Reasonably cheap, easy to book, available
Very dated decor, old small portable TV mounted high on the wall - like viewing a postage stamp, threadbear towels, flat pillows, mould on the shower mat so unusable, very noisy fan ran for ages after switching light off

I stayed in Dene Hotel just opposite Comfort Inn because at 9.30pm Comfort Inn had closed the reception. Dene Hotel was good value - excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
I booked on line at 5.30pm to stay that night and upon arrival at Dene Hotel (Comfort Hotel had no reception at 9.30pm) they did not have any booking for me. I was put into a room on the first floor in Dene Hotel and the manager helped with the heavy luggage bec there was no lift. Room was fine but looked as though it could do with a freshen up, particularly the room front door that had numerous scratches on it and the bathroom tiles that had black mould on them.

Cheap and easy to locate. Enough car parking.
Hotel doesnt look clean at all, and bad smell all around. WIFI in advertised and it is not availble. Bad lightinh and doors are not in good shape. No pressure in the shower and also broken shower head.Overall very bad experience.

Cleanliness was of a good standard
Arrived at midday. Was told to go away as room wasn't ready. Had to pay before viewing the room. Would have asked for a better room. It was so dark had to have the light on. Outside was lovely and sunny.

Good access and quiet, plenty of parking space. Reasonably clean and tidy.
Telephone did not work and was not repaired during the 2 nights I was there.

reception called my mobile to inform me that the room key would be located at the sister hotel (Dene Hotel) across the road as i would be arriving after 8pm.
the above information was not anywhere to be found on my booking information!

First romm given was,unmade bed,dirty towels on bathroon floor,had to go to reception to complain,then given a room that was clean.

The staff were polite and helpfull.
The shower didn't work properly the blanket wasn't clean! The breakfat left a lot to be desired - the cuasonts were stail and the cheese slices were hard!!

I found the staff excellent and very helpful, but the condition of the sofa and chair in the room were not at all clean, the room smelt a little fusty,dusty needs refurbishing, but adequate for my stay.

The helpful & cooperative staff, the clean but basic room, the welcoming open fire on our arrival.
We had to fix the aerial on the TV. Found a wood lice in the bathroom!

Dated grubby decor and bath/shower facilities poor tv reception. Advertise on line as having smoking rooms which I requested. On arrival I was informed you dont have smoking rooms.Why should I pay for a room and have to stand outside in the cold or rain?

It would only be fair to try again and would probably be happy to stay in the location again provided the room was a little better. We would normally stay in a Premier Inn these days as these tend to be predictable and clean. It was available at short notice and the reception staff where helpful and friendly.
Room was stuffy and cramped. Opening the window filled the room with the kitchen exhaust. Unpleasant cooking smells. Presumably the result of a last minute room. During the night we could clearly hear the toilet habbits of the next room.

It was very noisy, particularly at night when we struggled to sleep. The bed also needed a duvet.

Web site was confusing, it was not clear that I had paid. I had to pay at the hotel dispite giving all my card details on line. Hotel had no details of me when I arrived. Luckily, there was a room free. I would not book with UK accom again. If felt like I paid twice!!!
