"Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay. I loved the hotel and had a great craic on St Paddy's Day in Ennis!" (99116327)

My only complaint would be that both my room and my friends' room smelled like stale smoke. I noticed there was a no smoking sign in the hotel, but then ashtrays are provided in the rooms.

"The hotel was fine. The bar was too hot, though, on the night we spent there (Feb 23)." (99314769)

The room, although clean and sufficient, seemed a little spare for the money.

"As above really. Plus, the hotel is by the Tourist Information and Clare Museum, which is free to go into, so very handy. There's a nice coffee place just nearby and the Ennis Guided Walking Tour leaves from the Celtic Rest at 11am and 7pm every day except Tue - so again very convenient. We'd recommend the tour for anyone staying in Ennis and if you're at the Temple Gate you couldn't be nearer!" (3304991577)

The location is great. As described it is set in a cobbled square (very pretty with lots of flowers and hanging baskets and 'celtic rest' seat) but it's only a few paces until you're out onto the main t junction of the town. You come out into the central part of town by the Daniel O'Connell statue. The three main strees (O'Connell, Parnell and Abbey) are then infront of you, going off in different directions. The hotel is also very nice and were were surprised it was a 3* and not 4*. The breakfast was very good (this was included in our rate with Activehotels) and the bar was pleasant to sit in for a drink.

The only negative thing is that the first night we came back to the hotel just after 1am and the doors were locked! There are two entrances, so we walked to the second and that was locked too! We had to ring a buzzer and someone came to let us in. This is only a minor complaint, and we appreciate it is probably for security reasons, but it's a shame you can't just walk in.

The hotel room and meals were good value for money.

Increase parking area, at night the signs are not clear whether you are in the hotel parking area, or the pay and display car park.

"We only stayed one night, but the Hotel was good and conveniently located for the town centre." (2114030)

That our two rooms for our family were directly opposite and the restaurant and breakfast facilities werer very good.

The Hotel needs better parking faciities and clearer sign posting of which parking spaces belong to the Hotel and which are pay and display.

"We had a lovely stay in a very good position in Ennis, the overall facilities were very good." (1875918)

A good room with adequate facilities, friendly reception staff. Good food.

The radfiator was not turned on upon arrival even though it was a very cold night. Parking was not easy. The wait for breakfast was too long, perhaps due to a conference being there at the same time.
