The hotelier agreed that we could arrive late eg 10pm. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. There was hot water and we could work the shower.

The welcome was warm and friendly and staff were very courteous & helpful. The room was clean.

The furnishings & decor were shabby. The room (a flat roof extension) was very cold even though the heating was on and the radiator was hot. (Although it was an extremely cold night)

"this hotel was closed up for most of the day. there was no one in reception when i tried to check in and i had to wait 1hour and 15 minutes before anyone opened up the hotel. I was unable to get a drink from the bar at 10.30pm as i was informed that it was closed for the night. the hotel generally was shabby and we were sent to our rooms at 11.45pm and told the lounge was closing. my room was shabby but the water was hot and everything worked. the owner was polite and helpful and the continental breakfast was good." Not a lot really. it bore very little resemblance to the pictures in the website

"My stay was very brief but I had a friendly and informative welcome. I liked the fact the Hotel was situated close to public transport facilities and in a quiet leafy area. I felt £40.00 was a little expensive mind." (2109688)

The overall cleanliness of the Hotel

The breakfast room was not signposted. No full english breakfast offered on Sunday.

"We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel was as advertised, the room came with all the extras mentioned above (and it helped seeing a photo of the room on the website). We even had a text message from the hotel asking when we were due to arrive, after we had been delayed in traffic. The hotelier was waiting for us when we arrived and made us feel extremely welcome. We were a little disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Saturday, but we didn't realise it was the yearly Diwali festival that weekend and most of the staff were off duty. The hotel was very comfortable. N.B. the hotel may be difficult to access for people with restricted mobility as most of the rooms are reached by stairs, and the hotel itself is reachable only by steps. A few rooms (including ours) are on the same level as the entrance. It is worth phoning to check." (1618538)

Little things like hair dryer, iron, etc., wonderful service, extremely courteous and helpful staff.

We noticed one fire door was wedged open

    "No comment" (1547188)

I was able to come and go without too much fuss, much simpler all round than staying at larger hotel. Accommodation suited my overnight arrangements, obviously requirements for a longer leisure stay might be different, but somebody travelling light and on business everything was fine.

The directions wern't very clear so some time was wasted motoring about trying to find the Hotel. Obviously not a problem for me next time, but I can't be the only person to have gone astray on the first visit.
