Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"We had a very pleasant stay and if there were not so many places in France to see we would be returning at some point" (108233339)
The Chateaux was stunning to look around
We thought the restaurant on site was expensive and would dine elsewhere next time but the food was excellent just a little pricey

Most staff were friendly and efficient. Beautiful Chateau and environment. Good dinner and breakfast in restaurant.
Receptionist at check-in was abrupt and not too friendly/welcoming. Carpet in room was dirty/stained.

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"Not worth the money and the staff should make an effort to understand the customer comes first especially when they are paying a premium rate!" (107134356)
Nice location and building
Bedrooms badly need updating. Smelt of odour. Was told by the night porter breakfast finished at 10:30 and when we appeared at 10:20 they refused to serve us.

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"It was a lovely end to our touring holiday in France. Excellent location. I would stay again. I would book a room similar to the one we had, I would use the restaurant for the evening meal but probably not the breakfast at that price! " (99493355)
Beautiful hotel & grounds. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food in restaurant. Bedroom attractive and had lovely view to the front.
Bed not as comfortable as you would expect. Would have been nicer to have glass tumblers instead of plastic, bearing in mind 'chateau hotel'.Tea making facilities would be a bonus. We booked a larger room, glad we did, think we may have been disappointed with a small room in a chateau! Breakfast lovely but expensive compared with previous experiences of good hotels.

Proximity to Channel Tunnel. Typical French Chateaux.
Room very small, but we upgraded at an additional cost. Much better room.

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"We looked at two rooms in the main building, for future reference, and thought they were a little on the small side, which may be a problem for some. The whole Chateau, grounds and restaurant were excellent, and I would not hesitate to return or recommend it. The food in the restaurant, though a little expensive was of the highest quality both in the taste and the way it was presented. That also applies to the breakfast." (97221998)
Large room straight out of patio doors onto lovely gardens and lake. Very quiet. Seperate w.c. and bathroom/shower, all spotlessly clean.
Our room was the last before the new swimming pool that is due to open. When it is open it may cause problems to some clients as it overlooks our patio and bedroom. Other than that (which may not be a problem) there was nothing to dislike.

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"This hotel was very comfortable after we changed rooms, which cost extra and had what we would have expected in the first room e;g a shower and tea and coffe making facilities , even then this was paper cups and powdered milk not the best for an extra 50 euros a night!Had the upgrade come free or for less we may well have spent more money in your lovely restauant. The lounge whilst pleasent was a little soul less with no really comfortable seats. At breakfast which was good we had to send cracked cups back both mornings. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. we would stay again if you offered us a bargin deal to make up for some of the short comings" (97520616)
Beautiful setting, once w had changed rooms at extra cost then the room was better
First room was small with no shower only a bath no tea and coffee making facilities and a smallish poorly locacated window

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"We primarily wanted to find somewhere that was close to Calais, where we could walk and enjoy the outdoor surroundings, and where we could sample good cuisine (all in one weekend!). This fitted our requirements perfectly. Saint-Omer is nearby and a lovely and interesting place to visit. The hotel is situated in nice grounds and surrounding countryside. The staff make you feel very welcome indeed and the service in reception, the bar and the restaurant was faultless. Dinner was a culinary delight and had the taste buds dancing! Breakast changed my opinion (for the better) of continental breakfast. All in all, an exremely enjoyable weekend was had." (97637613)
Generally a very clean, pleasant and cosy room with nice views.
There's very little to dislike! Perhaps a little modernisation in the bedroom could be suggested but the bathroom appeared to have been recently upgraded to a good standard.

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"The restaurant had a very limited menu, very expensively priced: compared to The Three Musketeers, the restaurant was very poor, and I would not go to Chateau Tilques again for that reason. Also, the Menu Enfant is absurd: the same size portion is given to a 16 year old as to a 5 year old, but no advice was given on that. The breakfast is also very overpriced. It is a shame that the restaurant badly lets down an otherwise excellent location." (99565599)

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"We return to Chateau Tilques at least twice a year, mainly for the food. The restaurant is superb, Michelin star quality food and service, but very reasonably priced. The Chateau itself is relaxing, charming and the staff are very attentive and all speak English. Standard rooms in the Chateau can be small, but the more expensive rooms are well worth the money. We stay in Pavillion du Parc, where the rooms are modern but far more spacious, all with balcony or terrace with table and chairs. We could not afford to stay in a hotel in the UK with this standard of luxury and food!" (99686501)
Pavillion du Parc is modern but still very 'French' decor, very clean, very good value.

Hôtel Château Tilques, St Omer - Reviews & Ratings"The overall impression and setting of Chateau Tilques is very pleasing. All staff were very attentive and helpful, in particular in the restaurant, where the food was also very good indeed. We would probably stay here again, but probably in a higher class of room (we were in standard accommodation at a special rate) to gain a little more space. It was an ideal stop over as we were catching a ferry from Calais the next day, it gave a nice relaxed end to our holiday!" (99672415)
General environment and setting of the hotel is impressive as are the public areas.
Room was very small, bathroom was very small - could only just sit on toilet as it was wedged between the end of the bath and the wall!
