Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Perfectly adequate for up to three nights. wouldn't have wanted to stay longer." (107309921)
Clean, quiet, comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.
No hotel car park, street parking only. Not enough staff on late evening. Night porter was running hotel bar, seeing to check-ins/reception, and dealing with any other guest requirements.

Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Would not return or recommend." (107355082)
The staff were reasonably friendly, we asked was there an option to change from double room to twin room, we were advised by reception that they would check and let us know.. and never came back to us.
The Lift was out of order for the duration of the stay and we were on the third floor, my father travelled with me who is a senior citizen, this was inadequate. On the final morning of our stay we had an early start and there was no hot water and then the water went off entirely and came back to a cold drizzle. - unacceptable in this day and age for a charge of 118 pounds for 2 nights.

Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"We njoyed our stay and we would consider staying again." (107667787)
Thw hotel gives good value for money. The staff were obliging and courteous but somewhat confused at times e.g. during the checking in process. Also, it seemed that on eperson was left to do several quite different jobs eg. run the bar AND man the reservation desk (incompatible)

Pleasant had helpful staff and it was close to Hampden Park.
Light above sink not working, no remote control for the television, headboard not fixed to bed. Limited restaurant menu.

Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"I would certainly stay again in the hotel and would recommend it to my friends and peers." (108014632)
Great Location. Friendly staff. Very good value. Lovely character building.
Parts of the hotel were a bit run down. The only serious bad point was our double bed: The mattress was very uncomfortable and had little give in it. The place would benefit from a bit of refurbishment.

Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Unusual" (97770713)
Location. Effort shown by male waiter in the restaurant was to be applauded but was the only good point
Lack of numbering on the tables meant waiter was shouting out meals as he entered relying on residents to direct him to the correct table. It reminded both us and many other customers of Faulty Towers but without Manual to take the blame. Long wait at breakfast for both ordering and serving although the food was ok Accomodation in need of upgrading.

Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"very good" (97791722)
The hotel was very clean and well equipped and the staff very friendly
One VERY SMALL point: the night porter could have been better, seemed to have the whole world on his shoulders.

Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Very good location of hotel in peaceful beautiful crescent by lovely park, and rooms clean. However while website implied could get multi channel TV there was no multichannel TV in my very small single room, just the terrestrial channels. Room very hot and because it was a single very small." (97060434)
Good location
Room very warm.

I like the character of the building and the fact it was opposite a beautiful park
We upgated to a room with a view which to me was a standard room - nothing special. The hallways were very tatty and in need of decrative work.

Ewington City Hotel, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Well.... we only needed it as a place to stop as we were visitn the glasgow review of live art but even so you do expect something from your money... The receptionist who checked us in, struggled to deal with the fact there were people there at all, maybe her first guests ever!! When we returned to our hotel at aout half 9pm we went to their 'cocktail bar' waited an hour for someone to come and serve us... we could have easily helped ourselves as the till was there all the drinks laid out on a table very odd- when eventually a man came he asked US how much our drinks were and said it was his first day!!! it was riducolous then he said he'd put them on our room and came down 4 times to check our room number, forgetting each time!! In the morning breakfast was awful-one 13yrd old boy to serve essentially cardboard- yes even the coffee tasted like this.. When the recptionist checked us out she mentioned there were drinks charged to the room (so the guy did make it in the end) I said I was going to pay on account of the service, she said 'whats wrong with it' i said 'there was none'" (97409580)
I like the location of the hotel- it was just round the corner form Queens Park train station and overlooks the park which is nice.. the decor from the outside is nice too, lovely architecture.
Pretty much everything! The hotel is rather like the one featured in the film 'The Shining' meaning that the staff were like ghosts-there were none around ever! The taps made spooky noises, the floors seem to slant weirdly, wallpaper peeling, musty smell...felt like we were the only guests in whole hotel as saw no one else the entire time.

It was conveniently sited for where I needed to be for business purposes. It was in a pleasant location near to the city centre. My single room was pleasantly furnished and had everything I needed.
My particular room was far too hot even with the radiator turned off and the window opened wide (in February!) because it contained a long length of hot water pipe serving the central heating system. At certain times of day there was also a loud drone outside which I took to be an extractor from the kitchen. This woke me early in the morning. Although the hotel claims that wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel I could not get it to work in my room. I do not like being expected to pay for my stay on arrival.

Bed was comfortable staff very helpfull
breakfast on two occasions was a disaster. I was asked if I wanted toast never received it. Asked for Tea got coffee? and asked for full breakfast without egg always got egg on plate when they removed it the egg split all over me breakfast un eatable as I'm allergic to eggs. Then due to all this on both occasions did not have time to weait for another one. When I did get a breakfast which out of 4 days was twice only I did not get asked if I wanted someting else to replace the egg instead

the young polish girl on reception was lovely, friendly & helpful and the accommodation was near to Hampden Park where the wedding was being held. The outside of the hotel and reception area were lovely and the surroundings of the hotel was nice - there was a park next to it.
it was run down and dirty - our room had a hole in the carpet covered with silver duct tape. the wallpaper was hanging off and the bath was dirty. The lift did not work for all the floors and the breakfast table was dirty and when i asked to get it cleaned i was told it would be cleaned at the end of breakfast.
