Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre Riverside, Norwich - Reviews & Ratings"Ok would use again but probably only 1 or 2 nights" (108948084)
Close to pubs, resturants, and about 10/15 minutes to main Norwich town centre
Not very good room noise insulation or windows - a lot of street noise could be heard through the windows.

close proximity to city centre Good restaurant attached to hotel
very poor soundproofing between rooms and floors. very disturbed night the first night having to listen to serious argument from room above us. The second night when it started we phoned reception, who sorted it out.

Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre Riverside, Norwich - Reviews & Ratings"Overall satisfactory for price range - improvements to items under "bad points" would be inexpensive to implement but make stay much more comfortable " (108407212)
Good location, modern facilities, excellent service from friendly staff
Meals could not be charged to room; room lacked drawers for storing clothes (necessitating "living out of suitcase"), no Kleenex in bathroom, shaver outlet (used for charging cell-phone) only operated when bathroom light on

Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre Riverside, Norwich - Reviews & Ratings"A pleasurable experience. We were fortunate in being able to get a room at such short notice. We would like you to consider offering a discount to guests who arrive by public transport, as we did, and thereby lessening the pollution of our planet." (108118190)
Convenient for station and cathedral.
Difficult to achieve a comfortable temperature with the room's air conditioner.

very helpful, friendly staff. Great restaurant with a very friendly, attentive waitress who, like ourselves had lived in Leeds
We had been allocated a double room although we had booked a twin. Hiwever, this was immediately rectified by the reception staff

A good choice of food, lovely clean rooms.
Temperature could do with being a bit lower. The TV, could be angled slightly more towards the bed.

Staff, resturant and location all good
The room was noisey as it was next to the lift and some kind of genorator, the window did not open at all. This was a pity as all else was good

Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre Riverside, Norwich - Reviews & Ratings"The staff was very apologetic regarding the bathroom and bought us a drink in the bar. If we come back we will skip the breakfast." (107426290)
Excellent location
Breakfast was over priced. Very poor service and the food tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer too long. Had to change rooms as the bathroom hadn't been cleaned - used towels in the bath, unflushed toilet, etc.

Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre Riverside, Norwich - Reviews & Ratings"Enjoyable on the whole: it could have been worse, but it could also have been better." (107666710)
Pleasant situation overlooking the river. Wonderful to have the restaurant windows open and the sun flooding in for an 'open air' breakfast ! Staff cheerful and helpful.
We booked a twin-bedded room, but were shown to a small double-bedded room. Reception was rung, and another room found - larger, with a double bed and a couch, which was later made up into a single bed. Why advertise twin-bedded rooms if the hotel hasn't got any? This is the only hotel we have ever stayed in (with experience on three continents) that requires payment for each meal (apart from breakfasts) at the time of consumption. Why ??? We had lunch on the way to Norwich at The Brampton Hut, and had soup for lunch. We had an identical soup for dinner in Norwich. Next day we had a virtually identical soup for lunch, and again for dinner in the evening. The whole menu was, of course, identical at The Brampton Hut and The Nelson apart from a very small list of 'Today's Specials', which presumably is exactly the same in all your hotels over the British Isles, and leaves no scope for the individuality of your numerous chefs. Maybe we were amongst the later arrivals for breakfast, but each day items ran out which were not replaced until we asked for them Insufficiency of staff ? Because we were entertaining two friends for dinner one evening we asked if we could book a table, were assured we could, so we reserved a particular table (as far away as possible from the blaring loudspeaker!). When we arrived in the evening the table was already occupied, and we were told that tables could not be booked except for large parties, conventions, etc. Fortunately, the waitress on duty was very sympathetic to our predicament, spoke to the duty manager, and found us a table away from the main dining area which provided a perfect evening for our two guests, who much enjoyed their visit. The loud (too loud!!) speaker in the restaurant did not add to the enjoyment of our meals. The second bedroom seemed to be an awfully long way from reception.(The one next to ours was the furthest.) Wouldn't really like a long stay in the hotel with an unchanging menu.

if you have the a river view room, beware, there is a fair amount of traffic noise untill about 2am, even with the windows closed.

Lovely room overlooking the river in Norwich with excellent restaurant facilities available.
Unfortunately, the room was very noisy especially in the late evening due to nearby restaurants just over the other side of the river.

Friendly, efficient staff. Nice rooms.
We changed rooms for our second night because the double bed was broken in the middle and we each spent the night rolling into each other. Also, the lock on the door was inoperative.Breakfast food was decent in quality but everything was luke warm including the tea. Food in the restaurant was poorly conceived and poorly executed.

The whole process was very professional, rooms clean, staff enthusiastic and friendly. Allowed to leave car parked for the day after staying overnight.
Hotel difficult to find by car if a stranger in Norwich. Car parking area could be better lit and signed. The bedrooms could have been better sound proofed. The low numbers lift doors were grating and need attention.

i booked the hotel for my brother. when he arrived at the hotel the room wasnt paid for. i assumed it was. he had no way of paying because it was booked through me. when i phoned to sort it out they told me there was no one of his name at the hotel! he had checked in only a few hours before. then they said that the booking had been cancelled five days before i had even made it.!! even though my brother was there! eventually it was sorted out but i certainly wasnt impressed with the hotel reception losing the booking.

Great value for money in a great location. Standard rooms are great at such low cost. I had a room with a view and the bathroom was greatly maintained. Both housekeeping and reception team were helpful
