Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"Double yellow lines outside the hotel so couldn't drop off the luggage before finding a parking space in the NCP multi storey car park opposite, which was difficult on a Saturday afternoon." (97318470)
Very comfortable large bed, good size room, power shower. Excellent swimming pool.
The toiletries in the room weren't very luxurious, no hair conditioner!

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"This was a welcoming hotel with good facilities. Our only complaint was that the room was cold on arrival and took a long time to warm up. Restaurant was pleasant with good food and efficient staff.Very quiet and restful stay." (97877902)
Modern clean style which was welcoming and not too formal. High standard accommodation with excellent facilities
The room was cold on arrival and took well over 3 hrs to get to an acceptable temperature

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay at the Park Plaza the next time we visit Cardiff. The staff at the front desk politely assisted us with our questions and gave us a map with directions when we checked out so we could visit some tourist sites on the way home." (107690782)
The design of the room and bathroom were in line with the spa theme of the hotel. Everything was clean and modern. The bed and pillows were comfortable and there was no noise from outside during the night so we slept very well. The location was within walking distance of the city's center shopping district and the Cardiff Castle so we did not have to use our car the entire weekend.

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"An enjoyable stay. Will ask for a room facing civic centre if staying on a Saturday evening in future." (107193502)
Beautiful foyer , restaurant and bar. Room 5***** very comfortable bed. Fantastic location for shopping in city centre and theatre/St David's Hall. Staff pleasant and helpful. Patio area very pleasant. Excellent breakfast - to be commended for selection and quality of food.
Evening meal not up to expectation. Hock ham starter bland and too cold when served straight from fridge. Steak meal was fine - maybe a little more garnish served with the steak. The extra mushroom as veg did not appear. We did not comment about this at the time. Patio area could do with the addition of floral or greenery.

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and accommodating - they squeezed us in for an early dinner, although already fully booked. The lobby area with the gas fires was very inviting and a nice place to enjoy a coffee after dinner. The leisure facilities are fantastic, including a beautiful, large swimming pool; bedrooms are comfortable. All in all a very pleasant stay." (97512095)
The bedroom was comfortable and quiet - bathroom very good.
There wasn't a view from the bedroom window.

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"I was staying at the hotel as i was running a race in cardiff the next day. Our room was on the first floor and there was possibly a function on? as music boomed on for a large part of the night. Leaving it virtually impossible to sleep. This affected my race performance the next day. I was not impressed. The last time I stayed here the hotel was having some building work done. Noise again, early morning this time. But I was so impressed by the leisure facilities that I would give the hotel a second chance. However, I will not be giving it a third one." (97174778)
central location and i have stayed here before
i couldnt sleep.

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"I should have asked if there was a shower cubicle instead of a bath. I phoned the consierge to ask for a bathing stool for my husband because he finds it difficult to stand for long periods. Unfortunately she was unable to provide this but did offer a disabled room. As we had already unpacked and I had had my shower we declined the offer of transfer and somehow we managed without a stool. However, the staff were very helpful and would rush to open doors for us. Thank you, our overnight stay was very enjoyable." (97310445)
I liked the deep comfortable bed, fluffy big white towels and pristine bed linen.
My husband uses a wheelchair and although the staff were very helpful, I disliked the lack of automatic doors for the disabled.

I hope so. The park plaza hotel is worth every peeny spent staying there as far as i am concerned" (99691243)
The accomodation was more than I expected and was very good the staff were friendly and helpful and the food and service in the restaurant was great
The walls in the room were a little thin and you could hear people in the adjoining rooms getting up in the morning

Our room was excellent and very clean but we felt that a luggage rack in the bedroom might have been useful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we were in the area." (99574501)
Very clean - staff helpful - check-in/check-out fast and efficient - room quiet - an excellent choice
As always at large hotels we dislike buffet style hot food at breakfasts as they never are hot.

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"The stay at the Park Plaza was very good indeed and I would highly recommend it. My only constructive critism would have been there is a lack of information brochures in the room about things that were on locally, that the hotel did pre/post theatre suppers-I read about this in the theatre during the interval. Best methods of transport to get places etc would have been useful. Certainly the front desk managers were very helpful but they were so busy that I felt embarassed to take up their time over such matters. Maybe it would be useful to organize some form of transport to/from the Cardiff airport as this was tricky finding buses etc in a new city.I think that issue of highlighting visitor transport needs to be taken up at a city level" (99319792)

Park Plaza Cardiff, Cardiff - Reviews & Ratings"EVERY member of staff that we interacted with during our stay was helpful, polite, charming and pleasant. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the doors until we left. Thank You to all of you. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very good value for money. The Spa facilities and the pool, especially, were beautifully clean, fresh and relaxing. The room, we think, gets our vote for the best room we can remember staying in in Britain. No; 312! All the common areas were clean, and all was in very good working order. Very quiet for a central city hotel, and such a good location for anything in Cardiff. Thank you very much to the Park Plaza Hotel, Cardiff and all the staff. We will definitely be back!" (99733467)
Generous sized room well designed, furnished with a very good bathroom en suite. We really enjoyed the fact there were no frayed, or Tatty details. We are English, but live in Switzerland and are used to a very high standard of living that british hotels rarely come close to meeting. The Park Plaza, in Cardiff, is one of the exceptions to that.
We very, very rarely say this about any hotel, it,s a survivable down-side of having a beautiful home!, but, Nothing! Not one complaint of any description.

Only minor downside was a bit of traffic noise but as the hotel is in the town centre that's to be expected.

It was spacious and clean with a very relaxing atmosphere. The room was fantastic and the leisure facilities excellent.
The staff weren't the most communicative on the whole and the night time policy seemed a bit strict. Being halted at the door by the same member of staff on both nights demanding to see are room card was intimidating and sloppy.

Modern Hotel in right in the centre of Cardiff.
The views expressed on this page are the personal opinions of guests and therefore do not necessarily represent the views of Active Hotels, Active Reservations or our distribution partners (About our hotel reviews).

"Generally my partner and I had a wonderful time. Although it was quite an ordeal to find the hotel following the directions on the website map. Also I would have preferred to have known that the restaurant was closing early that particular night as we were planning on eating there and therefore had to rush to find a nearby pub so that we could eat before seeing our show." (97863437)
I found the hotel to be very modern, sophisticated and welcoming. The rooms were well equiped and had everything that we needed.
The only negative point that I could think of would be the breakfast. I did not like the fact that the first thing that I saw when we sat down for breakfast was the filthy milk jug on our table which had clearly not been cleaned as there was a yellow layer flaking off into the milk! It put me off the rest of my breakfast. Also the hotel does not have any parking which then means an extra charge!
