"Generally very pleased with the accommodation and thought it worth the money. Thought the gardens and grounds very pleasing in spite of the rather poor weather. " (107308215)

Good location, especially the grounds. Food good and friendly atmosphere. Loved the architecture in the old part of the building (restuarants etc.) The free internet cafe was very useful as we were travelling from abroad.

Found bed rather hard, and would have liked to have windows from which we could have looked out of in the bedroom rather than skylights.

excellent location quiet situation away from traffic excellent breakfast

room too small for 2 people, including the bed 1st night ruined due to extremely noisy plumbing all night

"Hotel is ok but the move to stop serving any kind of food in the evening is very disappointing. They no longer do bar or restuarant food." (108054209)

They have decided that are no longner doing food of any kind in the evenings. This is a very poor decision.

Very professional reception staff, clean room and excellent facilities.

It was made clear that my colleague and I had to be leaving the hotel at 7.20am, we were informed that breakfast would be ready at 7am. Our car was packed and we were sat down ready for breakfast at 7am. Although this was the start time, I can only describe the breakfast as organised chaos. The staff seemed to be late and were running around, I was looking forward to a cooked breakfast. The only items that were ready were bacon and mushrooms, I politely asked for an egg and that was ignored. I had to ask for the toaster and plug it in myself, by the time we had to leave the eggs still weren't ready and they were still bringing food out. Needless to say both my colleague and I went hungry although we could have had some cereal I suppose. Considering my colleague had travelled from Greece and it was his first time in the UK, I wanted him to experience something a little more up-market. I left sorely disappointed apart from the positive comments above.

"Would definitely say that it was a pleasant experience, very relaxing." (108008640)

Hotel room was small but clean and adequate for overnight stay. Main hotel part was beautiful as were the grounds and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was to die for.

Disappointed that the restaurant was not open but there were many restaurants just a two minute walk away in the village. Did not cause a problem to us.

"Hotel handy for visiting Rugby which was main purpose of visit. Gardens were excellent. I would like to have known where breakfast was served and greeted by breakfast staff rather than find a table ourselves." (97013707)

Food was good and bar menu excellent

Top cover on bed was stained and should have been replaced. Space for hanging clothes was over tea-point and should be redesigned.

Convenient for visit to friends. Grounds were beautiful.

Very basic accommodation (although clean and tidy) considering the cost. We also couldn't contact reception on the phone - no one answered on the times we tried.

"We have nothing much to say on this subject at the hotel provided for all our needs for one night." (97944901)

Although smaller than we are used to in comparison to other hotels we have stayed in recently, it was very good indeed

Small room and lack of easy chair/settee. I thought for the price you may have had a swimming pool/massage facilities after a long journey, but Im not complaining everything was fine.

"We would have liked to know that accommodation was separate from hotel main building, as we had to go out through snow with our luggage to find our room after checking in and parking car. But overall we found the hotel to give very good value for money." (97666105)

Cleanliness, general equipment etc provided. Breakfast excellent, as other food on offer appeared to be.

Room was far, far too hot, with no apparent way of altering this.

"Only critism was that there was a function on that night, and at breakfast the following morning all tables were round, 10 seats per table. Function guests and normal residents were seated at the same tables. This meant that instead of enjoying breakfast in relative privacy, I was sat at a table with some very 'enthusiastic' function guests." (97565505)

wifi only avaialble at reception, not in rooms. Accomodation block seperate from main building, so umbrellas needed if wet!

"For the purpose of our one night stay the hotel was great. If we had stayed longer there are adequate facilities for different interests. The food was excellant and the staff very helpful and friendly." (97089983)

It was clean, comfortable and very good value for money. The breakfast was excellant.

The room was by the parking so was noisy for a short while, in busy periods think it could be quite noisy, especially if you want an early night.

"Lovely old house and extensive gardens, spoilt by accommodation annex construction. Look out for the automatic " (99560635)

Several very good restaurants and a lovely pub, within walking distance.

The accommodation annex soundproofing is poor, could hear everything from room above, and I do mean everything. Restaurant was closed to guests on our arrival night, for a private party, which seemed strange as there were plenty of alternative rooms available given the hotel copes with conferences. Guests had to eat in the bar. Two weddings in 2 days, so unfortunately lots of noisy one-nighters.

"Our room was not in the main part of the building which was a shame (it was a separate building which looked like a school!). The marquee and the Grand Hall were excellent rooms for the wedding." (99130867)

The main hotel is beautiful, as are the grounds.

The room was not value for money, flaking paint, poor shower, aged decor. Signs for finding your way around the hotel were poor also.

"Clean and tidy room. Good breakfast and easy checking in and out. Stay was marred by the attitude of one member of staff." (99240636)

    Clean and tidy.

The noise from a wedding reception was horrendous. On calling reception to find out when it was going to end I was laughed at. Not a very proffesional way to treat a guest.

FRIENDLY STAFF LOVELY RECEPTION ROOMS. BREAKFAST GOOD

THE ROOM WAS SMALL AND CRAMPED. THERE WERE NO TOILETERIES IN THE ROOM

nice quiet setting, convenient for motorway

fan in bathroom did not work. Standard of food poor for such an establishment. Perhaps we were just unlucky.
