"If you would like to get away from the world to a hotel that is so homely it is wonderful this is the place to be. I had wonderful home reared food that had no food miles attached to it. The only cost to the environment I could find was my driving there in the first place. A place to take the stresses of life away without the enforeced relaxation of a Health Spa. I can't really describe Hafod Elwy Hall, I just feel recharged by having been there." (97607316)

A beautiful situation, excellent food and just a wonderful place to get away from it all and recharge

"A nice hotel with a friendly 'family' feeling. Very good home cooking. Furnished very well throughout. Added touches made the stay even better. A great place to stay for a good nights sleep, although it could prove a bit remote for some. Meal times are very relaxed time wise although if you want an evening meal it can be a bit difficult if your not sure what time your going to be back and don't want to keep other guest waiting. If you like to keep yourself to yourself, this may not be the place for you." (97741251)

    nicely furnished and clean.

no television in the room we were in, and, on arrival, it was a little cold.

Very good walking area from the accommodation.Food excellent, well cooked and home grown, but if you want a varied menu to choose from each night there is not one. again did not matter too us.What a place to explore wales from if you come from abroad." "Hafod Elwy is a very individual place and a fantastic, relaxing way to spend a few days - if you love good food, beautiful views, amimals, wood fires and peace and quiet, you'll love it here. The rooms are amazing and beautifully decorated, and ours had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! It is small, and there are only 3 rooms, so you usually share a table with other guests at meal times. This makes for lots of fun and friendly banter and a good way to meet interesting people. We'll definately be going back." (99775981)

Our room was beautiful with a big 4-poster bed, beuatiful furniture, and a large bathroom with an old Victorian bath nexdoor. The food was first class and cooked by the lovely Roger, who is also rears the animals and grows the veg free range on the adjoining farm. A 3 course dinner costs about £15 per head. The menagerie of animals and birds at the Hall is fantastic and we loved touring the farm and seeing the newborn piglets. Lots of great walks nearby. Very secluded and a long way from the road or any other buildings.
