The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious.
The only negative was that we were in an attic room and it was very warm even though the weather wasn't that good. It was too noisy due to the road outside to leave the windows open at night, and a small fan in the room would've been useful.

The hotel is on the main bus route with stops close by. We thoroughly enjoyed our short relaxing stay at the Ashbourne House hotel and will return on our next visit to York." (107430091)
Large, well equipped and comfortable warm bedroom. Good choice of breakfast menu, food cooked and presented very well in a spacious dining room. The hotel owners and family were very friendly and welcoming throughout our short stay, offering advice about local services and amenities. There is off road parking on site which was excellent.

Excellent room & facilities. Room space considerably above most of the hotels we stayed in the past years. Excellent breakfast and wide range of selections. Especially the breakfast selection process was very convenient.

Its location on a good road on the south side of the city means that it is easy to find, and there are good local bus connections for travelling into York or to the retail outlet park outside the city boundaries. Good, clean shower-ensuite room with a comfortable bed. Very good quality and range of food in a well-cooked breakfast. Attentive, pleasant staff. Good range of relevant local information available. Convenient location on south side of the city. Excellent value.

Very clean. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Off-road parking for car. Pleasant and friendly staff/owners. Easy to find. Pleasant 20 min. riverside walk to city centre.
No vegetarian sausages available (but I had 2 eggs instead - so not a big bad point).

The hotel was very well presented with a warm friendly atomosphere and showed considerable attention to detail whilst the owners are excellent hosts and very helpful. The breakfast was great with generous portions and plenty of choice. The bacon and sausages were delicious. The location is great for the University and York city centre.

The accomodation was very clean and very hospitable. I have stayed in several bed and breakfast accomodation in York and this by far was the best.The proprieter was very pleased to accomodate our needs for an early breakfast as we needed to be at our daughters for her graduation by 8.00am.

Very clean and spacious, with all the ammenities. Digital receiver TV a welcome bonus.
Parking space very limited, counld barely find a space. It would help to have the TV on a hinge/pivot (currently bolted rigidly to wall) so that it can face the bed (it's now at 90 degrees).

A top sheet on the bed would have made sleeping more comfortable--the comforter / duvet was too warm the second night.
