very good all in all,
None really the bar could have been open earlier and the minimum charge of £4 seems a little high especial if one orders a small round of sandwiches or a pizza.

Reception staff excellent and resolved queries quickly
Service in restaurant especially but also in the golf club was very poor. Quality of food not great either. Several queries over rates etc. had to be raised and was frustrating to have to feel like we were constantly in discussions with the hotel to get things resolved instead of just enjoying the stay.

The lady who dealt with our check in was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, decorated very nicely. Good quality clean towels in the bathroom and the fixtures and fittings were all of a high quality. I only downgraded the quality of the room to Good instead of excellent because our bed sheet had a stain on it.
The check out process was awful. We checked out 10 minutes before we had to, so were expecting it to be busy, but had to wait 15minutes before being seen to. There were only 2 people on reception, which at peak check out time on a Sunday was nowhere near enough. The check out process was very slow as I had to correct a lot of things. we'd been charged the wrong amount for breakfast, a charity donation was added to the bill without anyone making me aware of it, it was only when I questiond the bill that it was pointed out to me. There was also another randomn charge that couldn't be explained and had to be taken off the bill. Overall, not great.

Very clean and friendly
Toaster at breakfast, we had to rush as our meeting was early. The toaster after three passes just dryed the bread with no colour. When I asked the chap said "it takes a good thirty minutes to warm up" By that time we was in our meeting.

Wi-Fi throughout the hotel at no extra charge. This is a condition of me choosing a hotel - many still charge, as much as £6.00 per hour!

Country location and good road network ie close to motorway. Hotel very well appointed with excellent staff attitude.
The only bad point was the breakfast. It was a Sunday/Monday stay and there were very few guests for breakfast. The hot dishes could have been served on demand instead of by self service which resulted in dried-up eggs, bacon etc. I feel rather churlish in mentioning this but I know it's the sort of comment you would welcome.

good facilities, including the gym and pool. room was of a very good standard. very good breakfast in pleasant surroundings
information told us room would be ready at 14:00, we arrived at 15:00 and told the room was not ready, however, the member of staff noticed we were not happy and arranged for another room that was ready. Guests we know that were staying there tried to book in at 14:05 and were told there room was not ready, and it still wasn't after we got ours. waiting to be served at the bar at about 19:10 and the member of staff seemed more concerned with cleaning glasses than serving us.

Teh staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, teh best in any hotel I have stayed in. I liked the coffe and tea idea in the foya and I didn't use the computer access but thought it was great it was available
There was only one towel in the bathroom and the check in took some time

24 hr ccess to free hot drinks, biscuits & fruit. Although this large hotel was busy you did not have an overcrowded feeling and staff were always going out of there way to help. Great buffet breakfast choice which was fresly topped up.
Hottest day of the year could have done with a fan in our bedroom. Otherwise quite pleasant.

THE ONLY BAD POINT WAS WE BOOKED ONLINE AND GAVE CARD DETAILS BUT WAS NOT AWARE THAT IT WAS NOT PAID FOR AND ENDED UP USING THE MONEY WE GOT AT OUR WEDDING TO PAY LAST MINUTE AND WE WAS LUCKY TO RECIEVE MONEY FROM FRIENDS AND FAMILY BECAUSE WE HAD NO OTHER CASH WITH US

Excellent value at
My daughter stayed on this reservation. She rang ahead at 11am and asked for the room to be ready at 1pm as we had a small baby (4 months old)when they arrived their room was not ready and they had to wait a further hour to access the room. Shortage of staff at breakfast, long delays obtaining tea etc. When discussed at reception apology given and it was stated that hotel was full with a conference (Football referees),so very busy. Surely you should have staff to meet the demand when you know you have a full house?

restaurant menu was limited and overpriced.Vey junior staff on saturday night in restaurant didn't seem to know what they were doing. i asked for vegetarian suasages for breakfast but was told they didn't have any.
