Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"Excellent value for money hotel, great staff and facilities and I would like to return one weekend for a leisure visit." (107514187)
Picturesque location (Prison next door not too obvious!), lovely character building, friendly and helpful staff, very nice dinner and breakfast.
Window in my room quite draughty (appreciate double glazing in a listed building may be difficult) and the shower had one temperature...very hot.

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"Very disappointing as it was my husbands 49th Birthday, not what I would call a romantic hotel. The building and grounds are stunning especially with the snow, and it has some lovley features, but unfortunatly inside it is souless. I would love to hear from Four Pillars." (107989695)
Staff very helful at checkin Foreign staff pleasant The spa looked nice althought we didnt use it. Room was good size, bathroom very clean and modern. ground and exterior of hotel was lovley
The hotel from the website and the initial drive up on arrival is good, on entering the hotel it is disappointing. The Hotel unfortunatly lacks character and soul, lighting is poor and uninviting, decor is bland and tastless. Not many flowers around, NO log fires and hard card meues are not very nice. Meal was OK bit commercial and a bit rushed. Ok for a corporate stay.

A very clean efficient reception and room. Good directions to parking and facilities
Room service was diabolical. 2 nights and they didn't get it right once. Cold food, forgotten parts of order, disappointing

Beautiful setting with excellent facilities. My wife says the fitness suite is excellent. Good food well presented from an understated menu.
No lemon available for tea at breakfast, minor but suprising. Check in time (1600 hrs) far too late.

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"Enjoyed it - wonderful grounds, adjacent to HMPS 'Open' Prison." (108048414)
Excellent Breakfast-room staff manner and helpfulness - pity young some UK staff do not learn from Eastern Europeans
Shower fitting badly maintained, but staff made written note of complaint and expected it to be fixed.

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"Lovely hotel, appears from the outside to be a bit too upper class and was expecting it to be a bit of a snotty environment. In fact it was a really pleasurable stay, staff were wonderful, polite and down to earth. We felt really comfortable in this hotel and would definately stay again should the need arise." (108015634)
Although there were a number of refurbishing jobs going on at the time of our stay we feel it was handled very well. There was no mess or noise within the hotel. The hotel promised minimum disruption and thats what you got.

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"Its a good hotel. When i'm in the area I alway try to book here. It's generally cheaper and far nicer that the chain hotels." (99393057)
Pleasent location, good inclusive breakfast.
Radiator valves need replacing. They could not be turned fully off not did they shutdown as they are suppose to so there was the constant noise of pumped water. More anoying than anything and possibly isolated to this particulat room (137)

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"The house has been beautifully restored, lovely grounds, and access to the arboretum, we had no wish to leave the site. The food was good but the cooked breakfasts weren't hot. The service throughout was good but impersonal and not particularly friendly or welcoming, this may be because of the size of the hotel." (99245756)
The room was a good size, clean and well decorated. The facilities were good and the location quiet.

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"Check-in was friendly but it took 10m to find the room from the car park. It's a maze of a building and looks better than the rooms are in reality. Dinner was quick - too quick - and formulaic though good. Not a place to linger." (99489333)
The main buildings
The room was hard to find, a long way from reception and unimpresive

An impressive drive and hugely impressive when you first see the building. The restaurants were both beautiful rooms and the bedroom was very spacious and comfortable
The room was very hot - and there was no discernable source of the heat!

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel were more than welcoming to us with our one year old baby, beautiful setting and great facilities. Even though they were extremely busy - 5 weddings and a classic car rally over the weekend they managed to make us feel as we were their only guests. Great service." (99102656)
The staff went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming, the hotel itself was charming
the room was very hot but reception had already offered us a fan so we managed well

Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge - Reviews & Ratings"Great hotel experiance. Luxury accommodation. Very friendly and helpful staff. Building, room, gym, restaurants and gardens were all beautiful. Both our stay and the meal in the restaurant offered great value for money. Will definately stay again but for longer next time." (99703948)
The room was very large, spacious with high ceilings and fantastics views from a large bay window. Staff were very friendly. Room well decorated and clean. Food was excellent (both breakfast and dinner). Gym was well equipt. Building, both restaurants and grounds were stunning. Exceptional value.
Gym would benefit from air conditioning. Reception would have benifited with more staff

No dinner as we were told that the restaurant was fully booked. We looked in at various intervals to find no more than 4 dining. I suspect the hotel kitchen was busy catering for a wedding in a marquee. This should not though leave guests with no dinner. We had not been advised of this on booking.
