Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"enjoyed it - staff were excellent - breakfast was dissapointing. Would have to say that bar prices were rather over the top though. And i havent taken that into acccount in the value for money review as not everyone would use it." (107806924)
nice tidy room - very comfortable bed
room was cool (but not freezing) and radiators appeared to be off with no other source of heating. Breakfast wasnt great - very small english breakfast and black pudding was very over done.

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"At £135 a night one expects at lot better than this" (107654505)
A good setting
Tis is a very average hotel. It shows its age, looks 'kicked', needs a good clean/redecoration. The rooms have very bland decoration with a quite dreaful uPVC window extension that spoils the nature of the building. The room was cold and the radiator wouldn't work. Breakfast was also a bland, lowest common denominator affair. All in all very disappointing.

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"3rd time of staying there, probably the last time." (107893686)
Lovely setting
Took over 15 minutes to be seen when booking in, mnade me late for the event I travelled up for! Room smelled of stale cigarettes, had to open window to try and freshen up as much as possible. Room was in annexe, so far away from leisure complex in main hotel that put me off bothering to use the pool/jacuzzi.

Fantastic setting, good food.
Shame the large bed was only 2 pushed together and only had a duvet with no top sheet or bedspread Did not really feel that the room fitted the bill of Double Executive

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"This hotel is in very pleasant surroundings, but is let down by poor service." (97143827)
Room was clean and well equipped.
Check in took ages. They need to sharpen up their procedures. Restaurant and bar service was abysmal. Having booked a table in the restaurant, I was then told when I turned up that there was no record of my booking and no tables available. I then tried to eat in the bar, but despite having many waiting staff on duty, nobody would take my order. After half an hour, I went elsewhere to eat. In the morning, I was determined not to eat in the hotel after my experiences the night before. I had elected to use the express check-out but asked for a copy of my bill before I left. I then found that they had tried to charge me £15 for a breakfast which I hadn't had. Good job I did ask for the bill there and then.

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was situated in a lovely setting - the hotel had an air of peace and tranquility" (97604645)
The hotel staff were very polite and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Lunch from the bar was excellent and breakfast in the restaraunt too was excellent - service from staff could not be faulted
Rooms could do with air contditioning - a fan was supplied but on this occasion did not keep the room cool enough

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"As you can see, the negatives outweigh the positives. It seemed very expensive compared to the experience - people were good but the hotel wasn't. Make of that what you will." (97955109)
Staff generally attentive & friendly (esp. in restaurant).
Bed uncomfortable. Noise from bar area (near room) went on until 2am in the morning. Internet connection kept on failing (15 minutes out of hour paid for)plus connector was positioned next to TV - not on the desk which is where I needed / preferred to work (so had to work on the same shelf the TV was on). Leisure facilities OK but limited (pool area very small so could only swim 2-3 strokes each time). Prices of food in restaurant / bar far too high for quality of food served.

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"Although the hotel was in pleasant surroundings and reception staff pleasant and helpful, I felt the accommodation was pricey for bed and breakfast. The dirty breakfast table was the most off-putting." (97193001)
Good size room and bed. Linen was clean and crisp. Reception staff polite and efficient.
Television did not receive terrestrial stations. Bathroom floor a bit grubby. Iron was in poor state with burnt on bits of fabric. Carpet in corridor smelt. Breakfast table VERY dirty with orange juice spilt, tomato sauce stains etc from previous diners.

The hotel is in a lovely setting with well kept grounds.
The hotel is much in need of referbishment. The pool is frankly a waste of space. Far too small. The gym equipment is too limited.

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"Would have liked to know that there were large functions taking place on both nights. That the restaurant staff had little, if any, grasp of English, that the room had probably mot been used for some time and would take 12 hours to warm up, that you needed two strong hands to turn off the shower, that the hot water system was not fit for purpoase. That as you walked into reception all you could smell was cigarette smoke from the Bar...we almost left before we began over this one.... etc." (99305017)
Set in nice grounds
Run as a function hotel, not as a visitor hotel.

No attention to detail, and the fact that the staff on checkout tried to overcharge by some

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"Overall it was not bad, but the lift problem in particular, and the other items mentioned above, did not give us a good impression on the day of arrival. The dinner was good and the restaurant staff were particularly nice." (99526447)
Lovely country setting. Character building. Most staff very nice. Good restaurant.
The bar was not opened on Friday lunchtime until 1.45 and our requests for a bar drink after a long journey by road were not satisfied for almost an hour. There was staff confusion about bar opening and staffing too. The reception check-in was not friendly. It was a disappointing arrival for us. There should have been a lift to the room or at least staff to help with bags up the difficult stairs in this old but beautiful building.

The room was a good size with plenty of electrical sockets and very clean.
There were quite a lot of flies in the room when we arrived but this was mainly because the windows had been open and it's the time of year!

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"Felt that the restaurant was rather dated and although we had booked a table in advance felt that we were situated in an overspill area. However the quality of the food and the service in the dining room were excellent. All od the staff who served in the restaurant in the morning and the eveingings were very friendly and helpfull. When we used the bar on the Saturday evening the bar staff seemed very harrassed as there was a wedding party in the bar area. The bar shutters were down and it was unclear to us if the bar was closing or not, it was 8pm. When we asked if the bar was open the gentleman behind the bar seemed agitated and although he did serve us with a drink we felt that we were not receiving the best of welcomes. We did not have a second drink in the bar. The young man in charge of the health suite was very friendly and although there was a problem with the pool on the Saturday afternoon and we were unable to use this facility the other facilities were available. Reception staff were also very friendly and helpfull." (3305219740)
The surroundings were very nice. Bed was comfortable. Staff were very attentive
The room was a bit shabby, wallpaper coming away from the wall. At one point when the hairdryere was on a piece of the bordrer paper flutered down.? T.V kept switching off?

Ramada Bristol North, The Grange, Winterbourne - Reviews & Ratings"Had an enjoyable stay with very good restaurant staff. It would have been nice to have been advised at the time of booking or before arrival that the Spa complex was out of action." (3304282344)
Room was very clean and there was plenty of hot water.
Dinner menu was fair but the content of the food could do with a little improvement.

"awful! I have given up on Ramada Hotels I will stay in a Holiday Inn or Premier Hotel in future." (108432985)
only the evening duty manager. She was very helpful and pleasent also the Morning Breakfast manager very helpful and polite The other good point was when we left this awful hotel in the morning
The evening meal was absolutly appalling! I have never had such bad food in a hotel. The waitress was very rude. The rest manager was like Iven the terrible. Our room was freezing when we arrived, the evening duty manager was very helpful and put a heater in our room. The decor in the hotel was like being in a mental institution horrible. I would rather stay in the hotel grounds in a tent then stay in your hotel again!!
