go....

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"Would definitely stay again! Only bad point was the poor lighting in the room which made getting ready to go out at night a little difficult. Very good value for money, nice breakfast and nice bar open till late with free internet access. Staff friendly and helpful, but taxi I ordered from reception was hugely overpriced! Would find my own transport next time." (107571915)
Excellent value for money, close to underground and South Bank, free internet, bar open late!
Insufficient lighting in room.

Excellent accommodation for a family suite - spacious enough - 3rd and 4th bed in a separate room and full double size. Kichenette facilities including fridge and crockery/cutlery, additional seating/table. All day parking available.

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"Exemplary staff on reception! Most competent and welcoming! I felt appreciated and could easily understand all the instructions given. So often this is not the case. Good location, not too far from London Bridge underground. Fantastic restaurants nearby around Borough market. The market itself (Thursday and Saturday) is a wonder to behold. I will be going again!" (107268173)

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"We only stayed the one night but in general we were comfortable in the room, with two adults and two children in a suite there was adequate room for us all. The evening meal was good although not a lot of choice for the children of young ages. Close to many tourist attractions that we were visiting in the two days in London." (107172211)

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was booked predominantly because we had stayed there previously and the location was ideal as it is across the road from the venue of my firm's Christmas Party. In the event the party had to be cancelled and the hotel manager made every effort to accomodate people that were staying in the hotel and those people who were not staying. The staff are professional and friendly and I would recommned the hotel to anyone." (97742118)
Hotel is ideally situated and close to mainline stations. The rooms have a modern decor and are clean and tidy.

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"Very pleasant, would choose to stay there again." (107289893)
Pleasant check-in staff who spoke English - often a problem in London hotels. Nice, quiet atmosphere. Liked being able to park there which made a big differennce to our visit.
Electric blind in room did not work. Reported it to Reception at 7pm but it did not get fixed. This may be because that was not possible but there was no note or reference to it on our return at midnight.

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"OK for one night - not as noisy as we feared it would be. Trying to speak to someone about the booking is impossible. Can't phone direct and the booking service doesn't allow you to transfer to the hotel even though it's an option provided by voicejail." (97028138)
Ensuite facilities made a great use of the space.
Rest of the room was a bit cramped but OK for one night. Wouldn't want to stay here with lots of luggage.

Good quiet location, good value for money
While the room I stayed in was non-smoking it had obviously been a smoking room in the past and therefore still smelt.

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The location was not ideal as I would have preferred to be more central to centre with access to night life but I knew this when I booked it, so only have myself to blame. Hotel very modern and 5 minute walk from Thames. Had a lovely weekend and would definately stay at this hotel again if I could afford the taxi fares to and from desired spots. Tubes get a bit tiresome after a while!!" (97114413)
Hotel was clean and staff were helpful and friendly.
Hotel was 10 minute walk from tube station and 2 tube rides to centre. I would prefer to stay in the centre for access to night life.

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"I was very pleased with the hotel. However i have to mention a fact that I did not apreciate. Before my departure I asked at the reception desk the price o a cab for gloucester place. The receptionist made a phone call and told me that it would cost me 15 pounds or less. I asked latter to call a cab. The driver didnt even knew where was gloucester place (we had to show him on the map) and he left us a block away from the adress we have asked and he asked us 20 pounds. There was no counter on the vehicle and this was not a real london cab. I think the hotel manager should verify that receptionists are in accordance with the good quality of the hotel" (99601317)

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"Helpful and friendly staff; clean and modern accommodation; excellent value for money. As the hotel was not overly large it retained the personal feel, plus there was no queuing required at breakfast. A pleasant change from some larger and more expensive hotels we have stayed in recently in London. Booking on-line and pre-ordering breakfast helped to make the trip cost effective. A pleasant stay, many thanks." (99638462)
Exceptionally clean and everything in excellent working order. Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast was enjoyable, however as breakfast was plated I did waste some food that I would not have selected. This did not detract from the overall good experience.

The only thing i have to say negative about the htoel is that the eveing menu was very limmited but other than that breakfast was very nice, how ever meals quit pricey in the hotel, but no moans!!" The hotel was very clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and it was very peaceful.
The accommodation was quite out the way, there weren't a wide range of resturants around so had to eat in the hotel, which was nice though.

The photo's (decoration), the room, the location.
When asking for a wake up call, the reception staff, quite abrubtly told me to use the television, without giving me an other option. This is the first time this happens to me. 2. The staff in the breakfasts restaurant was not very responsive. 3. The cost were quite high for a three starr (170 pound excl breakfast)

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"I have mixed views on my stay at this hotel. On arrival the two check in staff spoke very, very poor english and could hardly make themselves understood. They were trying to explain that my credit card would not be charged but I found there manner rude. The room only had 2 towels even though 4 of us were booked in. This wouldnt have been a problem but we had to call reception 4 times and again they couldnt understand us properly. The room was small but clean and stylish. We went to the bar for a drink, but they had run out of Southern Comfort so we returned to our room after just one drink. In the night I found the two male receptionists very helpful. I needed address details of a local bar and they went out of there way to help me." (99735702)

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel and facilities were excellent but the experience was let down by the quality of food in the retaaurant dinner menu. It appeared to rely on frozen ingredients in many dishes, the fish dishes in particular being poor. The breakfast was adequate but the quality of ingredients again le t it down. The sausages were more flller than meat and the bacon less tan top quality. The fried bread was deep fried which made it hard and unappetising." (3304533159)

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"This hotel meets my needs with regard to location and facilities and on the whole a good hotel. To be picky:- I am not a great gym goer but would like the facilities to be available given the choice. I found the location of the bar and restaurant to be a little unusual. I work with a number of others who stay at different hotels in the area (we can't all get the same) and it makes it difficult to meet in the Roses bar when its on the top floor and only accessible by room key. However this did make the bar a quiet place when you are on your own and need to work. At the end of the day, I've already booked my next stay in this hotel." (2815709)

Southwark Rose Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings"I have been to hotels of the same standard for less money but given the location the price seemed reasonable. Breakfast was lovely and I liked the fact that this was included in the price although this seemed to cause some problem with the people serving breakfast as they had no knowledge of this. Overall a very nice stay in a lovely clean hotel." (2208480)
All sections of room were very clean including bathroom. Location was excellent and parking for cars was ery reasonable.
Staff were quite confusing at check-in but check out went very smoothly.
