price £14 for 2 of us including B&B. An error on the booking system but fair play to the hotel it honoured the booking and our room had a nice view of the marina which we could have ended up in a broom cupboard for that price. well done to the reception staff and Manager
not a bad point as such but pity about the building work next door

Friendly staff
1) slow service at breakfast: waitresses seemed preoccupied and forgot to do basic things like bring orange juice. 2) lift broke down: long way to walk up to sixth floor and then down again with all our baggage when checking out.

There was a problem with the hotel last Wednesday which as far as the hotel was dealt with, however, it cost £40 each way to stay at Hintlesham Hall. This was not an acceptable alternative when one is staying one evening and desire to stay in a central hotel.
Insufficent time to change arrangements - I travel casually and dressing for dinner is not an option.

The charming and helpful staff especially over the Christmas holiday was a delight.
It would have been nice if the lounge had been available. Car parking was a bit sparse. TV channels somewhat limited.

Helpful staff, good food
Very noisy room, loud dronning noise kept me awake all night. There was a view of a wall about two foot from the window. Loose tile on the bathroom floor.

Fantastic spacious room, lovely views, very comfortable beds, very nice bathroom.
Breakfast disappointing because did not seem to have been freshly cooked - seemed to have been kept hot for a while and only the egg freshly cooked. The weather was not very hot but the stairway and ground floor loo were stifling.

The hotel staff where very help, the car park was full when I arrived they arranged alternative parking.The room was very comfortable. Loved the orignal internal brickwork.

The room was great and in the evening we had a drink in the lounge which was nice and relaxing. We did not eat in the Brasserie because a, it was very noisy and b, rather expensive. Within walking distance to the town centre is an excellent pub with very good food for good value. Breakfast was a bid disappointing, for the price that is being charged the portion was rather small." (99861717)
Upon reserving the hotel I had requested a room with a harbour view which we got. The room was spacious and the bathroom fabulous.

I would have liked the room to have contained a fridge and also a safe for valuable items rather than having to store them in the hotel safe. Although the lift was not in use (these things happen) we were lucky enough to find our room was only on the first floor! The room itself (a Standard) was lovely. A modern spacious bathroom, a well decorated bedroom with quality furnishings and plenty of lighting to suit your mood. Although our stay was in a wet, dreary February, the view of the quay was also a very pleasant one. A standard room but, as I think it mentions on the hotel's web site, it was anything but standard. Salthouse Harbour Hotel, Ipswich - Reviews & Ratings"The reception area is very cool and stylish. Up to the bedrooms and the standard does not drop. The attention to detail throughout is impressive. The bathroom was perfect with a really powerful shower. The bedroom was very spacious, with great view and very comfortable bed. We had our dinner and breakfast in our room and both times the food was fantastic. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. In fact, we can't wait to come again and think that you'd be hard pushed to find this quality at these rates anywhere else." (99170399)
The style of the hotel is laid back but very modern and chic. It has a lovely inviting atmosphere and all you could need for a really relaxing night.

Great location, beautiful hotel with friendly staff....... bed extremely comfortable.
Staff at breakfast not helpful, appeared disinterested. Tables unclean. Food only just adequate in quality and choice.

Large room in very modern hotel with lovely view over the marina
We were unable to check in until late (11pm)and the radiator had been left on low so the room was quite chilly. Also bathroom was lovely and modern but the light kept flickering.

Front entrance rather difficult to find. Limited parking space available. Sound proofing could be improved.

Whistling/buzzing noise in the room at night - not air-con, possibly from outside. Lounge area rather dead, and bar area just part of the restaurant, so nowhere welcoming to sit.
