Wonderful sea view from our room. Friendly helpful staff. Handy parking in the hotel's own carpark right in front of the hotel. Excellent value for money.
We would have preferred a firmer bed, but everyone has their own taste.

He then opened the bar so we could have a nightcap and showed to us to our cosy room. Bed was really comfy with immaculately clean bedding. Great breakfast, stunning view over the seafront. Excellent value for money. If you are looking for a friendly, warm and comfortable place to stay then this is the one for you." (107712457)

Good location, friendly staff, clean.
The room we had is due for renovation in the near future and was therefore a little "scruffy", but everything was clean and working. We were shown several of the rooms that have been refurbished and we'll definitely be going back.

Absolutely fantastic place! A special mention needs to go out to John, the man who runs the Chaise. He's an absolut star! The rooms are great, with spectacular views over the North Sea and the pier! The breakfast is also hard to beat and John even goes out of his way to suit special requirements as regards serving times! A good man, indeed!
Sometimes the water in the shower tends to be difficult to adjust but that is about all I can say that wasn't absolutely great!

Excellent sea view, very large room, very friendly family-run hotel, lots of choice of good food for breakfast, evening meal available on request
only downside was the slightly dodgy plumbing, draining the sink led to water coming up in the shower

very good customer relations. I was impressed with John's attitude. He seemed to care for his customers very much and made sure that I was comfortable. I would recommend this guesthouse to my friends and I will undoubtedly stay there again on my next trip to Sunderland. Additionally, the price is unbelievably agreeable; that is, it is far cheaper than the hotels located in central Sunderland and the Marriott hotel just down the road.
Perhaps the central heating could have been on. It was a bit cold during the night but not uncomfortable.

The rooms were designed for families and so are large. Although some decoration is needed the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful." (97771938)
The view from the bedroom (room 10) was stunning. The cooked breakfast was superb.
The timer on the front door was too short (6 seconds). Shampoo was not provided.
