Excellent dealing with our booking as the booking on the internet went through even though there was no double room available, but the reception staff sorted it out and we got two single bed-ensuite rooms for the same price. Rooms are clean and contain everything needed. Quick and easy checkout and helpful staff for parking suggestion.
Internet booking gave availability that was actually not available.

Rooms on the main road must have double glazing/secondary glazing for the noise to protect against the unbelievable noise coming from the street at night. Ours didn't and we didn't sleep. The hotel reacted positively to changing it but the excuse that it is listed so can't do anything with the noise doesn't wash. Staff could smile more. They just didn't seem happy." (107752747)
Responsive to our need to change rooms. Breakfast was good and kept serving even though past 10am. Good position
Room on the first night is not fit as a hotel room. Windows do not block any noise and it is impossible to sleep naturally. These rooms should either not be used or come with a warning. Toilet fan didn't work in this room and the fold up beds were very uncomfortable. The first one kept collapsing.

For attending the event we were going to this hotel was a great location. Very close to bus and train station. The gentleman who served breakfast was very friendly and the breakfast was lovely
I booked the hotel via the website in March, I rang the hotel a couple of days before my stay to pay the balance only to be told that they had no booking for me, resulting in me having to ring the website resulting in a high charge call from my mobile. Had I not rang to pay off the balance I would have turned up to the hotel with no booking and dread to think how this may have ruined my weekend

clean room
woken with wedding guests shouting and argueing in the early hours of the morning. running up and down the corridor banging doors. woken again by house keeper vaccuming outside the room around 7am, then woken again by house keeper trying to gain entry to our room at 9am. overall a very restless night. very disappointed with the whole stay!

Staff were very helpful and pleasant
hotel was shabby, cobwebs in the room, holes in the wall marks where pictures had been removed. room felt tired and unclean due to overall decor. Not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel.

Located within walking distance to town center.
The only window in the room would only open 4 inches and would only stay open when propped up with an object. Room was located next to busy road with lots of traffic/noise. Thin walls made sleep difficult due to hallway noise. Bed was completely uncomfortable due to very poor mattress quality.

I phoned the 'Active Hotels' helpline to query my booking. The lady I spoke to did not speak english very well and couldnt help me with my enquiry. I found this to be an appalling display of customer service.

It had a cute female receptionist
The bed was tiny, the tv ariel was rubbish, the blankets were horrible I requested an extra duvet cover and they said there wasnt one, I find that hard to belive, the heater was broken and the window was fixed shut, im sure thats illegal. The room was very cold and i dont mind it on the cool side, my girlfriend was FREEZING. The breakfast servant seemed to have an attitude, we arrived for breakfast and she just looked at us, She could have at least said 'Goodmorning' then there was no bacon and I said to her, 'Any chance of more bacon please' she said 'Ill ask the chef' and as she said it she was staring into space, ever heard of eye contact? The other little enuiries appeared to be too much for her to deal with, even my girlfriend said 'Do you get the feeling she enjoys her job?' to be fair she was on her own so that shows the poor staffing for a hotel that has hundreds of rooms. Then there was the waste of time of the car park and having to get vouchers everytime. Then the long queue at the train station when all you wnat to do is GO! I also made an enquiry and the the gentleman behind the desk didnt know the answer, not a quip, but it just added to our WONDERFUL stay.

very pleasant room
we were told our room was ready so we took our bags up to find the staff were just about to hoover the room so we left our bags and went downstairs to have lunch also the carpet was very badly stained with black marks where things had been spilt and not cleaned up, also our room was very noisy with traffic and things going on outside so did not sleep much at all night would not have had that room had we have known would have asked for a quieter room but for one night was ok

very excellent price and easy booking process. Room is in very good condition and extremely convenient for travel from the hotel as its location is next to the bus station and rail station.
Not really bad but it would be better if the wireless could directly reach each room, instead of being restricted in the reception.

adequate supply of towels etc, tea and coffee in the room and an excellent breakfast
lack of staff contact, apart from the restaurant staff that seated us for breakfast, we saw no one from the hotel from booking in to booking out...
