Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"I am sure in a better room we would have had a brilliant time" (107662915)
The quality of the hotel and the setting was great
When wwe arrived we were allocated a twin room which had a terrible veiw of a flat roof and a brick wall it was also next to the lift which could be heard each time in use. I went to advise I booked a double. the lady in charge had the attitude of take it or leave it as they had a large wedding party. I appriciate they were busy but I was a guest to!!!

we had put in a wake up call. Obviously I did not hear it. At reception they said it would ring 3 times,BUT if a wake up call is not answered, they should try again and let it ring longer.

Excellent suite/ excellent parking facilities/ excellent cleanliness throughout the hotel.
We used B&B only facilities and found the breakfast menu when viewed over 6 days to be disappointingly limited. The full English buffet was OK although often we had to wait while some items were replenished - a better selection is called for including boiled or poached eggs wth the option of say fish. The continental choice was even more disappointing and very limited with eg no cheeses or cold meats.

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"Overall enjoyable experience" (107113328)
Well organised wedding reception
Poor check out experience. Long queue, and only one member of staff. Frustrating tap arrangement on wash hand basin. Too close to edge of basin.

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"Luckily only had to stay one night " (107260895)
????? Early evening bar staff very helpful re transport into York
Script reading robot on reception. Allocated room for disabled person! Why? Black bacterial fungus on grouting and disability equipment in the bathroom. Contacted reception to report no hair drier was asked if I had looked in drawers! Stupid question!

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"overall good quality but quite expensive for an out-of-town hotel" (97556899)
smart; well appointed; good breakfast; efficient staff
quite expensive; lacked character; allowed a coach to warm up early in the morning close to reception and our window thus causing an unnecessary disturbance (mainly thoughtlessness by coach driver but hotel staff should have been aware of the possible disturbance and taken action)

Spacious clean comfortable
Too near the road, we would have asked to change room if stay had been longer

Very nice place to stay, breakfast was fantastic as it was grilled. Good value for money.
I did feel the room I stayed in and the bathroom was in need of redecoration as the border on the wall was ripped and a few marks on the wall, mainly the bathroom as the bath was marked and grouting was discoloured. Nothing major though!

Bath was blocked and some mould on bathromm tiles. Room was cold until we reported it to reception. Seems that thermostat and radiator valve are turned down. Also when we returned to the room someone (a cleaner I guess) had left the window open. No part of the hotel seemed to have an outlooking window with a view.

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"When booking online you never quite know if it is a good as it says but on arrival at the Ramada both my husband and i were very impressed not only with the hotel but with its locality to York. It was exactly what we were looking for. First impressions always count and we were not disappointed. The room was very spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The only thing that let the room down slightly for me was the fact the electrical iron was broken and staff did know this but nothing had been done, but on talking to reception they quickly sent up a new iron and board. Overall very impressed and we had a wonderful relaxing and enjoyable weekend." (3304889257)
Very clean and spacious. Staff very friendly and accomodating.

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was a pleasant experience. The staff were as friendly as you would expect and were helpful when asked for assistance." (3304689960)
I liked the fact we could enjoy our breakfast at our leisure and not have to rush to get there in time.
The accommodation was clean and there was nothing wrong with the accommodation, however, upon arrival at the hotel we were unable to check in to our room before we had to be at our appointment. Therefore we had to leave our bags unattended in the reception until late Saturday evening.

All basics were covered in the hotel, and its location to rawcliffe park and ride.
The room interior needed updating and room window would not lock and was covered in cigarette ash.

bathroom, room service menu after 10pm, lack of sky tv channels: I was part of a filming production for living tv that was broadcast throughout the uk and ireland live over the weekend. The filming did not finish until 01:00am for each night. I WAS DISSAPOINTED THAT THE HOTEL DID NOT HAVE A REASONABLE CHOICE OF ROOM SERVICE AFTER 10pm AND THE BAR AREA WAS ALSO CLOSED.

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"Good location but out of town so no other facilities close to without driving or using the bus. (We found parking in York no problem but a bit expensive). The meals were reasonable value for money but drinks on the pricey side. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and couldn't be faulted." (2895315)
Very good sized room (410) not sure if this is representative of all in the hotel but certainly a comfortable size with good furniture.
The old part of the hotel we were in had some of the squeakiest floors I've experienced a carpenter could be well employed! Some doors seemed to have to be slammed which was a bit noisey at times.

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"More detail of prices to expect. Breakfast was expensive when we did not have the full English breakfast. The staff were all really charming." (2980974)
It was above average.
Bar policies: smallest sherry measure I have ever experienced: South African Pinotage with dinner was heavily oaked. No one I know has experienced oaked Pinotage before; it is expected to be a clean, medium-bodied wine and could have spoilt the meal.

The room was quite large but strangely depressing, needed updating. The entrance is very impressive and the public areas quite comfortable
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, with springs coming through the cover. When I mentioned this to the receptionist (who was very pleasant) she stated that all the beds were new.

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"overall a very nice hotel with pleasant and helpful reception staff, but we thought quality of the food and service at breakfast and dinner let it down somewhat." (2831778)
Room, hotel and grounds very nice, secluded but with excellent access to historic York
A smile and help at breakfast would be nice. If breakfast is served until 11, a welcome at 10.30 and the offer of coffee and toast is not much to ask

Ramada York, Fairfield Manor, York - Reviews & Ratings"Comfortable, friendly and visibly impressive. Quiet surroundings with adequate parking. All information need was available when booking, anything else that I needed to know the hotel staff answered before we went" (2749015)
The staff were superb especially the night porter. Rooms were just what we expected.
Breakfasts could be cheaper.

Staff friendly and efficient. Liked the public area decor. Liked to be able to open window in room. Liked bottled water in room.
Would have liked some hand soap in the bathroom.
