Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"OK - we were working following day and required a relaxing stay which was spoilt because of the facilities. The hotel gave us a refund without much quibble and I would stay there again if I was assured that everything was working adequately. " (108673701)
Excellent attitude of staff and service was very good.
TV didn't work, shower pressure was poor and shower head blocked so not kept clean, toilet stopped flushing, bedside light not working initially but got that working ourselves after some hassle.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Confusion over the booking however that was due to not having booked directly with the hotel (mix up of names). Great value for money especialy with breakfast included. Bed not the best but overall we had no problems with our stay and would stay again." (107314779)

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"A very uncomfortable night due to the bed. I understand the hotel is gradually being refurbished as some of our friends on the bottom floor were very pleased with their accomodation. Afraid we feel rather short changed due to above bad points, especially when we find out others did not suffer them for the same rate of pay. Are you surprised we don't want to stay again?" (107915728)
Good evening meal and breakfast. Beautiful setting and appearance.
Booked suite - only given standard room. Offered to change which we declined. Tried to then charge for suite at check out! Bar man constantly away from his post doing other duties - gave up on our last drinks order! Bed incredably uncomfortable. Shower very low power. TV didn't work. No shampoo in room, just small piece of normal soap.

WC not filling up had to straighten inlet pipe. No water pressure in the shower. Bar not staffed. Young lady serving with no customer service or manners.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, though it was only for one night....and it would have been even more enjoyable had it not rained almost the entire time we were there!!" (108279596)
We found all the staff to be excellent, especially those serving in the restaurant. All very efficiant, helpful and polite. The food was of very high quality and reasonably priced.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Very good" (107496758)
Decoration and funishing in the room.
Breakfast - it was ok, but it would be good to have a better range of coninental style foods - we don't all want a fry up or sugary processed cereal for breakfast. Maybe some muffins of croissants would be nice.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"A very relaxing, comfortable stay. Some gorgeous function rooms for weddings, a pity there is no private outdoor space. I would say this hotel lends it self to cold winter nights - very cosy and great for a brisk walk up Beeston Castle." (108472851)
Gorgeous food and everywhere very clean. Fantastic views and very peaceful at night time. Great service especially at breakfast. Staff were lovelly and always happy to help.
Some of the fixtures and fittings a bit dated, though the hotel is in the process of updating. Hotel bar not always manned when quiet which means you waiting around or looking for someone.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"The oustide of the hotel and the bar and restaurant were very nice, and the staff were freindly. The hotel is let down by poor quality of rooms which was disappointing." (107877313)
Staff were very friendly and lounge bar and restaurant were nicely decorated. Good food from restaurant.
The room had several faults that could easily be fixed so shows lack of attention to detail. TV in room was so old that the picture was green. The buffet full english breakfast was not kept hot enough by heat lamps.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Our visit was for 3 nights to enable us to revisit parts of Cheshire we used to walk in the past. We thought the room rates were reasonable and that the hotel facade and car park were impressive. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay." (108547200)
All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful and easy to talk to. The mature gentleman on reception was very informative with a pleasnt and relaxed manner. Everyone made us feel very welcome. Our meals were very nice.
The TV in the room seemed to provide the ITV channel only, and not BBC1 etc.

we left early before breakfast and the chefs did us breakfast at 6.15 instead of 7 as we stay here on our now annual trip to oulton park. excellent of the chef to offer us this as we were in a group of 8 with a little child as well. most enjoyable as usual thankyou

vegetarian breakfast was disappointing, it was included in the price but wouldn't have been value for money if not.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Enjoyed our stay a lot, but only wished there was a covered outdoor seating area, especially for smokers when it rains." (108544547)
Check-in lady was very nice. Nice and quiet location. Door seals were superb, and kept the noise from the wedding celebrations isolated. Exterior very well kept. Staff were polite (except for one), and breakfast was delicious.
Check-out lady wasn't nice. Internet connection wasn't working. Room cleanliness was questionable.

Beautiful hotel sympatheticly modernised.Good standard accommodation and it was wonderful not to have the hot stuffy bedroom you often get with most hotels.lovely quite room and a great night sleep.
Got off to a bad start. We could not get anything to eat at 15.30 as all chefs were attending to the wedding. At Breakfast we were greeted with " oh how many of you are there, I thought we had covered everyone". There was limited breakfast left.

Nice spacious room. Good shower. Clean.
Dining staff overstretched. Bride had ordered breakfast in room at 8.00pm - at 9.00pm still not arrived because not enough staff to carry out room service.

Beautiful location. Ideal for visiting Peckforton Castle wedding.Nicely refurbished room. We found the buffet breakfast very tasty.
Asked when booking for a room with a view but did'nt get one . Asked about upgrading to a Junior suite on the day of arrival but we were told they were 'not ready' .

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Nice hotel and convenient location for the wedding at Peckforton Castle. Rooms clean and tidy and nicely decorated. Breakfast was basic but for the price of the room for two inclusive of breakfast it was excellent value for money. All staff were friendly. " (107414228)
The kitchen staff who took our food order as the barman was unable to be found were excellent, very friendly and polite. The food was delivered to our room and was hot and tasty. The receptionist booked a taxi for us to Peckforton Castle.
There was no hairdryer in the room so I had to get one from reception but when I used it it only blew out cold air and therefore took nearly 40 minutes to dry my hair.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Overall a nice place in a good location, let down by lack of attention from staff. Would stay again, but only because it's handy for Oulton Park." (107878478)
Nice location. Handy for our visit the following day to Oulton Park Racing Circuit.
Bar/Restaurant service not good - bar staff not always in attendance. Toilet faulty & not repaired when reported. Bathroom door doesn't fit properly causing it to stick half way open, which is dangerous s could cause injury when walking into the bathroom. Reported to reception on checkout but receptionist did not appear to make any note of the fault. Booking was made for a family room, but ended up with standard double, although I must admit I decided not to mention it because only two of us, but next time, I will.
