Large room with seperate ensuite and wonderful hosts - very accommodating - provided flowers, champaigne and a car for our wedding anniversary.
Town itself 'Shipton on Stour' - not much to do. Accommodation was not 3 star - there was no pool as advertised on the website - small print reads provided by a thrid party - pool is in the town centre - misleading.

Window wouldn't close and it was a very cold weekend. Bar below was very noisy at times.

Falcon Inn, Nr Stratford Upon Avon, Shipston On Stour - Reviews & Ratings"I had booked a family room and asked for a bed for a 6 year old, there was none available and the Falcon was unaware of the request. They were recovering from a flood and a proper meal, breakfast was unavailable due to refurbishment, the website did not mention this aspect. Staff were helpful and friendly and the room was pleasant, with the exception of the missing bed. They did make up an airbed for our daughter who treated it as an adventure." (97589282)

proximity to venue. adequate parking. Friendly staff. clean bedding, good shower and toilet facilities. Everything worked.
Establishment has recently suffered from flood damage. There was clear evidence of the impact of this. The room itself was 'tired' and needed refreshing. some road noise immediately outside.

Car parking at the hotel is likely to be a problem, but there are free car parks within easy walking distance. Expect plain fare, but you won't need a lunch if you take the full English Breakfast. The family owners clearly want you to have a good time and are willing to help you to do so - they included my newspaper order in their ordinary purchase." (99555052)
The owners were very welcoming, helped with car-parking. The breakfast was very good and efficient.
The room decoration needs some attention, and we will like it better when the no-smoking comes in in all parts.

We did however have problems parking in the car park when we first arrived and also when we came back from eating out in the evening. As this B&B is also a local pub we did experience a level of noise at night we expected some noise as people come and go to the pub, but the main problem was the music as it was played until 12am and as our room was directly above the bar area it was very loud for us. It did stop at 12 and we slept fine after so if you are not planning to go to bed early you should not experience any problems." (99491845)
The bedroom and bathroom were of a good size they were well presented and very clean.
Car park to difficult to get a space. Noise from the pub below the bedroom.

Sadly the room was at the top of a single flight of stairs, directly above the bars. There was no information about music on weekends, the kareoke went on until 11.30pm at a level which made the room shake, (no joking). The pub then cleared around 2am, due to a party." (3304033287)
The room was as good, clean & spacious.
It would be helpful if a sign was put out to let you know that you have to go to the bar to book in. having not stayed in an 'inn' before, I spent several minutes in and out of doors looking for a reception.

But, if you are looking for a peaceful, genteel place to stay in a Cotswold Market Town then don't think about the Falcon, because its not for you!" (99435323)
Very nice hosts, very willing to please and very friendly, comfortable room and the bed had a duvet rather than standard hotel blanket issue.
Far too noisy, the Pub is very popular and festivities went on into the early hours.

The check-in took place at the end of the bar and was courteously and efficiently carried out. The staff, especially the landlord and his wife, were most welcoming and very easy to talk with. The breakfast was especially good (no supermarket junk here!) and more than adequate. The one downside of our experience was, we feel, a pretty serious one. We were not informed that the rooms were immediately above a bar, which on Friday and Saturday nights is open until two o'clock a.m. with juke-box music and loud talking (which I realise is part and parcel of a bar), with the consequence that we didn't get to sleep until well into the morning. We understand that on other nights of the week, especially Sundays, the bar winds down somewhat earlier, which would make the hotel acceptable for us on nights other than Friday or Saturday (we stayed on a Friday night). For people not naturally disposed to bar-propping or those with an early start we would probably not recommend this place on a Friday or Saturday night - but in all other respects it should be fine." Everything. The room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, well furnished (TV, tea/coffee etc.) and the bed, while firm, was comfortable (no individual mattress springs poking through). Lighting was discreet and well ordered. The room in general was one of the best that my wife and I have stayed in.

The only thing I would say is that it is above a pub, some noise did travel up the stairs but not enough to worry about and it didn't go on late, but it may be worth checking what events are on at the pub before booking." The village is charming and exceptionally clean, the locals we warm and friendly and the local amentities provided everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Nearby Sratford is a slightly more buzzing metropolis which doesn't captivate quite the village spirit for charm, although would be a more choice location for the slightly faster pace should that be desired." The room we were welcomed to was bright, airy and very inviting. My partner and I enjoyed the falcon both for atmosphere and location. We received a welcome like passing relatives and look forward to passing on our recommendation to other friends and family.We thought the Teddy was a lovely touch!

Nice spacious, clean room with shower and other appliances in good working order.
We were kept waiting at check-in as the bar lady was also the person doing the check-in's and it was a busy Sat pm. Can be a little noisy due to be located both above a pub and on a main road.

However, when we arrived I was so impressed with the quick check in, being brought to the room and shown everything. The next morning at breakfast, we were once again greeted with the same unasssuming friendliness. The whole approach epitomises the importance of customer service, my lasting memory was the smile and friendly chitchat of the staff - don't under estimate it!" (2212856)
Staff in this mini hotel/BB accomadation could not have been nicer. The rooms were decorated in keeping with the area, cosy, cottagey and above all clean.
Small gripes but no iron in the room - I think we borrowed the owners. More pillows please for aching heads after heavy nights.

Our hosts were most pleasant + helpful in all aspects , rooms very clean with fresh flowers , nice thought.Roaring log fire in combined lounge/bar area , some may prefer separate areas , we don't + throughtly enjoyed our stay .Wonderful breakfast .A very good base for sightseeing area" (1999798)

Only one pillow which was vvery uncomfertable. It said on the board served food til 8:45 but when we asked they said they wern't serving on that particular night.
