Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Can thoroughly recommend this hotel. Staff really helpful. Food in restaurant excellent." (107887021)
Well worth upgrading to a suite if you can.
Not really a bad point - just a personal gripe.... Total shame about the bathroom. Mega design/cut-corners flaw. Huge bathroom cries out for a corner bath, especially in a four-poster room. Really hope management will rethink instead of leaving bog-standard bath in.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"OK could be improved to accommodate an early breakfast for those racing people who stay there on racing weekends." (107577067)
Rooms clean and linen very good.
Lack of staff and attendance. Difficult to get drinks, limited drinks available and also bar food (ran out) Only two members of staff on on the Sunday evening and ordered room service breakfast for 06.30 - 07.00 and it did not arrive. When checking out the gentleman on reception who was very helpful said that he was responsible also for delivering the breakfast which was why it was late. We had to be at the race circuit for 07.30 and really would have liked at least a continental breakfast before we went particularly as we had paid for B and B

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"We found this to be good value for money-especialy the dine-in promotion.Breakfast was also tremendous. The only dissapointment was the bleak view of a whitewash wall from the bedroom. Not a lot that can be done about it, but none the less a dissapointment after the glorious view from the car park." (107354401)
Location excellant for going either across to wales,Manchester, chester etc.Tasteful decor.Staff helpful.Food menu good.
Problem with the heating that caused the hotel to be unbearably hot.Ran out of some of the food choices-although alternatives were excellent.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Pleasant - no major complaints" (107466319)
Pleasant rural location. Friendly staff. Interesting building. Dinner menu was a little predictable but the presentation was first class.
Peeling paint on bathroom ceiling. Faulty damper on corridor fire door which caused loud bang every time the door closed.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"A comfortable hotel that offers good service, staff were responsive and friendly." (107966340)
Generally the service at this hotel was good, we had occasion to hold and family lunch for 22 during our stay and this hotel managed the whole occasion with skill and were very responsive to the needs of the children in the party.
The biggest problem was with the inital booking, although we had a confirmation for the rooms that we booked, when it was eventiually sorted out the rooms that we wanted were not available, the booking sytem needs to be reviewed by the hotel.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel is contrary. Such a shame! The huge contrast between the good and bad points was unusual and reminded us of "Fawlty Towers". The staff were overwhelmed during our Bank Holiday stay and became either arrogant or condescending to guests as they were clearly at breaking point." (107498409)
The room linen, towels, etc were 5* quality and the room size exemplary for our 2-night stay. The restaurant has bags of atmosphere and is a most pleasant room. The lounge was comfortable and pleasant for relaxation. The outlook of our room onto a field full of sheep and lambs was a delight with wonderful gardens!
We ordered a table for 8.30pm and waited until 9.45pm for our first course. The best expression for the food is "kippered" whether it's steak, beef or bacon for breakfast. The bill was incorrect as someone elses' bar bill had been booked to us and management had difficulty accepting their error- which was upsetting.

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"Check in was very poor - despite calling to confirm before we arrived our booking was lost. Left to sit with our bags in the corner for 1/2 an hour. We were heading to a wedding and needed our room to get changed. When we eventually re-booked ourselves in a room was not available. Was shown to a spare double room (not sure why we could use that one) to get changed. Was in the spare room only 5 mins when the receptionist rang to tell us we had to vacate as another guest needed the room to change in. Another set of friends were staying the night and after also using a room that was not theirs - were told that there room was ready. Upon entering the room - it had not been cleaned but was full of towels and dirty linen and used tea cups. In the end we had store our bags in the car and check in late in the evening upon return for the wedding we were attending. The receptionist apologised the next day and explained the staff running the hotel that day was the beautician and the waiter. A suggestion would be full training on how to cover one anothers roles in the event of this happening again. " (107906014)
The receptionist the morning after apologised for the issues we had faced. The breakfast in the morning was very nice

Receptionist first class. Manager very friendly. Quality of food good.
Bar prices very expensive and quality of draught beer poor. Few things wrong with room:Both rooms excessively hot during the night, TV controls partly broken in one room, no toilet rolls in one room (this was rectified without any fuss), evidence of recent decoration still present in one room e.g. masking tape round doors

Very helpful staff - the room was great - but!
Shockingly cheap and lumpy mattress on bed meant we had little or no sleep, shame because the 4 poster was impressive Black tomato served at breakfast put my partner off their breakfast, shame the rest of the meal was generally good

Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston - Reviews & Ratings"A very pleasant hotel in lovely surroundings. Food was excellent. As I am elderly and have arthritis I would have appreciated some help with getting my suitcase upstairs. I did groan about the stairs, but no help was offered, so I just got on with it." (107334213)
Very pleasant room with nice views from window.
The room key did not actually lock the door, as I realised on the last morning. Also, the door was difficult to close as it seemed bigger than the frame! it needed a good push to get it shut

Excellent parking & easy to find. Dogs welcome.
"Critters" in the bathroom. Menu very limited & expensive. Not at all ideal if personal mobility is an issue. £10 per pouch per night excessive.
