This B&B was a find. I've stayed in the Bishops Stortford /Stanstead area many times and this was without doubt the nicest place to date. We had a chalet in the grounds which was very pleasant and private. Breakfast was brought directly to our room which was very convenient.
No bad points to comment on at all. If anything could be mentioned, a minor point was the lane to the B&B it was very rough and uneven and not suitable for taking a stroll. I was travelling with my elderly mother and it meant that the car was a necessity at all times.

They were a great help recommending an excellent venue for an evening meal not far away. The collection to and from the airport was a boon done with a smile. The car was safe and parked for a reasonable price and I would thoroughly recommend Latchmead and it will certainly be the first place I would book if they have a vacancy when I fly from Stansted again." It was clean, everything available I would expect to be supplied and more. The rooms we were given were quiet and spacious. The shower was very good and there were robins, doves and other birds flying in a lovely country setting.

Latchmead Bed & Breakfast, Little Hallingbury - Reviews & Ratings"As a one-night stay for an early flight from Stansted the Latchmead could not be faulted. The chalet-style room had a large, comfortable double bed and an excellent en-suite shower room. Plenty of towels were provided too, unlike so many of those Travelodge type places. Breakfast cereal and tea and coffee facilities were present and plentiful allowing an early getaway for our flight. A shuttle service was also on offer no matter how early our check-in might have been but we didn't need it as we were returning a hire car. The airport was a mere 10 minutes drive away. The proprietress was welcoming and unphased by the fact that we arrived quite late. She was at pains to ensure that everything we needed was at hand and was up with the larks to see us off in the morning. Overall a first class experience." (97194264)
It was very clean, decorated in a neutral but modern style and had everything we needed to hand.
More comprehensive directions would have been useful as the establishment is at the end of a rather small lane.

The owners and staff were professional and very friendly. We stayed in one of the new annexe rooms [which we preferred]. Car parking was good, and free with the offer of a shuttle service to either airport or station. We weren't bothered by the aircraft flightpath at Stanstead Airport [slept like babies!] with double-glazed windows fully open [light sleepers might like to keep windows closed]. The room and fridge was well stocked with treats and snacks and breakfast was a real treat - brought to our room by Paola at a pre-arranged time. We are already sending out recommends to friends and family! Sincere thanks." (97338379)

there was absolutely nothing that could be disliked about the staff or the accommodation.

very personal service, good accomodation, lovely surroundings ( garden, outdoor pool,breakfast set up in the room for early departures). coffee, tea and snacks in the room free of charge. service to the traveller is excellent. fairly close to stansted, convenience of the shuttle service to stansted is also great.
no airco in the room however for a bed and breakfast that is normal

We liked the accomodation as it provided a shuttle service to the airport thus taking away any worries we had of arriving for our flight on time. Excellent and friendly service

The room was very clean and a lift to the airport was included in the price for early starters. For an evening meal, there is a good pub in the village, about 10 minutes walk and the B&B owners were more than happy to make a reservation for us in advance of our stay. Overall, a very pleasant experience, which took all the hassle out of having to make a stopover, and ensured our holiday got off to a smooth start." (99667272)
Breakfast available in the room as a self service style buffet. An excellent idea if you need to leave early in the morning for the airport.
The fridge in the room wasn't cold enough, which resulted in room temperature milk on our cereal the next morning.

The owner did say she would leave me a map and was very helpful by email before I went. The place and the young man (owner) who gave me a lift to the airport in the morning were very good. I like the layout and would stay longer if necessary. I fly from Stanstead and back at least twice a year. Usually I drive but I now will use accommodation and flight." (99899870)

A continuous buzzing all night. I thought the expel air was on in my bathroom and got twice to check when I could not get to sleep

The Latchmead is run by a very nice couple. They offer a free shuttle service to Stansted Airport during the early morning and the late afternoon hours.

My mum and I have exceptionally high standards and we were not disappointed. The variety of food and drink avilable, and the table set up in the room, was a brilliant idea.It would be great for someone like my husband, who prefers to eat at night and never has breakfast as well as me, who wakes up thinking of food. I've never seen such a clean bathroom, and the pretty bedlinen was agreat finishing touch. The owner came to the door in the morning to check we were up, but we were already admiring the view. Their transfers to the airport were cheap and hassle free. We had a late arrival and the key was easily accessable with good directions to the room. If I need an overnight stop or want to visit the area longer, I will definately return. I would like to try their outdoor pool in warmer weather! 10/10 (much better than the last 4* hotel I stayed in)" (99989828)

Hot chockolate and snacks were in the room -very welcome at that time of night. In the morning I was brought hot chocolate croissants bythe owner. She was friendly and drove me back to Stanstead as part of the service. I was able to regulate the heating myself. Felt as though I was in my own home." (99351940)

We would recommend this establishment to all visitors as the accomodation is within easy access of the airport but is also in a lovely location.
